Introduction
Education is often considered to be one of the founding pillars of the lives of the
individuals and the later part of their lives depends on the kind of education which the
individuals have received at the various educational institutions in the early part of their lives
(Rowe, Mackaway & Winchester-Seeto, 2012). Therefore, in the opinion of many people the
primary purpose of education is to equip the various individuals with the necessary kinds of
tools with which they would be able to tackle the difficulties which they would face in the
later part of their lives (Ferns & Moore, 2012). It is a reflection of this particular fact that the
amount of syllabus which the various individuals need to cover in the present times has
increased significantly (Ferns & Moore, 2012). Thus, in the present times the students are
often confused about the means which they should take to enhance their performance and
often end up taking the help of unfair means for the enhancement of their performance
(Rowe, Mackaway & Winchester-Seeto, 2012).
Syllabus and performance
Increased amount of syllabus
In the opinion of Gullifer & Tyson (2012), the amount of syllabus which the various
students need to cover for their course work has increased significantly in the present times
on the score of the changing requirements of the business world with which they would need
to deal with in the later part of their lives. Furthermore, in the Gullifer & Tyson (2014), in a
bid to cope up with the increased amount of syllabus the students often end up taking the help
of unethical or unfair means like plagiarism, getting their assignments completed by various
kinds of experts and others in a bid to get quality grades for their various assignments which
form an important part of their educational lives. In the opinion of many people this particular

practice of the students is not only unethical but unfair at the same time as it is a gross
injustice for the students who complete their assignments by themselves to get better grades.

In the opinion of Ferns & Moore (2012) the intelligence level as well as the capability
of the students is often accessed on the basis of the marks which they score in their
educational lives. It is a reflection of this particular fact that the use of unethical as well as
unfair means has significantly risen among the various students in the present times. The
authors Ferns & Moore (2012) furthermore say that the kind of placements which the
students get after the completion of their degree courses depends on the grades which they
have scored for each of the semester and thus in a bid to get better grades they end up taking
the help of the unfair means.

performance of the various students and it is generally seen that the students who are
motivated tend to score better grades and at the same time show better kind of engagement or

the opinion that the primary reason why many students fail to perform better in their
educational lives is due to the fact of their procrastination and it is this particular factor which
often deters the various students from performing better in their educational courses.
Therefore, Kim et al., (2015) have opined that motivation plays a very significant role in the
education of the students and the performance level of the students is directly proportional to
the level of their motivation.

maintain a good performance during the entire course of their educational life as the later
prospects which they get in their lives on this particular factor itself. Furthermore Busse &
Walter (2013) are of the opinion that the students are judged on the basis of the grades which
they get for their academic courses and it is a reflection of this particular fact that the students
in the present times opt for the various kinds of foreign language courses in a bid to add bulk
to their resume. Thus, authors like Nayir (2017) are of the opinion that the students should be
motivated in the most effective manner so that they performance in a much better manner and
give their best for the courses which they have under taken.

when they say that the major impediment to the performance of the students is the
procrastination and thus the primary focus of the various educational institutions should be to
help the students overcome this particular procrastination factor in a bid to help them to
perform in a much better manner. Furthermore, the students should be taught that taking the
help of unethical means is not the ultimate solution rather they should focus on the
enhancement of their performance by intrinsic means.

significant to note in this particular context when they say that the taking the help of unethical
practices is not only unfair but also a gross insult to the hard work of the students who get
good grades by the dint of their hard work. In the opinion of Rowe, Mackaway &
Winchester-Seeto (2012) it is here that the role of the various supervisors in the educational
institutes becomes very significant as they are not only required to stop the use of unethical
means for the enhancement of their performance but also to motivate them in the most
effective manner so that they perform in a much manner.
Conclusion
Ethics form an important part of the lives of the individuals and it is generally seen
that the use of unethical means seems a very easy as well as productively one to the various
individuals. Therefore, the various students often tend to take the help of all kinds of
unethical means for the enhancement of their performance which is completely wrong.
Therefore, the various educational institutions and the various supervisors related to them not
only need to ensure that the students do not take the help of unethical means but also to
motivate them in the most effective manner so that they perform in better.
