TASK 1
Reflection is not merely a series of ideas but a consequence as per Dewey, where "the
subsequent ordering of the mind is so carried out that each defines the next one as its right
result, and each result, in turn, relies on its predecessor or refers to it" (Potter, 2015). Think is
a complicated mental treatment of questions or uncertain ideas that cannot be resolved, which
are also known as material illness. Reflection is deemed an integral part of professional
learning which permits the individual to recognise their learning environment and to
transform experience into their learning environment (Husebø et al., 2015).
Introduction
I have chosen the week where I will describe the first month of my university where I am
chosen to pursue a bachelors degree in business management, which will be a backbone for
my future career and plans for that matched my interest and my career choice. This week has
been the most significant chapter of my life as it was the basis of what my life would build
upon. I will Use the Gibbs Six Stage Model as a reflective model. This model because Gibbs
model acknowledges that a situation is what can influence one's feelings, and also it is built
on breaking down reflections in order to evaluate events given by Bouds Model too (Ryan et
al., 2013).
Gibbs Six Stage Model
Gibbs Reflective Cycle promotes individuals to systematically think about their
experiences related to a particular event or activity. Those experiences can be structured in
phases through a circle. This frequently makes people more aware of their
experiences, events and activities and more able to adapt and modify the way they do things.
By looking at both the positive and negative effects of the event, you may learn from them.
The cycle is finished here.

Source: (Tanaka et al., 2018).
Step 1: Description
This step describes in detail the circumstance, the incident or the activity, without
sketching any immediate conclusions. The most common questions that may contribute to the
creation of an objective description are any important information which should not be
excluded. Every information is important for improving understanding of the situation is
relevant.
Step 2: Feelings
In this stage, the feelings generated by the event as well as the thoughts of someone in
step 1 described during the event, activity and situation. The purpose is not to discuss or
comment on the feeling in detail. There's no need to evaluate or judge emotions.
Consciousness is the main objective of such a stage. Due to the fact that people often have
difficulties talking about their feelings, questions or asking questions are encouraged. This
also shows that the Gibbs reflective cycle is of use in a particular environment or a training or
therapy environment (Gould & Taylor, 2017).
Step 3: Evaluation
At this stage, you are wondering whether the event experience was either good or bad in
step 1. How well and in what way did the approach work? What wasn't the method that
worked? The situation can hardly be objective for people. Bad experiences should also be
Document Page
evaluated, as the next steps in the Gibbs Reflecting Cycle help to learn from (Tanaka et al.,
2018; Ryan & Ryan, 2013).
Step 4: Analysis
This stage deals with the situation, event or activity you learnt. You now know what to
do in similar and future situations because of the experience. This implies that you will write
down and analyse individually both positive as well as negative things and problems you
have experienced (Beech et al., 2017). People learn from errors, after all. This assessment is
often carried out in conjunction with step 3.
Step 5: Conclusion
This is a step backwards, “take a look” and asks yourself what else you could have been
doing in this case. In this step, the information that was collected earlier is very valuable and
can promote you to come to a promising and valuable proposition (Eppich & Cheng, 2015).
Step 6: The Action plan
Action for situations, activities or events is developed in the final step. In the fifth stage
'Conclusions' you make specific promises for yourself. These promises are to be kept. If all
went well, next time you can promise to do the things the same way. You can promise to
make the same mistakes in areas where things didn't go so well. It is wise to draw up a
timetable for avoiding promises, in addition to an action plan.
MY REFLECTION
Description
I will be able to reflect on management practices globally in the first few weeks of the
Monet Holiday Park Project. It is also a journey of self-awareness of the little unforeseen. I
will be able to learn more about my strengths. What kind of work I will be able to manage
and to find out what is my leadership style. This is because I was very willing to participate
in various aspects of the management theory and the business world before I came to
university. All this requires holistic thinking which is the subject of course design. Indeed,
the faculty and the lecturer's have all been trying to give us a good grasp of the different Task
Document Page
starting from the very first event which was the first Week of the Monet Holiday Park Project
challenging us spiritually and invigorating criticism. My start has been from a great talk with
the lecturer and the personality test at first Week, where our lecturer briefed us over being
self-less and how to be money smart regarding this. This has led me to great brainstorming
about "great challenges" and how to use design thinking to solve some of our daily
challenges. I aim to apply some of these lessons to the Holiday Park Project which is my
innovative idea project. But one of the most important lessons from the course so far is
perhaps the importance of self-confidence and awareness. I can reflect on and understand not
only my own strengths and my personal leadership style, but how I can work with others who
have inflamed passions. Such boastfulness and confidence inspired me really when I was
talking to some of the people in my group. It has no brash, arrogant air but gravity that comes
not only from being able to work under pressure but also from being able to function under
pressure gracefully.
Thinking about it at the end of the first month, of completing the Monet Holiday Park
was one of the most crucial, decision making, and experience as the role of a Project Manager
/ Timekeeper. In a world where entrepreneurs and design thinkers load on –can I afford to be
part of a program that does not put major problems at the forefront and help to combat
challenges of the practical world? Will it make me a better person? Will this help society? As
I played the part of being the Project Manager / Timekeeper for Monet Holiday Park. I feel
evolved as many great business rulers who are able to make an enormous commitment to the
economies in which we coexist and satisfy stakeholders, which I certainly want to be a part of
by giving back to the community in a similar way.
Feelings
Generally speaking, I feel Greenwich Business School of management evolve me as a
person. They have made me feel empathetic, respectful and accomplished where putting
down another person is not necessary. What is important is working together and achieving

