It is the creation of purposeful connection and relationship on the pillar of respect
and trust of patient (Clark, 2017).
Role of nurse in ethical practice
Nurse are the responsible body to provide effective care to the patient based on
ethical issue. It can be said that ethics are fundamental in the field of nursing. They
should respect the patient being care of and other staffs who are working in a team.
They are responsible to maintain the dignity of the patient with protecting their rights
(Chadwick & Gallagher, 2016).
Why ethical practice important
Ethical practice is important for the nurse as the ethical guidelines facilitate the
nurse to work efficiently in difficult situation. It also improve the level of care and
attention. Its importance is related to patient and their welfare. They are able to maintain
dignity of the patient. It help to create environment of mutual trust and respect (Rodney
& Varcoe, 2016). Through ethical practice of nursing the health improvement of the
patient is facilitated as they are given respect and value which make them competent to
cope with the illness. It also help the nurse to build therapeutic relationship and maintain
the privacy and confidentiality of the patient. Such practice do good to the patient and
avoid harm which consequently lead to healthy outcome of the patient. Through
involving ethical principle in nursing nurse become competent to understand the family
of patient. It also lower the medical error (LavoieTremblay et al., 2016).
