Literature review
Management of human resource has been considered an important element for every
organization. The focus of the organizations is on managing employee relations and rules and
regulations related to human resource and workplace. Different laws and regulations have been
formulated by the government for ensuring the well-being and safety of the human resource.
HRM function focuses on management of human resource and enhancing the performance of the
human resource which contributes towards the performance of the organization (Figurska &
Matuska, 2013). Hotel Hilton is operating at the global level and is focusing on management of
human resource. Training sessions are being conducted by Hotel Hilton for enhancing the

resource systems and appraisals of the employees (Vlachos, 2009).
These HRM practices have provided benefit to Hilton Hotel by enhancing the
effectiveness and performance of the Hotel. The focus of the Hotel is on creating a balance
between the work life and personal life of the employees. Hotel Hilton has focused on
identification of the training needs and conducting training and development programs. This

Research design/Methodology
Research methodology includes an explanation of the different research methods or approaches
considered and adopted for the accumulation of the data. Data collection is an important aspect
of the research on which success changes of the research are dependent on. This research has
been initiated for the purpose of analysis of the HR management functions and its impact on the
performance of the organization. Different aspects have been discussed in relation to Hotel
Hilton. HR function is considered as one of the most important functions of the organizations in
this challenging and fast-changing business environment. It is crucial for every organization to
focus on the human resource of the organization so as to enhance the performance of the
organization. Data has been assembled for developing knowledge of these aspects related to the
research topic.
Research design: qualitative research design is based on exploratory research which will help in
gaining clarity of the different aspects attached to the research topic. Knowledge or
understanding of the factors, opinions and motivations will be developed with the help of this
research method (Kumar, 2011). An insight of the different issues is developed in qualitative
research method. In-depth knowledge of the research program is developed with the use of
qualitative research method. Data collection process is initiated with the help of unstructured or
semi-structured methods of data collection (Smith, 2015). Quantitative research method is used
for the purpose of quantifying the issue by generating numerical data related to the research
program. Data is collected for the purpose of providing numerical data which will provide
reliability to the research program (Quick & Hall, 2015). For the collection of the quantitative
Document Page
BUSINESS RESEARCH 9
data, online surveys, face to face interviews and longitudinal studies are used (Walter, 2013).
Qualitative research method will be adopted for the accumulation of data for this research.
Data collection: data collection can be explained as the process of assembling the required data
by adopting data collection methods. For the accumulation of the data, primary and secondary
data collection methods will be used. The primary method of data collection helps in the
assembling of raw form of data which a researcher collects exclusively for the research program
(Thomas, 2015). The questionnaire will be prepared for the purpose of collection of primary data
for the research program. A secondary method of data collection helps in assembling of the
second-hand data which enhances the reliability and authenticity of the research program.
Second data has been assembled by other researchers for their research work. When it comes to
reliability, secondary data is more preferable (Turkenburg & McAuley, 2013).
Ethical consideration: ethical principles and values act as a guideline for conducting the
research program in the right manner by bifurcating between the right and wrong (Kuada, 2012).
For the completion of this research program in an ethical manner, few values have been
considered. These values include confidentiality for protecting the confidential data of the
respondents, fairness for presenting data in fair manner and honesty.
Sampling technique: data collected will be in huge quantity and due to the shortage of time,
random sampling technique will be put to use. Random sampling technique will help in the
selection of the samples in a fair manner. Random sampling technique is an effective approach,
which ensures that equal opportunity is provided to every sample for getting selected (Ibrahim
Al-Omari, 2014).

Research Limitations
Research limitations are the factors which can affect the research program. These limitations
need to be dealt properly by applying effective strategies or approaches. Research limitations act
as issues or challenges which holds the potential to affect the quality of the research program.
Various limitations have been identified and considered while executing this research program.
These limitations are a limited time period for the completion of the research, lack of availability
of sufficient resources and lack of access to data. Effective approaches have been considered for
eliminating the negative impact of these limitations.
