So, after analysing the above mentioned events, below mentioned are the recommendations that
should be provided to the company Evans Smallgoods in the external environment:
Recruitment of Staff for Medical Help: As given in the case, it should be noted that the
activities of the business is causing severe threat to the employees in the business environment.
Due to which it is recommended to the business that they should recruit staff that would provide
medical services to the employees if they get hurt during work in the factory setup. As per
Australian Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, it is important for the organizations to
provide complete medical support to the employees in an organization so that they can seek for
help without hesitation and the organization can also work competently in providing the services
to its employees. The company should setup a medical department to take care of the health of its
employees; they should be equipped with medical kit all the time so as to treat the injured
employees (Singh, and Sekhon 2018).
Also the management should conduct training for the employees so as to acknowledge them with
the right ways to work in a factory setup. Training process will help the management in reducing
the extent of mishaps and increasing awareness among the employees. With the hiring of
medical staff and procurement of medical kit the injured employees will get the healthcare
services on time and would not face the problem of travelling to dispensary or hospital in the
environment (Okoye, Ezeokonkwo, and Ezeokoli 2016). Further, it should also be noted that the
management of the company should carry on camps and events to spread awareness and educate
the employees regarding the right ways to work in a dangerous environment. So, it should be
noted that these services will help the management to uplift the safety environment by initiating
awareness and providing medical services to the staff on time. These services will spread
positivity in the environment and it will also provide support to the employees on the part of the
organization Evans Smallgoods. It is important for the business to create safety and culture
environment and initiating these types of services in the environment will decrease the level of
disasters at workplace. Thus, it is important for the business to organize such activities in the
business environment (Sirrs 2016).

Following Safety Guidelines and Principles: It is recommended to the management of the
company Evans Smallgoods to initiate safety guidelines in the business environment so as to
protect the interest of employees as well as company. The company should formulate strict rules
that all the employees and top level management of the company should follow so as to eliminate
various serious causes in the environment. Health and safety rules defined should be backed up
with certain penalties in the environment so that all the employees work properly in order to save
themselves from penalties. Further, it should also be noted that time to time meetings should be
held so as to make the employees aware with the policies of the company (Antonsen 2017). The
management should paste the hardcopy of these rules so that the employees get to remember the
rules that they need to follow.
The operations manager should be held liable for the health and safety environment of the
company. He should monitor the workplace environment and aim to rectify the practices that the
employees are performing in a wrong way. He should assign a different area for the employees
to keep the dangerous tools like knives etc. These tools should be used after proper induction
conducted by the trainer in the business environment. The manager should assign one employee
at all the heavy machines who would monitor its functions only (Mattick, Wetmore, and Allenby
2015). In this way, the employee would be able to stop the disasters from happening. Breaks
should be given to the employees on timely basis and the machines should also be checked and
cleaned within a fixed period of time. Lastly, it is recommended to the company that they should
not levy the safety of the business just for the sake of profitability in the environment. All the
people present in the factory after wearing safety jacket and they should also follow the
guidelines prescribed by the top level management in the business environment (Hamid, Fatima,
and Khalid 2016).
