Children of age group 13 to 16 are found taking there are several behind this activity.
It is important to stop this drugs taking habit at early stage because it may give negative
impact on their health in future. For stopping this there is requirement to analyse these factors
first explanation of these are as follows :-
Attractiveness of drugs. Smoking and drinking are widely promoted as habits enjoyed by
sophisticated, fun-loving, attractive and so on , this is want children now want to become.
Illegal drugs are “advertised” by those using them in an adolescent’s peer group.
The high induced by drugs. If drug use wasn’t pleasurable, it would be relatively
easy to keep kids and harmful substances separated. But the reality is that many kids
enjoy the way they feel on drugs at least for a while.
Attitudes of parents toward tobacco, alcohol and other substances. Children learn
things from environment in which they are living if parents doing Smoking, drinking
and other drug-related. Then it will duplicated in their children behaviour definitely.
Availability of drugs. Finding drugs is not difficult for children and adolescents in
most communities, but tougher local standards can help keep drugs out of less-
determined hands.
Peer pressure. Peers play a huge role at each stage of a child’s or adolescent’s drug
experience. Whether resisting them, experimenting, becoming a user or confronting
withdrawal and recovery. Within early adolescent need for peer acceptance is strong
as compare to other stage of life. “Just say no” may not mean a whole lot when
smoking, drinking or taking drugs determines who is included among the highly
esteemed ranks of the inner circle. In simple words for becoming part of peer groups
individual start consumption of drugs.
It is important to overcome with situation of drugs consumption at early stage. Thus, there are
some techniques which individual have to involve in their working to overcome with issue of
drugs consumption through type of drug programs :-

Outpatient treatment – This treatment is not related to live-in program as these are
outpatient programs. Thus, they can scheduled around working areas as well as
schools. Children will get treatment during day or evening but don’t stay overnight.
There major focus is relapse prevention.
Day treatment/partial hospitalization – This treatment is for people who need ongoing
medical monitoring but wish to still live at home as well as want stable living
environment. Thus, these type of treatments are provided at centre in day for 7 to 8
hours then individual can return home in night.
Residential treatment – In this treatment individual lives at facility but get away from
home, school, friends and addiction triggers when this intensive treatment is going on.
Thus, residential treatment start from few days and take several months.
