What is the core role of leaders within organizations and policing in particular?
The core role of leaders particularly in policing is to inspire, encourage and help everyone to
effectively meet the challenges of rising crime and public safety. The leader should respect
disparities and diversity and who embrace personal accountability readily while maintaining the
confidence of citizens and those within the UAE organization.
What are the qualities which you think makes great leaders such as those illustrated stand
out?
Vision
Strong and great leaders should have a vision that can enable them to look to the future. They
have a straightforward and interesting clue of where they are going and what they are trying to
achieve.
Courage
Bravery is one of a strong leader's most essential qualities. With the required quality of bravery,
great leaders are prepared to take chances and accomplish their goals without a direct guarantee
to success.
Integrity
Truthfulness is the essence of integrity. Integrity demands that, in every case, a leader should tell
the truth. Truthfulness is the defining attribute of the faith required for any organization to thrive.
Focus

Leaders rely always on the requirements and the condition of the organization. Leaders
concentrate on results, what they, others and the organization have to do for themselves. Great
leaders rely on their abilities, both inside and outside.
Honest
Great leader should be honest in what thing he/she does. The leader should mean his/her words
and should be capable of doing what is meant and said. It is through the honest that the leader
gains a lot of trust from his subordinates. Imagining a leader who does not do what he says. This
is meaning any honest leader would be followed and his decisions would be appreciated by all
other staffs within the UAE organization.
Where do you think these traits and qualities come from?
In my opinion, while everybody is a leader, just a few people are great leaders. I think many
leadership qualities and traits come from within almost directly. These are the attributes that may
be more difficult to train but make it easier for others to lead. I think the qualities of any leader
come within themselves and are shaped by the environment they live in. I think the people they
interact with and all they general life situtions determine the qualities of the person.
Can anybody acquire these types of qualities?
Some individuals are leaders naturally, but with some practice, everyone can develop the skills
and traits needed.
Are leaders born or made?
Behavioral concepts show that via the teaching, learning and monitoring process people can
become leaders. Leadership is a set of responsibilities that can be learned over time through

creation, perception, practice, and experience. However, great leaders are born shown by their
tremendous success in their respective organizations. This means that leaders in most cases and
their characters are shaped by the environment they grow at.In this case it becomes true that
leaders are born by their capacity and degree of leadership depends on the character they
develop. It therefore calls for determination, edurance and self confidence for the leader to
conqure all the challenges he/she might face in leadership journey.