the main goal. Which greatly helps performance and skills. There are tasks which I felt gave
my thinking skills a boost and jolt and forced me to build upon my research skills so that
creativity is revived in me.
Evaluation
I want to gain an important ability which is to work with teams, and people from
different cultures and backgrounds from this whole experience (Moon, 2013) Since this
module demands work in a group, a sense of team spirit has to be cultivated among students.
I want to develop expertise and qualifications in a diverse group or team to work and advance
effectively. This is important and useful, as I am likely to work in a team or group in my own
company in the very near future. In this month I have learned to listen, respect and appreciate
the suggestions of everyone by collecting ideas, choosing a way to approach the project and
delegating the workload. At first, it seemed difficult to work with people from a different
culture and background, but now it seems fun. In addition, a time slot had to be found for the
group work, since everybody had different schedules. However, we all worked together for a
similar end goal which made us feel accomplished and part of something impact.
Analysis
This module certainly has been that seems to be productive and a good observation for
me. I had so far gained a lot of information in these past ten weeks and insights into the
establishment and management of building a community organisation already. I like this
module very much because it was facilitates something I'd like to do in future which is to set-
up and run and put forward this purpose. I have largely been enhanced by my research,
analysis and time management capabilities, which would certainly be useful for my chosen
profession. I am also learning a lot of patience and different ways to deal with people from
various cultural backgrounds, personal experience and professional experiences by working
together as a team. It has already improved my ability to present and sell an idea confidently
Document Page
by practising with the students. It has encouraged creativity by developing a unique corporate
idea and marketing strategies.
Conclusion
There were many alternative actions available for me to pursue and to choose from but I
wanted to pursue the task of being the Project Manager / Timekeeper as its more of a
desirable thing to do for me which will contribute to my skills of managing my business or
any other be it to work in banks, private limited companies multinationals and much more.
Action Plan
The action plan is to complete the degree with all modules and make the most of the
learning and skills through every training session. This would gear me up and motivate me
for my future business. As I'll have a good knowledge of start-ups and the market with little
experience from university projects of my related choice of career.

