settings.
Purpose and Process of Conducting Research.
The Evidence Based Research is conducted in almost every health care organisation. This
is a process that is followed by answering a range of questions that provides appropriate answers
to the questions. The research conducted will help in bringing the minute details that are hidden
and showcasing light on them. The research is conducted to find out what abuse the medical
practitioners are facing while working in the medical and health care work place. As known
research is an instrument which will enable in testing the theories of the subject matter. The
research purpose is an ongoing procedure which that explains the project through literature
review and depicts the findings and analysis for the same. Along with this the research also gives
a brief synopsis by giving recommendations for the same. The research worker proceeds research
in order to gain an in depth (Godshall 2019) knowledge of the subject which is considered. It is
executed by meeting hypothesis, collecting data, analysing results, giving conclusions, procuring
findings, framing questions and deriving answers of the same. Along with this implementing the
outcomes in daily life.
Skills and Qualities Needed to Conduct a Literature Review and analyse
Current Skills and Knowledge.
In a research it is vital to find out the assumptions and conclusions which are made by
several people who has performed research on the same topic in past years. The literature review
is a tool which (Park and 2020) shows their analysis in a concluded form which develops a sheer
understanding of the topic in whole. The literature review requires a number of skills for its
completion so that it is carried out in a proper manner. A better literature review is one which
depicts a logical thinking and an abstract for the topic that is researched. To proceed with the
literature review, the research worker is required to cater the sources like books, journals, papers
of the relevant subject matter. The literature review is conducted in a series of steps that can be
seen as:
Firstly an appropriate topic is chose on which research is required to be executed. Upon that
research aims and questions are prepared. Then the scope of the literature review is decided that
is from where the content will be derived. After (Grant 2017) that a set of databases which are

required to be examined are calculated and prepared. Then the final literature review is
conducted and proceeded. When the literature review is completed, a review of the same is
prepared. This completes the process literature review.
The skills and qualities which are required for an effective literature review consists of:
 It should be wide enough to cover whole information.
 It should narrow down irrelevant information.
 It should be prosecuted from reliable and authentic sources.
 It should define the key terms associated with the same.
 The meanings (Hain 2017)of acronyms should also be clear.
Research Objectives
Research Objectives are considered to be a part which works for showing on what
grounds the research is completed. They describe what the research is trying to achieve. The
research objectives for the respective project can be seen as:

 To tackle the abuses and neglect in health and social care settings.
 To understand the importance of tacking the abuses and neglect in health and social care
settings.
Literature Review and Discussion of the Key Terms
Theme 1: To understand the neglect and abuse in health and social care settings.
According to the view point of author, Cerón (2016) it can be rightly said that in health
and social care organisations, staff members are facing a lot of neglect and abuse by their senior
officials. In health care organisations, staff members are abused and neglected by the residents,
companions of patients, residents, seniors and sometimes colleagues even. This results in
reducing their will power and further efficiency to work with productivity and efficiency. In the
social care institutions (Howlett and et. al. 2019) it has been seen that the safety of patients is
overlooked and they are at a st6age of risk. The managers who are appointed in the direction fall
short of the knowledge that their organisation is getting manipulated and abused. The neglected
behaviour is caused when the employees are devoid of the rights and benefits that they are mend
to possess and take benefit of. The abuse is caused by adopting malpractices towards the staff

