The formation stage of the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics
The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics that was held in South Korea 2018 had the central
theme of peace along with togetherness. It focussed on the aspect of reconciliation and the
participation of the two Korea helped in focussing on the message of peace. The stadium of
the Pyeonchang Winter Olympics combined in its designs different kinds of geometric forms

helped in representing heaven, earth along with mankind. The Korean culture focuses on the
aspect of harmony along with convergence and the Winter Olympics brought out these key
factors. The sequence of events that was going to be unfurled was carefully thought out and
the Ancient Bell of Peace helped in bringing peace to the land of Korea. Advances have been
made in relation to venue infrastructure and the promotional activities have started with the
second phase of that of ticket selling (Weed et al. 2015). The President of the Organising
Committee have said that listening to the feedback of the stakeholder will help in showcasing
Korea in the form of a global leader in front of the rest of the world. The passion for the
Olympic Games was displayed with the help of the Commission visit to that of Gangneung
Olympic Park. Many students joined the delegation from that of near by Gangneung Haeram
Middle school. The education programme of Pyeon Chang helped many fans in learning
about the Olympic sport. The Pyeon Chang Organising Committee visited the Olympic
Village that housed around 1000 athletes. The Olympic Villages will provide the tangible
legacies and all the apartments have been sold for that of residential use (Wicker et al. 2017).
The high speed train that was at Jinbu will help in providing transport option for the people
who are coming from Seoul for the Olympic Games.

al. 2016). They helped in the process of delivering the adequate goods along with services
and their contribution helped in expanding the Olympic movement. Pyeongchang’s Winter
Olympics contributed to economic revitalization with the help of job creation. It helped in the
promotion of national strength and made a successful leap forward in the arena of politics
along with economy (Sutherland, Lee and Park 2015). The Winter Olympics helped in
balancing that of regional development by the upgradation of regional brand value. It helped
in the expansion pertaining to Social Overhead Capital. It helped in the promotion of Inter-
Korea reconciliation with the help of the Olympic movement. Collaboration coming from
different level of Korean government along with Gangwon Province has helped in the
delivery of the Paralympic Winter Games (Colombo and Richards 2017). The assistance of
the International Olympic Committee which is comprised of volunteers can help in the
building up of a better world with the help of sport.
The staging of the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics
Central characters in relation to the PyeonChang 2018 opening ceremony was the five
children who were representative of the five elements of fire, water, metal, earth and wood.
Bold colours in relation to the five elements was symbolic of the five Olympic rings
(Masterman 2014). The opening ceremony began with the visual of an icebound cave whose

stage helped in filling the stadium with a kind of pulsating rhythm. They then changed into
the colours of that of the Korean flag. The flag of Republic of South Korea was borne by
sports stars from that of the host country and it was handed over to a guard of honour who
was dressed in bright Korean costume (Jones and Jones 2014). The flag was then transported
outside of the stadium like that of a rainbow children choir. It was made up of children from
that of multi-ethnic families and the performing of the national anthem was then carried out.
This set the stage for the starting of the Athletes Parade and the flag of the National Olympic
Committeees was decorated on the ice. As the tradition goes, Greek Olympic Committee was
the first one to lead. The contingent comprised of two cross-country along with two Alpine
skier. The Winter Olympics featured around 102 events within 15 sport disciplines. The
different kinds of sports that were included was that of bobsleigh, figure-skating, sky-

that were included that was those of freestyle skiing, big air snowboarding and mixed double
curling. Soohorang is a white tiger who was the mascot of the Winter Olympics. White Tiger
is symbolic of the guardian in relation to Korean culture (Emery, Kerr and Crabtree 2016).
Recommendations
The recommendations in relation to Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics can be on the
arena of increasing the participation. Focus should be laid on the aspect of high-level
competition and the important elements like learning and sharing should be retained. The
setting of an Empowered Steering Committee can help in this regard that can help in driving
the initiatives in relation to the Olympic Games. This body can help to ensure proper
preparation in relation to the Olympic Games. This body should be given full financial
autonomy so that it can properly control the different aspects in relation to the Olympic

Games. A High Performance Director can be appointed who can work along with that of the
Empowered Steering Committee (Park and Tae 2016). The success of these kind of event can
pave the path for increasing the international prestige of the nation. The Youth Olympic

of competitive dialogue approach.
The former athletes should be provided with encouragement so that they return for
coaching with the help of deputation from that of different organisations. The former athletes
have got working knowledge and they can make use of it for enhancing the performance of
the new players. These coaches have got experience and this helps them in the evaluation of
the risk management within athletic environment. The risks can never be completely
eliminated but being aware of the kind of risks that may arise can help the coaches in the
arena of providing guidance to the players (Hanstad, Parent and Houlihan 2014). They can
assess the sports facilities along with equipment that can help in the prevention of injury to

important aspect that can help in improving the quality of game of the Olympic Games. It can
play a crucial role in assisting the High Performance Director. The coaches can deliver the
right results by taking the help of sports science. It can help in ensuring that the sportspersons
gain access to whatever is latest in the field of medicine, nutrition and anti-doping (Gold and
Gold 2016). Sports Science can help in predicting the ability of an individual in relation to
the sports world and it can offer help in individualization of the training programs.
