This report investigates the effectiveness of fish oil in treating osteoarthritis, focusing on evidence-based research. The study begins with an introduction to the use of fish oil as an alternative medicine for osteoarthritis and highlights the need for healthcare professionals to use authentic databases like the Cochrane Reviews and CINAHL to provide informed advice to patients. The report outlines a PICO question and search strategy using keywords, Boolean operators, and limiters within the CINAHL database. The search yielded two significant articles: one by Zawadzki et al. (2013) highlighting the effectiveness of PCSO-524 in pain relief and another by Hill et al. (2015) on the efficacy of low and high doses of fish oil in reducing inflammation. The conclusion emphasizes that the research provides valuable insights for healthcare professionals to guide patients regarding fish oil's benefits in managing osteoarthritis. The report concludes that the selected articles provide the best advice to the patient and can be used for providing the best medication to the patient.