TASK 1-B
1- Introduction
The theme I have chosen to reflect over is Self-awareness; this is because of one incident
which as made me conscious of what my weakness is over and over again (Leary & Tangney,
2011). Self Awareness means knowing when you are stressed or exposed to health risks,
knowing when to bend rather than break. It can also mean turning stress to your advantage.
Moments of depression can force you to reflect on things and to change (Schmid, 2014).
Sometimes it helps to write down all the good things you have done and all the things you do
well. I will use the Lawrence and Wilkes Reflect Model. I selected this model because it
makes you reflect and analyse an event or experience by breaking it down into seven steps.
These are: Reflect, Experience, Focus, Learn, Evaluate, Consider and Trial(Nelson & Low,
2011).
2- Lawrence and Wilkes Reflect Model
I have selected the Lawrence and Wilkes Reflect Model, and I will briefly talk about the
model here. This model helped me break down this event in the following elements and
understand the graveness of the incident(Cassidy, 2011). This Lawrence-Wilkes Model was
developed in 2014 as a systematic approach to Reflective Practice (Seirra et al., 2011). It
talks about seven stages which are described in detail below and help in reflective exercises
so that an individual knows how to exactly view a situation and any incident that may have
taken place or that happens in the life of an individual.
Stage Activities
Can you Remember? Can you Think back about the incident, episode?
Can you recall what happened in the incident, episode?

Take an experiment, take action, and make the change.
Remember
I had to do a project in a Group where there were five members. The work there is was
work with five different personalities, and it has taught so many things especially confidence,
tolerance and motivation. While interacting with colleagues when doing group work and
pointing out the mistakes and appreciating the best work has increased lot of confidence over
the course of time but this meant I had to overcome my feeling of frustration and anger to
avoid exploding and work harder than before for accomplishment and a better grade in
collaboration with the rest by pursuing the project of Monet Holiday Park Project.
Document Page
Experience
What is important in every course is a grade which is good to maintain a good GPA, and
that helps learning and skill enhancing possible. At the end of every course learning to better
yourself or skills is vital(McConnell, 2011). This was one of a kind experience where
everyone had to endure each other's conflicts and make a prototype of a product that would
sell well among students.
Focus
This happened in our university when we were given a group project for making
improvements in The Monet Holiday Park against many other individuals, and the members
were selected by the teacher. There were feelings of all being emotionally charged for a grade
which is better than other groups. There were feelings of anger, stress,
disappointment, frustration, anxiety, fear(Jones & Underwood, 2017).
Learn
Initially, my reaction to the situation was very negative, and I wanted everyone to listen
to me as I was the leader of the group. I was not ready for delegation, but I was rather
approaching a very autocratic style because we were competing against many other groups.
This is what led to a lot of disagreements between the group members and they also went to
the teacher to complain about my rigidity, and I was called upon by my instructor in order to
discuss what the real issue was with my rigidity. I realised that I was willing to sacrifice
anything and forego anyone willing to compromise my grade and then it hit me that I was too
selfish on my part and willing to take all the credit. Then my reaction was a more positive
one when I called a meeting with all my group mates, and I addressed this and took credit for
my behaviour and apologised, and there we strategised on how will we take this Monet
project further.
Document Page
Evaluate
I was feeling those emotions because I have taken my GPA to be a very serious and
important thing and this is the crucial factor that would determine my academic achievement
for my career. It was more of a negative emotion that threatened my future is what I felt
rather than a more positive feeling. This experience happened in such a manner because it
was my first and most important lesson that I learnt. I was playing the role of a leader of 5
group members over the past ten weeks who had to create a distinctive change in the park
that would help people at the end of the semester. The very significant factor in this was me
learning how to give space and a chance to others to prove their performance as well. This
showed the marvellous achievement and the best prototype was put together my own team as
there were five intellectual minds working freely in a creative yet dynamic environment with
very limited resources, swing area, women’s corner, Snack corner, Mini gym, Yoga classes
for mothers etc were all brilliant ideas which were floating in our group and many others too.
The good out of this came in the way that I realised how to give others a chance and how I
have to listen to others while the bad was that I have very poor self-management skills and
anger management which need a lot of hard work.
Consider
I spoke to a friend of mine who was also of the same age and in the same semester but
was in a different university he made me realise how every time one has to sit back and think
about a situation before giving a reaction, or before judging anyone else and doubting their
intentions. I then came to start taking a pause before every experience, and I think of 3
different ways to a situation which is in front of me. One is the obvious solution which is to
retreat and defence strategy, the other is the empathy(stepping into the other person shoes),
and the third is how would a person who is there as a mediator would react to a situation. So I
feel that I could have given them all room for expressing their opinion and a way to express

