Introduction
I have chosen the week where I will describe the first
month of my university where I am chosen to pursue a
bachelors degree in business management, which will be a
backbone for my future career and plans for that matched
my interest and my career choice. This week has been the
most significant chapter of my life as it was the basis of
what my life would build upon. I will Use the Gibbs Six
Stage Model as a reflective model. This model because
Gibbs model acknowledges that a situation is what can
influence one's feelings, and also it is built on breaking
down reflections in order to evaluate events given by
Bouds Model too (Ryan et al., 2013).
Gibbs Six Stage Model
Gibbs Reflective Cycle promotes individuals to
systematically think about their experiences related to a
particular event or activity. Those experiences can be
structured in phases through a circle. This frequently makes
people more aware of their experiences, events and
activities and more able to adapt and modify the way they
do things. By looking at both the positive and negative
effects of the event, you may learn from them. The cycle is
finished here.

Step 1: Description
This step describes in detail the circumstance, the incident
or the activity, without sketching any immediate
conclusions. The most common questions that may

In this stage, the feelings generated by the event as well as
the thoughts of someone in step 1 described during the
event, activity and situation. The purpose is not to discuss

learnt. You now know what to do in similar and future
situations because of the experience. This implies that you
will write down and analyse individually both positive as
well as negative things and problems you have experienced
(Beech et al., 2017). People learn from errors, after all.
This assessment is often carried out in conjunction with
step 3.
Step 5: Conclusion
This is a step backwards, "take a look" and asks yourself
what else you could have been doing in this case. In this
step, the information that was collected earlier is very
valuable and can promote you to come to a promising and
valuable proposition (Eppich & Cheng, 2015).
Step 6: The Action plan
Action for situations, activities or events is developed in
the final step. In the fifth stage 'Conclusions' you make
specific promises for yourself. These promises are to be
kept. If all went well, next time you can promise to do the
things the same way. You can promise to make the same
mistakes in areas where things didn't go so well. It is wise
to draw up a timetable for avoiding promises, in addition to
an action plan.

I will be able to reflect on management practices globally
in the first few weeks of the Monet Holiday Park Project. It
is also a journey of self-awareness of the little unforeseen. I
will be able to learn more about my strengths. What kind of
work I will be able to manage and to find out what is my
leadership style. This is because I was very willing to
participate in various aspects of the management theory
and the business world before I came to university. All this
requires holistic thinking which is the subject of course
design. Indeed, the faculty and the lecturer's have all been
trying to give us a good grasp of the different Task starting
from the very first event which was the first Week of the
Monet Holiday Park Project challenging us spiritually and
invigorating criticism. My start has been from a great talk
with the lecturer and the personality test at first Week,
where our lecturer briefed us over being self-less and how
to be money smart regarding this. This has led me to great
brainstorming about "great challenges" and how to use
design thinking to solve some of our daily challenges. I aim
to apply some of these lessons to the Holiday Park Project
which is my innovative idea project. But one of the most
important lessons from the course so far is perhaps the
importance of self-confidence and awareness. I can reflect
on and understand not only my own strengths and my
personal leadership style, but how I can work with others
who have inflamed passions. Such boastfulness and
confidence inspired me really when I was talking to some
of the people in my group. It has no brash, arrogant air but
gravity that comes not only from being able to work under
pressure but also from being able to function under
pressure gracefully.
Thinking about it at the end of the first month, of
completing the Monet Holiday Park was one of the most
crucial, decision making, and experience as the role of a
Project Manager / Timekeeper. In a world where
entrepreneurs and design thinkers load on –can I afford to
be part of a program that does not put major problems at
the forefront and help to combat challenges of the practical
world? Will it make me a better person? Will this help
society? As I played the part of being the Project Manager /
Timekeeper for Monet Holiday Park. I feel evolved as

many great business rulers who are able to make an
enormous commitment to the economies in which we
coexist and satisfy stakeholders, which I certainly want to
be a part of by giving back to the community in a similar
way.
Feelings
Generally speaking, I feel Greenwich Business School of
management evolve me as a person. They have made me
feel empathetic, respectful and accomplished where putting
down another person is not necessary. What is important is
working together and achieving the main goal. Which
greatly helps performance and skills. There are tasks which
I felt gave my thinking skills a boost and jolt and forced me
to build upon my research skills so that creativity is revived
in me.
Evaluation
I want to gain an important ability which is to work with
teams, and people from different cultures and backgrounds
from this whole experience (Moon, 2013) Since this
module demands work in a group, a sense of team spirit
has to be cultivated among students. I want to develop
expertise and qualifications in a diverse group or team to
work and advance effectively. This is important and useful,
as I am likely to work in a team or group in my own
company in the very near future. In this month I have
learned to listen, respect and appreciate the suggestions of
everyone by collecting ideas, choosing a way to approach
the project and delegating the workload. At first, it seemed
difficult to work with people from a different culture and
background, but now it seems fun. In addition, a time slot
had to be found for the group work, since everybody had
different schedules. However, we all worked together for a
similar end goal which made us feel accomplished and part
of something impact.
Analysis
This module certainly has been that seems to be productive
and a good observation for me. I had so far gained a lot of
information in these past ten weeks and insights into the
establishment and management of building a community
organisation already. I like this module very much because
it was facilitates something I'd like to do in future which is

to set-up and run and put forward this purpose. I have
largely been enhanced by my research, analysis and time
management capabilities, which would certainly be useful
for my chosen profession. I am also learning a lot of

Conclusion
There were many alternative actions available for me to
pursue and to choose from but I wanted to pursue the task
of being the Project Manager / Timekeeper as its more of a
desirable thing to do for me which will contribute to my
skills of managing my business or any other be it to work
in banks, private limited companies multinationals and
much more.
Action Plan
The action plan is to complete the degree with all modules
and make the most of the learning and skills through every
training session. This would gear me up and motivate me
for my future business. As I'll have a good knowledge of
start-ups and the market with little experience from
university projects of my related choice of career.

