Tour operators organize, arrange and promote travel and holiday options collaborating
with airlines, hotels and transport companies for ground travel, to complete the arrangements.
They advise customers about where to travel and the appropriate way of getting to such
destinations. As an event organizer, developing an event plan is a common task within my duties.
Currently, operating tours is becoming highly competitive. Touring businesses strive to gain a
high volume of turnover as well as maximum domestic and international market share by
operating effectively1. Developing and developed nations both depend heavily on the ability of
tour operators to develop and promote the tourism plant. It is our duty as tour organizers to
attract tourists as well as diversify the tourism product and social responsibilities to create a
remote and backward area.
As a Tour organizing company, we offer a variety of events within our plan including;
adventure tourism, which is the movement of people to different places outside their comfort
zone to explore or travel to remote destinations, hostile as well as exotic areas. The company
organizes different adventure activities such as scuba diving, hill climbing, and skydiving.
Adventure tourism is growing in popularity, especially among the youth. It is linked to high
levels of activity by the participant, most of which are carried out outdoors. Appropriate
adventure tours should be organized by the company to ensure the travelers experience a
different level of excitement, risk, tranquility as well as get personally tested.
Another event we offer includes ecotourism. This is the kind of event that involves
tourists travelling to enjoy the wonderful diversity of human culture as well as natural life found
in the world, without causing damage to both. The company organizes escapades that involve

travels to significantly uncontaminated and undisturbed natural regions, specifically to study,
admire as well as discover the scenery and the wilderness found in these areas2.
We incorporate different events that are unique in our tour plans such as mass tourism
travels. Mass tourism is more of a traditional form of tourism development dominated by short-
term, free-market principles and is based on maximizing income. By involving large amounts of
people visiting a leisure destination at one time, the company looks to enjoy several benefits
including; more foreign exchange earnings, infrastructural and employment growth, including
transport networks. By offering this type of tourism, the company benefits from applying
emerging internet and transportation technologies. Tourists can research about our mass tourism
offers as well as book and pay for their holidays online.
Alternative tourism should also be included in the tour plan. Alternative tourism involves
a variety of touring strategies such as soft, eco, responsible, green as well as people to people
tourism. Following the recent criticism of the destructive impacts that mass tourism has on the
environment, societies, and culture, placing alternative tourism within the tour plan would build
our reputation as a unique touring business that is mindful of the environment. Alternative
tourism is a unifying strategy that is capable of merging economic growth, environmental
protection, as well as the well-being of communities. Alternative tourism regulates the usage of
natural resources and to control the attendance levels of the tourists. Alternative tourism places
priority on conserving resources as well as the sustainable growth of communities.

The next step is to conduct a detailed analysis on the trends in the touring sector as well
as setting principles to be followed during the tour. Ecotourism aims to attract individuals
wishing to interact with the environment and develop an appreciation of it. Therefore, for the
company to succeed in the eco-tourism sector, they need to set guidelines and principles
including; preparing travelers to reduce their negative impacts while visiting sensitive
environments. Brief the travelers on the expected encounter with local culture as well as with
native plants and animals. The company also needs to implement necessary leadership and create
small groups which will lead to reduced group impact on the destination as well as allow
avoiding regions that are over-visited and under-managed. The company also needs to provide
site-sensitive accommodations that are less wasteful of local resources and with minimal
destruction to the environment.
Another step is creating categories of the adventures which include hard and soft
adventure. This assists in advising and providing travelers with the most appropriate adventures
fitting their skills and preference. Hard adventures involve activities that are riskier and need an
intense commitment as well as advanced skills. It includes activities such as mountain climbing,
trekking, caving as well as ice and rock climbing. A professional guide should be included for
these hard adventures since they are highly risky in nature3. Soft adventure, on the other hand,
refers to activities with low levels of risk and need only a minimal commitment as well as
beginner skills. It includes different activities such as kayaking, camping, backpacking as well
as hiking. Since soft adventure activities are low risk in nature, the plan allows participants to
choose either unguided adventures or professionally led guides.

The plan also includes the different ways that the tours and adventures incorporate the
emerging developments in the touring sector. Among these is the development of tourism
infrastructure. The infrastructure which is part of a regional tourist product is composed of basic
buildings, devices as well as service institutions. The growth in tourism infrastructure will
facilitate proper operating of travels and communication during the adventures.
Some of the additional services that can be included in the adventures are risk
assessments reports for the tour. It should contain an analysis of the lurking threats that could
result to accidents or injury all through the adventure.
With the designed plan outlining the steps during the adventures and tours, the
association’s services as a touring company will be unique. The layout puts emphasis on
maintaining the safety of the travelers by ensuring they find the most appropriate adventures
fitting the travelers’ preference as well as conducting risk assessments prior to the events and the
tour.