their ideas so that they could also feel an integral part from the very start and all this hassle
could have been avoided.
Trial
My behaviour has changed to a great extent. I have started trusting people and taking
their word for what they say. This is because of one experience which has lasted for about ten
weeks teaching me a lifelong lesson and the firstly the most important one, and there have
been many more which have evolved me as a person(Bar-On, 2010). As this was just one
milestone which has been possible to a great extent because of the expertise of many people,
which made me realise that when an organisation full of people come together, they created
wonders which have greatly changed the way things have happened since the very start. My
attitude has changed majorly, and it has brought about a lot of positivity in me. This
reflection has taught me how to analyse everything critically before being harsh or
judgemental about anything at all.
3- Conclusion
I have always believed that education evolves you greatly as a person and makes a huge
impact on a person life (Sierra & David, 2011). It helps refine an individual in the best way
possible that too if the teachers are great mentors. By searching for knowledge which is new
for an individual is important for objectivity and reduction of potential biases that help to
formulate certain patterns based on facts and personal reflection, which has an impact on the
way a person thinks or responds to a situation. This reflection has made me understand how
self-awareness, trust and delegation is a major tool to the path of self-discovery which
requires patience and perseverance(Goleman, 2011). This will create positive results for the
future. In this reflection, I discussed my first and the most important lesson that was a jump
starter in my academic life

APPENDIX
a) Week 1: Reflective Journal
Experience
In week 1 I have completed the activity which required me to talk about How
reflective am I? Self - reflection is a significant skill to be developed over
time. Only by becoming more self - conscious of your strengths and
weaknesses can you really make major steps towards self - development.
In EVRE lecture in the first week we were given an overview regarding the
course and project in which we choose the Monet Holiday Park in which we
had a discussion base on what our learning will be, what our role is and what
will be the experience, this essentially means that being aware of what we are
experiencing and how we reflect upon consequence of our experience. EVRE
is the emotional stuff of all feelings.
Reflection
Timetable
You won't cut it down by saying you have no time to reflect yourself. Only if
your calendar has dedicated space will the review take place. On Friday
afternoon, I personally commit to this event, but perhaps the time to check on
Sunday evening's work is slower.
Plan my own reflection
This told me to create a simple process of reflection. You will not feel
discouraged by a blank page or your never-ending task list. It also provided a
deep reflection with features. I decided to use free apps such as Evernote and
Freedcamp to guide my process and maintain all my notes and lists. Then, I
took into account the consequences and why no particular tasks/activities
were involved. It could be anything because of a lack of time, knowledge or
equipment. Then, for step 3, you give yourself feasible points by considering
why.
Self-development
Points of action and self-development strategies to address the weaknesses of
my week. I realised I had to create a list of study materials or books to read
or talk to my teacher about training and development. I have ensured that
those features are set and that a time limit has been set. To keep it on top, I
have added this list every week to my reflection (step 2).
Learning
Especially my learning had to celebrate the successes of my week. My
Document Page
Last name 21
motivation and my ability to continue to grow enormously reflected in the
positive things. Self-reflection is a key skill in the course of time. One can
only take major steps in self-development if one becomes increasingly aware
of our strengths and weaknesses.
b) Week 3: Reflective Journal
Date:
28/2/2019
Week 3.
In week 3. I experience doing the DISC Personality test on the student
portal. My personality report score is 52% Dominance, Compliance 23%,
Steadiness 17% and Influence 8%. This involved reading questions and
choosing the answer that best described my personality. The important part
of the test was that I received positive feedback about myself. I can use these
positive characteristics in any real-life situation and any work environment.
When I was answering the questions on the DISC Personality Test, I
experience the feeling of fear the reason is that in week 2, I completed an
Emotional Intelligence Test the ability to identify emotion in self. The score
I received was 30%, and the feedback stated that I am not in touch with my
emotions. Therefore 30% can have a positive and negative impact — the test

our module.

