Ethics
Ethics is a moral standard that dictate the conduct of an individual in the society. Ethics is
universal because every human society has it. In the contemporary society, there are ethical
standards governing the behaviors of individuals in the families, community, learning
institutions, or workplace. Meaning, ethics has become part and parcel of humanity. For
example, in the community or workplace, there are certain codes of ethics that are followed by
everyone. All these are based on values, traditions, beliefs, and practices that are acceptable by
everyone.
Personal Codes of Conduct
Code of conduct refers to the rules that are followed by the people. For the society to run
smoothly, there are certain standard rules that must be followed. Conformity is required because
of the need of establishing an ethical society in which everyone is compliant and conforming
with the acceptable standard behaviors (Johnson, 2018). Personally, I hold the view that the
society should have standard codes of ethics. My ethical beliefs are based on the worldview of
ethical compliance, conformity, and adherence. In my opinion, that can be a good thing because
it can benefit the society in ma ways.
If I got an opportunity to formulate my own codes of ethics, I would have gladly done so
without hesitation. The following is my proposed ethics statement:
To establish a society in which the people should be friendly to one another in the
society; the people should be respectful to one another in the society; the people to be
understanding and tolerant; the people to be peace-loving and cohesive in the society

According to these codes of ethics, there are some behaviors that the people should
display in the society. I argue in favor of friendliness, respect, understanding, and cohesion
because I believe that they are the most important rules which can benefit the society (Kumari &
Kamala, 2017). For the society to be accommodative to everyone, all the people should conform
to these codes of ethics because they are for the common good of the society. My worldview is
to have a moral society.
Organizational Codes of Conduct
I strongly believe that all the organizations should have organizational codes of ethics. In
my opinion, codes of ethics are useful because they enable the organization to create a conducive
environment that can accommodate everyone, and create room for success and prosperity (Terec-
Vlad, L., Trifu & Terec-Vlad, 2015). So, if I had an opportunity to create codes of ethics for my
organization, I would have come up with the following ethics statement:
This company is committed to creating an environment in which the employees to be
respectful and obedient to one another; employees to be understanding, tolerance, and
appreciative; employees to be industrious; and employees to be punctual and time-
conscious
I prefer the above codes of ethics because if they are properly-implemented, they can
positively contribute towards the success of the organization in many ways. Hence, to ensure that
everything runs smoothly within the organization, the above rules should be created and
effectively enforced (McLeod, Payne & Evert, 2016). Meaning, they should be strictly observed
and adhered to by all the stakeholders within the organization.

The Significance of Codes of Conduct
I always support that all organizations should have standard ethical statement because it
serves many purposes. The management of every organization should come up with and
implement standard ethical codes of conduct because it can be beneficial to an organization,
management, and its stakeholders in many ways.
First, ethics is useful t n organization because it promotes cohesion and unity among the
stakeholders. When the employees, for instance, become compliant to the ethical standards in the
organization, they can work in a favorable environment that accommodates everyone. This can
boost morale because there are no conflicts, discrimination, unnecessary disagreements that
might demoralize the workers (Brenkert, 2018). In addition, ethical codes of conduct can be
advantageous to an organization because it can improve the reputation of the organization and
minimize the costs of operations. An organization that has well-defined codes of ethics can
attract and retain a pool of best workers on whom it can rely to discharge its duties. Meaning,
such an organization does not have to incur unnecessary expenses to constantly hire and training
new employees. Last, but not least, ethical codes of conduct can lead to the success of the
organization. Apart from motivating the employees and improving the quality of their
productivity, it might increase the overall performance of the organization. That happens because
many people prefer to associate with an organization that observes ethics and values its staff,
clientele, and all the other stakeholders (Ferrell & Fraedrich, 2015). Thus, it can be much better
if all the organizations have well-defined ethical standards that clearly-outline the conduct of
everyone.
