ETHICS AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT
Introduction:
Maintaining ethics in the healthcare is very important factor as it supports the healthcare
practitioners to be accountable among the public (Runciman, Merry & Walton, 2017).
Maintaining ethical standard in the healthcare plays a major role in promoting important moral
and social values such as human rights and welfare of the patients. This paper will incorporate
my personal healthcare management philosophy. The plan of being an ethical manager will also
be presented in the paper.
Conceptualization of ethics in healthcare management:
Setting ethical standard is the matter of utmost importance as it supports in making
importance by protecting the fundamental rights of the patients irrespective of their race, religion
and socio economic background (McLean, 2016). Being a healthcare practitioner, managing
ethics has helped me to lead my coworkers to follow all the rules and regulations as imposed by
the government and thus provide high quality of treatment to the patients.
At the same time, managing ethics within the healthcare also plays a major role for in
framing certain set of principles, which are to be followed by the healthcare practitioners for the
sake of mitigating professional dilemmas which are affecting way of treating the patients
properly (Emmerich, Gormley & McCullough, 2018). Ethical standard in the healthcare
organization is an important factor of placing high quality of patients at the first place. This is the
way of promoting better healthcare by reducing the errors committed by the healthcare
practitioners.

Implementation of the philosophy:
Being the healthcare practitioner, my healthcare management philosophy is to improve
the quality of patient care and thus making better experience among them by offering effective
hospital and related health care services, which are humane and respectful to the patients (Rasoal
et al., 2017). My goal is to create and maintain safe caring, and rewarding work environment in
which the physicians can contribute their best. In order to provide better care to the patients, I
have ensued high accessibility and availability of all the patient related information among the
patients. In addition, I have also taken effective care in the way of minimizing the waiting time
of the patients as it can create negative vive among them.
I have reviewed the patient’s responses regularly for the sake of understanding the
perception among them. I have made Check-in and check-out procedures patient friendly. This is
the key of reducing waiting time and thus offers them with better experience of healthcare
(Mfutso-Bengo, Bukusi & Mfutso-Bengo, 2018). In order to create a supportive and favorable
environment, I have made necessary arrangements in order to allow the staffs in decision
making. It has helped in generating a feeling of empowerment among them and thus leads them
to perform their assigned task with utmost efficiency (Feiler, Hordern & Papanikitas, 2018). In
addition, I have also arranged necessary training for the healthcare practitioners for boosting
their skills and competencies.