I have learnt about my personality and positive characteristics. I am a
Dominant person. The way I deal with problems assert myself and control
situations.
I am able to influence people by the way I communicate and relate to others.
My steadness characteristics I have patience, persistence and thoughtfulness
when working in a working environment. I handle pressure well- I strive for
excellence and expect others to do the same. However, I tend not to take any
risks.
I do not need to change my behaviour because I have a positive impact on
people. In addition, I have strong Inner- motivation to create and implement
ideas assertively.

Belbin suggests that by understanding my role in a particular team and
thereby improving my role in the team, I can develop my strength and
management of my weaknesses. Belbin suggests that by understanding my
role in a particular team and thereby improving my role in the team, I can
develop my strength and management of my weaknesses. Often team leaders
and team development practitioners use the Belbin model to help build better
equilibrium teams. If all team members have similar behavioural styles or
team roles, teams can unbalance themselves. The entire team may be weak if
the members of the team are similarly weak. If members of teams have
similar strengths in their teamwork, they might be more likely than
cooperating to compete for teamwork and tasks which best fit their natural
styles.

The PPDI lecture for weeks five is being conducted by a study group. Sybil,
Georgette, Trace, Enide, Fabio and Rose are members of the group. The
placement and implementation of the Monet Holiday Park project is our
responsibility. The Project Manager, Human Resources, Marketing &
Finance are all assigned to us. The experience was great, and we had a little
insight into what the lecture wanted the group to do together as an allocated
group in the Monnet Holiday Park. We had to think about the various roles
of Team Roles of Belbin. This gave me an insight into the ways in which
such roles help us to achieve potential strengths and weaknesses where
conflicts have been recognised.
Learning
Sybil appeared to be Shapers people that challenge to improve their team.
The people who have done things looked like Georgette is an implementer.
Rose is suited to the coordinators who play the traditional role of team leader
and are also called presidents.
Trace is more apt for Team Workers.
Enido and Fabio are innovative and curious for the resource researchers.

Experience
Use the following questions to help: Look back and recall an incident/experience; What happened? Describe the
experience. What was important? Who was involved? Where did it happen?
Week: (5) A study group was formed by the PPDI lecture. The people in the group are
Sybil, Georgette, Trace, Enide, Fabio and Rose. We are responsible for the Project
Placement and Implementation of Monet Holiday Park. We all are assigned to different
roles such as The Project Manager, Human Resources, Marketing and Finance. The
experience was great; we had a slight insight into what the lecture wanted the group to
accomplish the Monnet Holiday Park together as an allocated group.
In the EVRE lecture, we had a discussion base on experience, being aware of what we are
experiencing and how we reflect upon the consequence of our experience. EVRE is the
emotional stuff of all feelings.
Reflection
Reflection is the holistic impact and as a Business Management Student. I am being taught
at GSM. I am responsible for the ownership of my behaviour in everyday situations,
improving business organisation and handling conflict effectively according to the Thomas
Kilmann module Instrument (TKI test).
In the EVRE tutorial I personal, I felt confused. The tutorial lecture stated reflect on an
experience. It could be good or bad. It should be documented weekly. In addition, level 5

students were given an online test to complete in a week: (2) Whereas in a week: (1)
students should have completed the online test.
Another issue I was concern about was the lectures and tutorial lectures could have kindly
explained to students that GSM has changed the student platform portal.
I was looking everywhere on the student module portal for weekly, reflection, group
meeting logs on the portal.
Learning
I have learnt that I should practice being understanding and compassionate to my colleagues
in University in a work environment. I also learnt that sometimes I have to use my assertive
behaviour so that others can understand me. What I could have done differently was try to
understand how the new GSM student portal functioned when I was less busy.
e) Week 6: Reflective Journal
Date: Experience
Use the following questions to help: Look back and recall an
incident/experience; What happened? Describe the experience. What was
important? Who was involved? Where did it happen?
Week: (6) We started sitting in groups in our class as previously mentioned a
study group was formed by the PPDI lecture. The people in the group are
Sybil, Georgette, Trace, Enide, Fabio and Rose. We are responsible for the
Project Placement and Implementation of Monet Holiday Park. We all are
assigned to different roles such as The Project Manager, Human Resources,
Marketing and Finance. In this Week we learnt different leadership roles
which were about 8 in totality.
Reflection
Use the following questions to help: What were you thinking during the
incident? What were your feelings? What was good about the experience?
What was bad about the experience? Why did the incident take place? Was it
a positive or negative incident? If negative, could it have been prevented?
Being a Business Management Student as GSM, I have to be responsible for
not only my self but my dealings with others too. I looked into the eight

