INTRODUCTION
The project management in order to develop small or large scale corporate event which
are planned or created by event managers or professionals. It can be created by various thought ,
creativity, tasks or plans. The professionals event managers plan, organize and arranges events.
The case study will discuss four seasons 5 star hotel Hampshire, situated in UK. The present
report will provide detailed information about event management and types of events. Further,
the report will identify professional etiquettes which is required in the management industry.
Later, the study will analyse the operational and strategic issues within the event management
industry. It is mandatory to evaluate issues like packaging , pricing so that proper action can be
taken.
1.Preparing a personal reflective statement about types of events.
Personal reflective statement is the statement in which students explain about why they
have made the decisions. It provides the students about an opportunity and what are the changes
need to be done (Aleksandrovich and Sergeevna, 2021). Personal statement of reflection is a
written document which is made by an individual or students to explore their feelings, thought,
events and experiences. The students need to think reflectively about what was done and what
did or did not work well. An individual needs to evaluate about future requirements.
Event management is one of the important sector in hotel industry or others. The
qualified professionals come together to plan, create and manage an event to meet their goals. It
fact, events are display of rituals, beliefs and values as people come together to build relationship
whether it is personal or professional.
Types of events
Conference- For any events it is mandatory to construct meetings and conference for
communication. These conference taken into consideration by people to communicate with each
other or discuss topics such as training courses, board meetings, annual meetings or products
launches (Allen, 2021). All the people come together in order to exchange information, share
ideas and discuss various negotiations. The common things here is people came together in
conference room to encourage business or personal relationship. Network event sessions are
being arranged by the industry for business purpose. Being a professional, I have experienced

that arranging these sessions business men maximize networking by weekly, monthly or yearly
meetup.
Weddings and family events- These events are organized by professional event managers
to celebrate Family functions and encourage events.
Banqueting- Banqueting is a large catering hotel activity in which beverages or food are
being served for guests on particular date. Banquet is most important part of restaurants or hotel
industry because it provides variety of menu options to large number of people to drink and eat.
This may attract various occasions like political or business deals events.
Sports and cultural events- It is an activity which enhance the social development of
individual in order to appreciate them (Feng and et.al., 2021). It is an event which encourage
students or people to explore and develop skills or talents in such activities. It also includes
performing arts or other activities as part of education. Sports events are being arranges by
college or any event management team to encourage healthy competition so that students can
learn and develop their skills. Students participate or perform in the competitions like fancy
dress, musical nights, festivals themes and others.
Entertainments- The present hotel industry provides entertainment activities like movies'
theatre, books, video games area, comedy clubs, story telling and music nights. Four seasons
hotel arranges entertainment event to allow audiences to be fully entertained and enjoy the
events.
Workshop and masterclasses- If any person want to expand its business or any small
shop in order to increase sales then they must bring guest speaker and offer classes or sessions
free of cost. Nowadays, people provide training and discount to attract customers (Types of
events for achieving business goals, 2021). From this I have immense experience that people
have opportunity to enhance a great relationship with customers if they provide workshops or
masterclasses. Many people arrange masterclasses and workshop sessions in Four seasons hotel
as an event to make campaign success.
2.Identifying professional etiquettes required to be successful in the event management industry.
Etiquette means socially accepted human behaviour regarding professional actions and
practices while dealing with each other at an event, meetings or other seminars.
For every business, etiquettes is important because it creates impression, positive
environment, increase respect for each other and also develop communication skills and self-

confidence. Etiquette within the event operations is important part to be successful. It is said that
life of professional is more easier when they know how to present them in front of others and
how to respond in a better or respectful way.
Ability to listen carefully- In event management industry, professional etiquettes plays a
vital role in order to ensure the event is a success and also to make people feel appreciated. The
event manager needs to work with a team for successful events. As communication is the key
factor in every business, event managers are able to arrange event in professional manner or
effectively (Kingston and et.al., 2021). Guests feel better about their presence in the events when
they feel respected.
Treat people with kindness- There are various ways to do things in a correct way in order
to make other feel better. Event managers must greet everyone they are working with or guests.
With the help of great rule of thumb role, event managers can greet people with their team
members with politeness. The event managers need to trained their team so that they follow
proper dress code and worn badge on the right shoulder. They should introduce themselves to a
person standing alone in social function or business meetings.
International etiquette- If an individual running an international event or have customers
internationally, be sure that their traditions differ from one another. The event planners need to
sure to familiarize with some basic traditions, culture, beliefs and rituals. For example- many
countries have different meanings to shaking head, so, event planners needs to avoid using
gestures and must learn the body language etiquettes. There is a different way of check-in
etiquettes, speaker etiquettes and others.
Table manners and thank you- Event managers must know about table manners and
thank you greetings. Dining etiquette is must in hotel industry and event management, four
seasons hotel managers must aware of table manners. If they follow good dining etiquette then it
gives a good impression on guests.

