INTRODUCTION
Travel and tourism is totally based on legislation and ethics and this business is
continuous going on by the rules and regulatory framework. For properly running the business
there are many laws and regulation are established and founded by the government of the
company. There some laws for the provide befits and provide their right on the workplace. This
assignment is based on legislation and ethics of Essor Ltd. Founded in 2013 by Nico Jacquart. It
is a Travel and tourism company which provides its services in Europe, USA, Canada and Asia.
Its events focus on food tours, food festivals and bar crawls (Archer, 2012). This company
follow all legislation and regulatory framework which are designed for the travel and tourism
industry.

Many legislation are established in travel and tourism sector for the safety and security of
the consumer, employees and employers. There are many laws like Act for employees duty,
employer duty and laws for safety and security of the employees etc (Buhalis, 2015).
Data Protection Act- This act is made for the protection of the employees information and their
personal data. It the responsibility of the company that it should provide protection to the
personal information of its consumer and employees or employers. The information and data can
be related to consumers and employees contact number, bank detail and house detail etc.
Occupiers Liability Act 1984- This act is for visitors and passengers. In this act the common
duty of care to trespassers an to visitors, providing is to be required when the occupier has actual
or constructive knowledge.
Employees Duties- The employees duty is use the safety equipment during the time of risk and
follow the rules and regulations which are made for them by the travel and tourism industry.
They should not doing any work which is illegal and harmful for the tourism industry.
Employer Duties- Employers duties are providing good and well services to the consumers. The
duty of employers is proving first aid facility and safeguard services to the consumers. They
should provide a Eco-friendly environment to their consumer to make their holidays remembable

and it can increase their company's productivity. The duty of the employers are not only towards
the consumers , his duties are also towards the employees. They should provide training to
employees on time to time and provide them a friendly environment where they can work
properly(Fang, 2016).
2.2 Legislation that relates to equality
Equality Law
This law is reduce and remove the problems of the consumers and employees or
employers on the work place that are raise for the equality. These problems are in travel and
tourism sector are related to quota system, age, gender or sec etc. These problems are raise for
the discrimination, discriminations that people are not treated equally and services are not
provide equally to them (Long, 2013). These discrimination related to race, religion, sex and
caste etc. and there are various act and laws which are made for remove and solve these
discrimination (Murphy, 2013). They are following:
Race Discrimination 1976- Under this act the discrimination includes related to colours, origins
and ethics. This law provide protection to the employees and employers and consumers from the
racial discrimination.

Sex Discrimination Act 1975- It is for providing protection to those employees and employers
that are facing problem related to gender and sex. These problems are related to any field such as
employment and education etc. This act provide protection both men and women equally in that
areas where this discrimination arise.
Disability Discrimination Act 1995- This act is established for those people who are disable and
it provide protection to disable employees or employees and consumers. The area or fields in
which this act is working are employment, education, housing and other fields.

this act provide the rights of the employees in different employment fields.
Human Right Act 1998- This Act is also formed for the protection of humans rights that are
provide by the company and organization on the work place. It provide human's right in the
employment, education and other fields so that can do their work without any problems and
hurdles (Park, 2012).

work. Equality legislation are those laws which people in providing their rights related from their
work and workplace. Diversity means differentiation with the people and their work or rights.
Those regulations and laws which are crate the feeling of differentiation between people, their
work and workplace are diversity legislation (Sigala, 2016).
Employment Law- This law is work for protecting employees and employers relation. This law
work on many federal and state level.
Data Protection- This act is made for protecting the employees and employers data. This data
can be related with the personal and normal information of the employees and employers like
bank details, contact numbers and hosing detail etc.

Ethical dilemma is a situation related to morals in which there are choices between two
equally unsuitable substitutes. Dilemmas may be arise due to different sources of attitude or
behaviour ( Zaei, 2013). The ethical dilemmas faced by Essor ltd are mentioned below:
Employment Ethics: Ethics give the guidance to the the decisions of the humans within
the the organisation. Employment ethics are the moral obligations which an employee has
towards their employer which will lead the decision making process and will impact their
decisions. It also defines that the employee owes to the employer during the employment
relationship as well as after the employment relationship.