different leadership styles, and I realised that I am more suited to the leading
side of a side. I have been commanding and very controlling at first, but then
I felt I need to keep it controlled and cordial with everyone if we are to
achieve things together.
Every EVRE tutorial gave my mind a jolt to think in a certain manner, and I
used to come back home do some research and then reflect on my weekly
experience be it my Monnet Park Project or myself as an individual entirely.
There were online tests which I had to ensure completion of in order to stay
at part with the weeks teaching, but the issue was the unreliability of the
portal of students which was very challenging.
Learning
Use the following questions to help: What have you learnt from the
experience? What sense can you make of the situation? What could you have
done differently? Do you need to change your behaviour? If it arose again
what would you do? How do you plan to change your behaviour?
I have learnt that I should practice what is the learning of these eight types.
Which were dimensions that we are based below:
1. Pioneering – dynamic, charismatic, and adventurous
2. Energising – outgoing, encouraging, and spontaneous
3. Affirming – approachable, friendly, and positive
4. Inclusive – patient, accepting, and diplomatic
5. Humble –soft-spoken, precise, and modest
6. Deliberate – systematic, analytical, and cautious
7. Resolute – rational, challenging, and determined
8. Commanding –assertive, competitive, and driven
These helped me relate to what suits my personality and what are my group
members part of in this project as it helped us understand each other better. I
realised I’m more pioneering and commanding and how I use it to my
advantage is an important factor.
f) Week 7: Reflective Journal
Date: Experience
Week (7)
In the EVRE lecture, we had a discussion base on experience, being aware of
what we are experiencing and how we reflect upon the consequence of our
experience. EVRE is the emotional stuff of all feelings. Whereby taking this
test, I felt that People of this type of personality need to be validated in order
to feel valuable, which is what I want. They often work hard, compete and
are focused highly on achieving their objectives whether they are the

company's most successful salesman or the best grade uniquely salesman in
their social environment for GSM.
Reflection
I realised I could have worked to make up for courage if I resent fear, but
fear still lies under the surface. Sometimes a feature could be so incoherent
with our personality that, if we see it in others, we refuse, but we get upset
about it. We might also mistakenly believe that other people admire a
desirable quality. It is important to be conscious of these natural tendencies
and answer the questions honestly in order to get accurate results from any
Enneagram test, which is why I took three tests twice each to ensure validity
and reliability.
More or less the answers categorised me into being an achiever.
Learning
An Enneagram is a multifunctional tool which helped me identify my
personality type identification at its most basic level. The Enneagram does,
however, offer more than categorisation and labelling. This opens a critical
discussion on similarities and diversity and offers language for describing a
range of human tendencies. It helps students to consider themselves
critically.
g) Week 8: Reflective Journal
Date: Experience
In the week (8), our EVRE lecturer presented the personality type My Myers
Briggs that was Extroverted, Intuitive, Thoughtful and Judging–ENTJ. I had
a positive first response to my score. I felt my personality reflected fairly.
My extroversion trend (3 per cent) suggests that I have both extroversion and
introversion characteristics with a slight extroversion trend. My intuitive
scores (12 %), thinking (12 %) and judging (22 %) suggest that these
characteristics have more to do with my personality.
Our discussion was based on these four personality types, and we were
encouraged to take these tests and talk about them in front of the class to
comprehend our understanding of our self.
Reflection
Extroverts have these key descriptors: energised by the outside world with
an active and social focus on things and people. These descriptors are my
agreement, but also my personality (for example, the reflective depth of the
interest) is compatible with introversion aspects. Intuition descriptors include
the search for significance and opportunities, the formation of organisations
and activities on speculations. This is a field of my assessment; I feel less
connected. In facts and data (sensing features), I feel I am better at handling

