Introduction
Textile is the industry that deals with the manufacturing and supplying of clothing
materials or the actual cloths. The production process in the textile industry encompasses turning
raw materials into the finished product in the form of textile. In this study, the research has been
done to understand the ethical, environmental and social measures taken by selected factories in
the production of textiles (Design, 2018). This will help multinational clothing brands to select
the best possible factory for the production of its products.
Significance of research
The research is mainly conducted to select a factory among all alternative factories of
textile production for the manufacturing of products of the top multinational clothing brand. The
research is done by taking social, ethical and environmental clothing perspective on high demand
(Anguelov, 2015). In this section, the benefits of this research for the client are discussed on the
other hand the risk associated with a lack of productive research is also discussed in an elaborate
manner.
Benefits to client
The client is the multinational clothing brand, which is seeking appropriate factories for
the production of its products within the measures of social, ethical and environmental elements.
The research can benefit the client in the following manner:
Effective controlling, monitoring and testing of production: The research in the
production area of the textile industry can help the multinational brand in monitoring,
controlling and testing the products in an effective manner
Bring energy efficiency: The research can help the multinational brands in choosing a
productive factory for production, hence which can save resources and energy of the
company. This can bring energy efficiency to the company for the long term.
Sustainable production: The research can help the multinational brands in selecting the
best factory for the production of the clothing. This can be based on the ethical concept of
production and distribution. In this manner, the production process of an Organization
can be sustainable in nature.

Organization’s overall development: Every element discussed above like sustainable
production, energy efficiency and effective management of production can ultimately
help the multinational brands in achieving competitive advantage over others and develop
the organization in the long run (T.M.Choi & S.Ren, 2016).
Associated risks in lack of research
The benefits for the multinational clothing brand are discussed in the above paragraphs;
however, there are some risks as well which can be encountered by the client, if the research
regarding ethical, social and environmental concepts of production by selected factors will not be
taken into consideration (Rice, 2013). The probable risks are discussed in the following lines:
Use of worst fabric for production: The lack of research can lead to the use of fabric
with no or less knowledge, which can lead to environmental degradation and harm to the
skin of users.
Unethical Method of production: Use of unethical means such as illegal production,
known eco-friendly production, etc can lead to degradation of the brand image of the
organization in the market.
Negative effect on society: The unethical use of social resources and the rate of
unwanted production can lead to the negative impact of the brand on the people of the
community.
Inefficient use of resources: The inefficient use of resources can happen due to lack of
research, which needed to be taken care of by the multinational brands in the most
productive and proficient manner (Connelly, 2014).
Evidence from factories needed for understanding ethical measures of production
The production process must be carried out by considering every ethical element. These
elements can be related to society, environmental, politics or technology. It is considered that the
use of unethical means in the production may lead to unproductive manufacturing, customer
complaints, production accidents, inefficient use of resources and degradation of the image of
multinational brands among its competitors. it is required by the company to maintain a
competitive advantage in the market, which can be achieved by undertaking many measures.

labor, low wages, health and safety measures, degradation of the environment, cruelty towards

The fast fashion trend also influenced the use of unethical means in the production and
distribution of textile products worldwide. For example, according to a study of Anders Haug
and others in 2015, the main focus was laid on understanding the problem and identifying
solutions for restricting unethical fashion framework. The paper discussed the situation on the
basis of participants involved in the process as well as the elements influenced by it(Haug &
Busch, 2016). There are other examples as well as the manufacturing of products with the use of
animal skin, like in Chanel Company. The examples are considered the faults from the side of
the research and development team of the companies which ultimately get inspired in their
production factories. The example of unethical measures forms the factories of the production
are considered in this section of the research in which real-life examples from the current
working companies are identified with respect to unethical production or use of on
environmental measures in abundance. These factors must be considered by selected
multinational clothing brands in the selection of the factory that uses the ethical clothing process
for production.
Process of research regarding selected factors of textile production
In order to research the ethical clothing measures adopted by probable factories of textile
production, which may be adopted by multinational clothing brands in the future, many steps are
undertaken. These steps can help multinational clothing brands in selecting the best factory for
production (Chonko & Hunt, 2018). The research steps that are undertaken in the process of
selection of an appropriate factory for production are as follows:
1. Analysis of the situation: The prevailing situation with respect to the functions of each
factory is recorded and analyzed.
2. Identification of the problem: The analysis of the prevailing production method of
factories help the researcher in the identification of the respective problems, which are
related to the use of unethical means

3. Accumulation of data: In order to identify solutions for the identified problem the
samples are selected from the field to analyze the depth of the problem.
4. Data analysis and interpretation: The collected data in the form of samples is analyzed
and interpreted by using various advance and basic data analysis methods.
5. Presenting results: The results of the interpretation of the data are presented in this step
of the research process with the view of solving the identified problem.
6. Conclusion: On the basis of the identified problem of unethical production in factories,
the interpreted results of accumulated and analyzed data, the final conclusions are made.
7. Suggestions: The suggestions are the core essence of this research process which helped
the multinational clothing brand to decide which factory is going to be used for the
production of cloths of the company (Major & Steele, 2018).
Conclusion
In the study, the research has been conducted to identify the correct factory which uses
ethical measures for the production of products of the multinational clothing brand. The evidence
from existing companies and their production factors are studied to identify the influencing
agents in ethical production. It is identified that each factory is lacking in some way, however,
in-depth research helped the researcher in identifying the best factory which can help the
company sustainable and ethical production.
