This project presents a mock ethics proposal focused on assessing smoking cessation perception and knowledge among healthcare professionals and disadvantaged people through a qualitative study. The research design, methodology, participant selection, recruitment strategies, data collection, and analysis methods are detailed. It addresses the risks to participants and researchers, outlining strategies for minimization. The proposal highlights the potential benefits of the research in improving engagement of disadvantaged populations in smoking cessation programs and justifies these benefits against potential risks. The study aims to understand the perceptions of healthcare staff, recognize their experience, assess their knowledge of facilitators and barriers, and understand the knowledge of disadvantaged people regarding the ill effects of smoking. The data collected through semi-structured interviews will be analyzed thematically to provide insights into improving smoking cessation efforts.
