Pearson (2017), are of the viewpoint that the essential type of business
communication is stated to be the internal form of communication. This is because the
mentioned communication form includes the synergy of both the upward as well as the
downward communication synergies of business communication (Nwabueze & Mileski,
2018). In this connection, the ideal characteristics of the internal type of business
communication are recognised, as explained below.
Increases the integrity in the working environment
Internal communication significantly increases the aspect of integrity in a business
entity as it increases the morality of the employees when they communicate the ethical values
and principles across the upward and downward level of employees (Trevino & Nelson,
2016). For instance, consider the working structure of a financial organisation into context
and examine that the management has asked to keep the confidentiality concerning the
financial funds of the organisation only in the internal and private work sectors of the
organisation and the same can be followed with the help of the internal form of
communication. Thus, it can be stated that with the help of the internal form of
communication, the synergy of ethical behaviour increases in a working organisation and no
unfair means of doing the business is taken into consideration.
The clarity in the communication process
The internal communication ensures that the information that is communicated
amongst the upward and lower level of employees are clear and precise in nature (Laudon &
Laudon, 2016). The same is recorded to provide a meaningful idea to the employees working
at all the levels in a particular firm. For example, in consideration of letting the downward
level of employees beware about a meeting being held on the training needs assessment, the

upward level management has to clearly send a due notice to the employees to remain present
on the meeting day, the failure in the communication will lead to a failure in the meeting as
well.