them. Logic, analysis, thought and objective implementation is the focus of
thought. I agree with this assessment in my type of Myers Briggs. The final
characteristics are the assessment of the objectives, the systemic approach,
decision-making, planning and organisation. The characteristics of the
sensor (spontaneity, flexibility, comfort and surprise) are areas which I have
set for my personal development as well, and this is a strong characteristic of
Myers Briggs. I start by reflecting on this feature through past Park work
experience.
Learning
These are all the features I use in my description, and I found this test very
accurate. I knew a little about what the test indicated to me since I had little
or no experience with Myers-Briggs before this module. After studying it
more thoroughly in this class, I find that not only tells me who I am in a task
but also how I live my life. This test helped me to see the way I am. I always
want to help people; I've preferred to be with people most of the time. When
I work, it is comfortable for my teachers to leave a project with me, knowing
that I will do what is necessary. I seek pleasure in helping other people as an
ESFJ, but I do not forget that I come first.
h) Week 9: Reflective Journal
Date:
14/02/2019
Experience
In Week: (9) we had been taught and told to evaluate self-organising
techniques and how to bring everything that we have learnt and pulled off so
far. The Personal Development Plan, and as our instructor himself is self-
motivating for a student, reflective of the individual self, critical of own-self,
flexible for the environment, creative and disciplined in the spirit of
effecting positive educational change, our confusions and questions were
addressed.
Reflection
I this I evaluated myself in four steps.
1. Assess readiness to learn- I questioned myself regarding my inclination
towards learning or towards making myself better after learning from the
mistakes made.
2. Set learning goals- Then I asked myself if I have any goals, what are they
and what do I plan to do about them or achieve them.
3. Engage in the learning process- Then I engaged in different steps in the
past weeks and found similar tests that would teach me to make myself
better for the future endeavours.
4. Evaluate learning-Then In sat down in this week compiling every week
learning, accomplishment, future plan of action and mistakes made.
Learning

I feel that even for the brightest and most motivated students, it can be
difficult to learn independently. The processes involved in this teaching
course are better known to outline the key components of four key phases of
independent learning: readiness to learn, the setting of learning objectives,
the participation in the learning process and the evaluation of learning are all
factors which have to be managed for better understanding of one own self.
i) Week 10: Reflective Journal
Date: Experience
In Week: (10) the EVRE lecture taught the following to us:
Self-assess your readiness to learn out of the incident
Define your learning goals and develop a learning contract for
betterment in the future.
Monitor your learning process alongside the experience.
Take the initiative for all stages of the learning process — be self-
motivated for anything and everything.
Re-evaluate and alter goals as required during your unit of study
Consult with your advising instructor as required
This meant we six individuals had been together combining all our efforts in
order to make our project successful and the best out of all. This meant being
motivated and having it within us to learn also.
Reflection
Holton & Swanson (2005) stated that in self-directed learners that adult
people are generally ready to learn when their lives need to know. This
based on certain grounds, since most adult learners, do not go to school for a
certain purpose or want to improve their personal and professional skills.
In this reflection for learning, I have realised that it was fortunate of me to
have such a great instructor who had been on his toes to address any problem
or provide a better understanding of this course which had forced me to
direct myself towards learning new ways of self-discovery.
Learning
Most adults go to school like me to study certain qualifications or speciality
requirements, while young adults are subject to the requirement of
graduation, which dictated by the school. This can also be explained why it
is important for instructors to use real-life applications in the fields Adult
learners recognise their intellectual ability to become a partner in the
learning process and why it's important to instil real-life applications within
the course aims which is why GSM is apt for my career and my individual
self.