banqueting.
Strategic issues means anything that need to be decided yet or waiting for some proper
clarification and solve issues for future events.
Marketing- Due to heavy competition in the hotel industry, event industry and other
events organizations faces many challenges. It includes changing technology, innovation,

creative ideas and theme based events. It effects span of the services' life cycle, lack of a skilled
workforce and increased customers consciousness about their health. Guests nowadays are
choosy in foods, drinks and others facilities. Four seasons hotel need to keep them update about
the marketing strategies in order to attract guests. To attract more guests the company is focusing
on attractive advertisements through Facebook, twitter and other sources of social media. It is
recommended to analyse Strength and weakness or other internal external factors in order to take
action.
Pricing and packaging- By carefully integrating and evaluating marketing strategies the
present company needs to focus on the pricing and packaging of products or services (Pricing
and packaging, 2021). The industry needs to ensure they have in demand services that is
beneficial for them in order to promote or encourage their customers. Attractive product or food
items packaging plays a vital role in event industry so, it needs to be maintained.
Financial consideration- The word consideration means careful thought regarding
something or someone. The major issue within industry is financial decisions which includes
capital investment, staffing, pricing, budgets and funding. The industry needs to focus on
financial goals by following business plans. The event management or industry have to plan
according to the budget or funding providing to them or by them. For example- if any person
want to start its business then they must have good understanding of how much amount they
need to survive in competitive market. The right financial consideration or decision can increase
the chances of launching business successful.
Operational issues
Every company or industry faced operational issues once or more than that in their
business journey. Sometimes they may feel these issues are difficult to manage, so it is essential
to have solutions in order to overcome growing pains.
Booking diary- It is important to manage booking diary as it is the document which
provide information about the reservation in a front office department (Tseng and et.al., 2021).

dessert, drinks,

methods.
For successful event, the event planner or hotel industry needs to follow some principle
of food production systems. The industry needs to maintain quality standards such as excellent
service, clean areas, proper infrastructures of kitchen, hygiene (Bajan, Łukasiewicz and
Mrówczyńska-Kamińska, 2021). For customers, quality is a constant concern which needs to be
taken into consideration by industry. Four seasons hotel managers must define quality standards
for product or service they offer to guest. They are ensuring that standards are met to satisfy their
guests. Staff of the hotel are being trained to follow principle or procedures of food production
method. This includes using proper tools, standard recipes and others. Food should be prepared
on the basis of some principles which includes using right techniques while preparing food,
Conventional- It is food service system in which food items is being prepared on the
premises where the food and beverages is to be served (Davis and et.al., 2018). For example-
after preparation of food serve as soon as possible, don't make customer wait, serve good quality
food and make sure presentation is must while serving food. On the other hand, Convenience is a
food service system in which food us usually ready to eat by the guests no further preparation is
needed.
Centralized- It means preparing food & beverages in one location and then transport it
elsewhere in order to serve them to others. This is basically known as catering environment
which is generally seen in weddings, events or other special occasions where food may be
cooked at one location and then being served to guests at venue.
Food & methods service methods.
It includes serving the guests in proper manner with excellent ambience or atmosphere.
Also clearing the table and other services so that guest expectations can be met on time. Events ,
Food industry or hotel industry is totally depended on its service staff.

is concluded that a good attitude and etiquettes makes an event managers stronger, and they are
respected by everyone once they have successfully completed the event. Further, it is also
analysed that event managers needs to focus on customer service or types of food services which
includes table service, buffet and others. By adopting this method, industry can achieve guests
satisfaction and attain competitive advantages.
