Background on EWB challenge
EWB challenge is the concept that was being published in the year 2007 with the objective of
providing better facilities and services towards the people of communities. These include
preparing creative solutions for the purpose of resolving the real world problems. EWB
challenge was introduced for the purpose of solving the issues that our faces with real designs. It
becomes easy to enhance the students of engineering through the use of proper technique and
learning. Through this program the designs that are prepared by the university students are
shared to the community people so that they can implement it in real life. This will enhance the
way of living and will also ensure that the resources are being used efficiently (Poff et al. 2016).
Thus it can be stated that with an efficient and well engaged project it becomes easy to provide
proper facilities towards the community members. However the engineering projects are shared
indirectly towards the community members. Thus it is important to ensure that no student is
under any circumstances get any access it to contact any community members.
Selected challenge project
EWB challenge close it is mainly concerned with providing proper facilities to words each
member of the community. Bonalbo in Australia faces several issues with proper water
management. Does in that area it becomes very essential to manage the water efficiently so that
every member of the village can receive sufficient amount of water (Ntuli and Abu-Mahfouz
2016). The EWB challenge focuses on providing and managing the water supply in the village
area.

Background of the communities
Bonalbo is a community that belongs to Australia. This is located extremely in the forest region
of the Austria. This is considered to be in the outskirts and does not have any proper supply of
water to certain districts. Hence there is a need to ensure that proper water supply system is
implemented within the area so that it can offer better support towards the community people.
The water supply systems will be developed for the purpose of providing continuous supply of
safe water in metered connections to the premises (Michael et al. 2019).
Water Resources Management has been implemented with the objective of managing the
sustainability, economically efficiency and proper use of the water resources. There are certain
factors that are essential for successfully developing a water supply system. This includes
identifying the water pressure, determining the water flow rate, developing mains connection and
designing with proper materials. It is expected that by the end of the project it will become easy
to meet the need of water by the community people (Rajala 2012). By the execution of the
project it is expected that the Bonalbo will be able to meet their daily water needs.
Bonalbo current water supply
With the huge rise in the population of Bonalbo it has been observed that the water scarcity
chances also increased. Bolnalbo has developed several modifications in the surrounding that
includes domestic, industrial, municipal and agriculture systems. This are developed within the
area. This is leading to water scarcity in several areas of Bonalbo (Meng et al. 2018). There are
no proper water resources and that is the main reason behind the huge scarcity of water. Hence
with the EWB challenge it is expected that the water supply system will be enhanced. This will
also lead to storing the resources efficiently and will ensure that the water are supplied to each
member of community sufficiently.

Water supply system is crucial and thus it is important to ensure that proper management has
been carried out within the Bonalbo village for managing the water scarcity. The project plays a
crucial role as this will be capable of reducing the chances of water scarcity and will ensure that

The main problem that is faced with the village and the community members is with improper
management of water. It has been observed that the municipality failed to provide sufficient
amount of water to different parts of Bonalbo. There is a need to implement proper measures that
will be capable of resolving the issues. Water is the key resource and thus it is important to
ensure that proper and efficient engineering solution is developed after managing the key
stakeholders (Siller Cook and Johnson 2016). It is important for every community member to act
effectively so that they can restore maximum water resources at a time. Measures such as
protecting the natural resources along with management will enhance the overall water ratio. The
key objectives that will be fulfilled with the execution of the project are listed below:
