and activities that expose an organization to potential crisis and risks. Regardless, organizations
in the contemporary business environment consider events planning as an important strategy in
reinforcing their services or products as well as driving sales. For this reason, the research
project aims to investigate the challenges facing event planners in London using Hilton Hotel as
a case study.
Study Objectives
To identify major challenges that event planners in London face in their endeavor to
promote Hilton Hotel product and services
To identify strategies being undertaken by event planners to address the challenges they
face in their practice
To examine the attempts made by event organizers to avoid the challenges that
characterize their sector
The Rationale of the Study
Event planning requires a lot of dedication, time, and work because of the details that
require scheduling and coordinating. As event planners endeavor to make their events
memorable, they are subjected to various challenges including limited time, budget constraints,
technological innovations, environmental issues, and keeping track with changes (Now 2013;
Carter 2014). For this reason, the research project will collect data from Hilton Hotel event

planners to highlight challenges that they face in organizing events and identify strategies that
can be undertaken to overcome these challenges based on existing literature.
