2EVENTS VENUE MANAGEMENT
Response 1
The concerned venue in this case is a Hotel, which is located in Sydney in Australia.
The name of the hotel is Royal Sydney Hotel. The hotel is a five star-rated venue and it has a
multipurpose use (Jones, 2017). Apart from, staying facility it serves other premium quality
services that include multi-cuisine restaurant, swimming pool with lounge, halls for social
and official events. However, the events that it can host include official seminar, conference,
parties and product promotional events and under social events, it can host, birthday parties,
wedding and anniversary receptions. Therefore, to host all these events the hotel should equip
it with all the necessary assets such that it can provide premium service to its clients
(Campbell, Jardine & McGlynn, 2016). However, in this case, four of the important assets
have been considered and detailed discussion of those assets have been made addressing their
type, composition, functionality and use along with the reason for choosing them and how
they add value to the venue and contribute in hosting the events mentioned above. The
chosen assets are (a) chairs and tables, (b) projectors, (c) cars and (d) cutlery items.
The details of the above chosen assets are given below:
(a) Chairs and table sets: Under fixed assets, chairs and table sets are included in
furniture and fixtures (Ferrara & Underwood, 2015). For organizing events as
mentioned above, chair and table are necessary assets because for events like
seminars and business conferences many people gather and discusses serious topic
related to business and the participants use devices like laptops (Lee, Parrish & Kim,
2015). Thus, sitting is primary requirement for such events and thus chair and table
are necessary. It also required for sitting in wedding ceremonies and anniversaries.
Furthermore, as these assets are to be used for event purpose they should be durable

and of good quality. Thus, materials used for manufacturing of the asset are maple
wood for structuring, leather, foam and cloth to make it premium and durable.
(b) Projectors: Projector is also a fixed asset that comes under equipment category. It is
one of the important asset for both official and social events as display is required in
the both the cases (Islam, 2016). In promotional events and presentation projector is
necessary and is used in social events like weddings too for displaying pre-wedding
photos and videos. It is bought directly from the manufacturers and is an electronic
product.
(c) Cars: Car is also a fixed asset that comes under the vehicles. It is one of the most
useful asset, which is required for all the events. It is used for picking up and dropping
off guests and other transportation purposes (Abdelhamid, Hassanein &Takahara,
2015). It directly bought from the manufacturers and is made up of metal, plastic,
rubber and leather and other engineering materials.
(d) Cutlery items: Cutlery items include plates, spoons, cups and bowls and are all fixed
assets. In the types of events that are mentioned above includes refreshments, lunch or
dinner, thus cutlery seta are required in the venue to accommodate the needs of the
events that it organizes (Mattel, 2015). The cutleries that are used in the venue are
made up of china clay.
