Introduction
Psychiatric disabilities are referred to as a mental disorder that disturbs the soundness of
the mind and affects the mood and behavior of a person. Some of the symptoms of this disability
can be regarded as confused mind, tiredness, fear, guilt and self-killing thoughts. Depressions,
Schizophrenia, eating disorders are some of the examples of psychiatric disabilities. To reduce
the impact of such mental disease among the youth and adults of Australia, the Individual
Placement Approach has been considered an important program which is recognizing the talent
and helping the individual by providing various employment opportunities (Salters-Pedneault,
2019).
In this assignment article review over the “Evidence-based Supported employment for
people with Psychiatric Disabilities in Australia: Progress in the Past 15 years has been
conducted ( Waghorn, Killackey, Dickson, Brock, & Skate, 2019).
In this article Geoffrey Wagon (2019) has indicated the power and positive influence of
Individual Placement and Support on Australia. However, with the decline in the individual
mental health industry the scope of recovery has become vast. This means such
circumstances can enhance and cure the patients. Through this article, author have discussed
and stated about the prevailing situation, upcoming challenges, and employment
opportunities for the people which are suffering from Psychiatric Disabilities It can be
observed that since 2005, evidence-based support for dynamic and challenging employment
is planned for individuals suffering from psychiatric illness. One of the popular evidence-
based approaches is Individual Placement and Support methodology which promoting and
empowering people by providing various employment opportunities (Waghorn & Hielscher,
