Post 1: Analyse characteristics of exemplary business communication
The form of business communication that is selected by the research (HBR) and
facilitator is interpersonal style (Kamin, 2013). Interpersonal style of communication includes
nonverbal and assertive skills with good listening. It is considered essential in workplace
interactions. At the workplace, interpersonal style of communication is greatly valued and it

and facilitating working in teams.

digital communication for becoming effective communicators. While these skills are relevant to

in workplaces but it fails to make networking and in emphasizing. Harvard Psychologists
Professor Cuddy states that while communicating trustworthiness is an essential element in the
evaluation of an individual. This implies when a professional is trying to establish
himself/herself at the workplace, his interpersonal communication style needs to include
trustworthiness, warmth and being approachable.
Interpersonal style of communication focuses on the parameters that value interactions to
reduce as many possible barriers (Ellen Warren Lawyers, 2015). Lack of warmth or interpersonal
style might ultimately interrupt with the message itself. People might perceive the message
differently. For example, an MBA intern who is competent but whom people do not trust much

Effective business communication requires the individual to establish the psychological

people doubting the individual to be manipulative. Being warmth as a communicator reduces
communication barriers and in establishing an appropriate interpersonal style. When the
communicator is warm, then it reduces disinterest or inattention amongst listeners and reduces
lack of courtesy and poor listening skills in the communicator. The overall effectiveness of the
message is greatly enhanced in the interpersonal style of communication.