Introduction
The theme I have chosen to reflect over is Self-awareness;
this is because of one incident which as made me conscious
of what my weakness is over and over again (Leary &
Tangney, 2011). Self Awareness means knowing when you
are stressed or exposed to health risks, knowing when to
bend rather than break. It can also mean turning stress to
your advantage. Moments of depression can force you to
reflect on things and to change (Schmid, 2014). Sometimes
it helps to write down all the good things you have done
and all the things you do well. I will use the Lawrence and
Wilkes Reflect Model. I selected this model because it
makes you reflect and analyse an event or experience by

breaking it down into seven steps. These are: Reflect,
Experience, Focus, Learn, Evaluate, Consider and
Trial(Nelson & Low, 2011).
Lawrence and Wilkes Reflect Model
I have selected the Lawrence and Wilkes Reflect Model,
and I will briefly talk about the model here. This model
helped me break down this event in the following elements
and understand the graveness of the incident(Cassidy,
2011). This Lawrence-Wilkes Model was developed in
2014 as a systematic approach to Reflective Practice
(Seirra et al., 2011). It talks about seven stages which are
described in detail below and help in reflective exercises so
that an individual knows how to exactly view a situation
and any incident that may have taken place or that happens
in the life of an individual.

Remember
I had to do a project in a Group where there were five
members. The work there is was work with five different
personalities, and it has taught so many things especially
confidence, tolerance and motivation. While interacting
with colleagues when doing group work and pointing out
the mistakes and appreciating the best work has increased
lot of confidence over the course of time but this meant I
had to overcome my feeling of frustration and anger to
avoid exploding and work harder than before for
accomplishment and a better grade in collaboration with
the rest by pursuing the project of Monet Holiday Park
Project.
Experience
What is important in every course is a grade which is good
to maintain a good GPA, and that helps learning and skill
enhancing possible. At the end of every course learning to
better yourself or skills is vital(McConnell, 2011). This was
one of a kind experience where everyone had to endure
each other's conflicts and make a prototype of a product
that would sell well among students.
Focus
This happened in our university when we were given a
group project for making improvements in The Monet
Holiday Park against many other individuals, and the
members were selected by the teacher. There were feelings
of all being emotionally charged for a grade which is better
than other groups. There were feelings of anger, stress,

Initially, my reaction to the situation was very negative,
and I wanted everyone to listen to me as I was the leader of
the group. I was not ready for delegation, but I was rather
approaching a very autocratic style because we were
competing against many other groups. This is what led to a
lot of disagreements between the group members and they
also went to the teacher to complain about my rigidity, and
I was called upon by my instructor in order to discuss what
the real issue was with my rigidity. I realised that I was
willing to sacrifice anything and forego anyone willing to
compromise my grade and then it hit me that I was too
selfish on my part and willing to take all the credit. Then
my reaction was a more positive one when I called a
meeting with all my group mates, and I addressed this and
took credit for my behaviour and apologised, and there we
strategised on how will we take this Monet project further.
Evaluate
I was feeling those emotions because I have taken my GPA
to be a very serious and important thing and this is the
crucial factor that would determine my academic
achievement for my career. It was more of a negative
emotion that threatened my future is what I felt rather than
a more positive feeling. This experience happened in such
a manner because it was my first and most important lesson
that I learnt. I was playing the role of a leader of 5 group
members over the past ten weeks who had to create a
distinctive change in the park that would help people at the
end of the semester. The very significant factor in this was
me learning how to give space and a chance to others to
prove their performance as well. This showed the
marvellous achievement and the best prototype was put
together my own team as there were five intellectual minds
working freely in a creative yet dynamic environment with
very limited resources, swing area, women's corner, Snack
corner, Mini gym, Yoga classes for mothers etc were all
brilliant ideas which were floating in our group and many
others too. The good out of this came in the way that I
realised how to give others a chance and how I have to
listen to others while the bad was that I have very poor

self-management skills and anger management which need
a lot of hard work.
Consider
I spoke to a friend of mine who was also of the same age
and in the same semester but was in a different university
he made me realise how every time one has to sit back and
think about a situation before giving a reaction, or before
judging anyone else and doubting their intentions. I then
came to start taking a pause before every experience, and I
think of 3 different ways to a situation which is in front of
me. One is the obvious solution which is to retreat and
defence strategy, the other is the empathy(stepping into the
other person shoes), and the third is how would a person
who is there as a mediator would react to a situation. So I
feel that I could have given them all room for expressing
their opinion and a way to express their ideas so that they
could also feel an integral part from the very start and all
this hassle could have been avoided.
Trial
My behaviour has changed to a great extent. I have started
trusting people and taking their word for what they say.
This is because of one experience which has lasted for
about ten weeks teaching me a lifelong lesson and the
firstly the most important one, and there have been many
more which have evolved me as a person(Bar-On, 2010).
As this was just one milestone which has been possible to a
great extent because of the expertise of many people,
which made me realise that when an organisation full of
people come together, they created wonders which have
greatly changed the way things have happened since the
very start. My attitude has changed majorly, and it has
brought about a lot of positivity in me. This reflection has
taught me how to analyse everything critically before being
harsh or judgemental about anything at all.
Conclusion
I have always believed that education evolves you greatly
as a person and makes a huge impact on a person life
(Sierra & David, 2011). It helps refine an individual in the
best way possible that too if the teachers are great mentors.
By searching for knowledge which is new for an individual
is important for objectivity and reduction of potential