and mishandling them. This is bring distress and tension in their existing conditions which is a
result that they lack interest and their mental health is disturbed.
Theme 2: To tackle the abuses and neglect in health and social care settings.
According to the view point of author, Prinz (2016) it can be rightly said that, it is highly
important to tackle the issues that are faced by staff members which relates to abuses and
neglect. To perform this it required to train and make the employees aware. This can be done by
explaining them and conducting programmes which work for the same. When the abuses and
neglect faced by the health practitioners and social care workers are tackled and worked in
favour of reducing them, it will help the development. The abuses can be tackled by early
examining of the abuses and their ill effects. After finding out the abuses and neglect, they are
required to be resolved by preparing a systematic plan. The abuses can be physical abuse or
sexual abuse or mental abuse. They all are very hazardous and are in urgent need to resolve
them. They can also be tackled by helping them out and increasing the social gatherings so that
they don't feel alone. Disciplinary (Larsen and et. al. 2019) measures should be taught from the
early childhood days. The parents and guardians of the abusers are also needed to be informed so
that the process can be carried out in an effective manner. If the cases of neglect and abuse is not
treated in a proper manner it will lead in criminal cases which have been observed in past times.
There has been a number of cases in young adults as well as adults who have been working as a
health practitioners or social care worker which have shown the impact of abuse and have
resulted in ending up of their lives.
Theme 3: To understand the importance of tacking the abuses and neglect in health and
social care settings.
According to the view point of author, Widom (2017) it can be rightly said that it is very
important to tackle the neglect and abuses as it will be affecting the sufferers in an adverse
manner. It becomes important to tackle as abuses will cause mental distress which will affect the
their normal routine activities. This will reduce their standard of living and thus causing the
society to remain backward. It is important to make people aware by creating a positive and safe
environment. As no individual should be left behind in accessing his or her fundamental rights
and should be treated equally and fairly. The people who cause this abuse should also be guided
and monitored so that they reduce (Lo-Biondo, Wood and Haber 2017) working in the same
direction again. Further it can also be analysed that when the issues of abuses and neglect are not

timely solved it might lead to serious tensions in the mind of sufferers and they may involve in
attempting suicidal attempts or hurt themselves. As understood the healthcare practitioners and
social care workers are working in the direction of helping and uplifting the lives of society and
when they are not mentally stable, it will create problematic situation which will in turn prove to
be disastrous. They will not be able to provide their services in a better manner.
Findings and Analysis
The findings and analysis which can be derived from the above literature review is that it
is significant to tackle the abuses and neglect that has been caused to the staff members who are
working as medical practitioners and as social care workers. For this it is required to set a
committee or a team that works in this direction by conducting time to time programmes that
depicts the ill effects (Mena-Tudela and et. al. 2018) and give solutions for the same. It can also
be analysed from the above research that if the situations are not controlled it may lead to very
problematic situations which can harm the working conditions of the society. As the mentally
stressed individuals may lead to attempting suicidal crimes and make there lives suffer. There
has been many cases which have been observed in the past times, so this has to be laid more
focus. When the mental health of medical practitioners is affected they will not be able to work
in an appropriate manner which will result in reduction in health services and whole society will
further suffer. In the same (Murray and Gayle Huelsmann 2020)way when social care workers
are not in a proper mental health they will not be able to work towards the upliftment of the
society. This will further result in backwardness of the society and prevailing of negative
measures in society. This will lead society again in crimes and follow up of orthodox beliefs and
cultures.
Reflection on how to analyse the Research Process
I researched on the issues which are in direction of neglect and abusive that are faced by
the individuals and for this their known and respective people are only responsible. During the
event of the project completion I went through the case studies which depicted how medical
health workers are tortured and abused even when they are acting as the support to the economy
and its individuals. The social care workers as evaluated by me were working for eradicating the
orthodox beliefs and creating equality and fairness in environment. Irrespective of this I
experienced that they were ignored, abused and neglected while they were working in front of

me and that of other society members. When I asked them they were full of sorrow and were in
grief. They told me that like this they won't be able to work in the same direction. While
completion of the research I found out how colleagues, seniors, residents, localities and others
treat their colleagues and juniors with disrespect. Along with this I observed that they work as
affecting the mental peace and harmony of individuals and make them suffer. Along with the
ones who suffer, the families of the sufferers are also affected. They also face mental trauma
which leads to distress on a wider scale. I even observed that maltreatment can also cause the
victims in a feeling of isolation, fear, and distrust, which will carry forward and go on for a
lifelong circumstances and will result in affecting the psychological consequences. I also
observed that it will also manifest their educational difficulties, create low self-esteem, can lead
them to depression, and trouble forming in maintaining relationships. I got to know that people
are abused mentally, sexually, verbally, physically. They are tortured, beaten, sexually driven,
slaved, abused, psychologically and emotionally abused. In an organisation they are abused by
not getting quality and fair treatment. They are devoid of equal rights and same pay wages which
will again create a distress in mind and will be affecting their work culture.
