Case Study
AI Summary
This case study provides a system analysis and modeling of ETickets.com, an online ticketing platform. The project's purpose is to integrate emerging technologies and develop a big data presence to handle the increasing data load. It covers functional requirements such as login, registration, contract signing, ticket listing, and sales. The analysis identifies key stakeholders including customers, bus owners, ticketing managers, and ETickets.com staff, detailing the impact of the new system on each. A rich picture visually represents the system's complexity, and an event table outlines system events, triggers, and responses. Key assumptions include the stakeholders' understanding of the need for system modification and the limitations of the existing system in data storage and support.

2SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELING
1. Project Purpose:
The primary purpose of the project is to integrate emerging technologies within the
online presence of ETickets.com. ETickets.com has to handle a lot of processes simultaneously
that inputs a lot of data and produce huge amount of information. These raw data and
information is handled using old conventional data storage system. This project is also
undertaken for developing a big data presence in the environment of ETickets.com (Gandomi
and Haider 2015). The conventional system does have to store the contracts with every bus
company. Along with that every second people are buying tickets, getting registered in
ETickets.com and a lot of ticket related issues are stored in the system storage. The conventional
systems are not designed to handle so much data simultaneously. For this reason, the website of
ETickets.com is getting slower. The big data will allow ETickets.com to fetch, process and store
huge chunk of data simultaneously (Hashem et al. 2015). The big data will also be fit for future
development and expansion of ETickets.com.
Another purpose of the project is executing social media integration for ETickets.com.
The organization does not have any promotional strategy. The presence of the organization is
strengthen by its quality service. The only promotion it gets is customer reference. The social
media integration will allow ETickets.com to attract many new potential clients. The quality of
service and present customer loyalty will assist the organization to spread through the social
media quickly. ETickets.com can promote offers and new services through social media easily.
Some of the social media sites also allow sales of tickets.

3SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELING
1.1 Functional Requirements:
The functional requirements are the characteristics of the system. The functional
requirement of ETickets.com are described in the below section.
Login: It is a very essential functional requirement for implementing basic securities in
the online system. The login will allow ETickets.com to identify which type of user is accessing
the system and what is the user’s authorization level. Based on the customer type, ETickets.com
will enable access to the system functions and data.
Registration: Registration is essential for selecting the login credentials. Only after the
registration is complete, the system will accept the user as a valid one (Khan et al. 2016). The
registration can be lengthy process as it requires mobile and email verification process.
Contract Signe: The organization will provide an online form which the bus owners have
to fill. This will be used as a service level agreement among them. This contract can be modified
by the bus owners but after ETickets.com enables modification.
Ticket Listing: A representative of bus organizations will be responsible for list all the
tickets of buses. These tickets will be shown to the customers as soon it is listed.
Ticket Sales: The customer will buy tickets based on the date, source, destination and
more parameters. The system will show ratings of each bus and bus service providers so that
customer can compare service quality.
2. Stakeholders:
The main stakeholders of ETickets.com are customers, bus owner, ticketing manager,
ETickets.com staff and management. Each of them has a role to execute for making the business

of ETickets.com running. Each of them will complete their work in a fixed way until the new
system is implemented. The new system will bring new features to the system and modify most
of the existing systems.
The new system will have huge impact on every stakeholder of ETickets.com. The
customer will be able to see offers from Facebook posts or YouTube ads. They can also provide
their feedback on social media. The ticketing manager will experience a lost quicker process
with extra steps. The system will include new security measures so that only authentic ticket
information is stored in it. The owners will get a much rich in information and presentable
reports. The decision making assistance can be expected from the system.

5. Assumptions:
The primary assumption made for undertaking the project is that most of the stakeholders
of ETickets.com have understood the importance of modifying the existing system. The
customers want a faster system that can track their activities and show them offers and other
things based on their need. The management also want the system to be more effective and
create accurate reports. Another assumption made is that existing system is not able to provide
enough support to the ticketing manager and staff of ETickets.com. The data storage of the
system needs to be faster and capable of storing a lot more data than it is currently capable of.
