Introduction
The term expert system is defined as a computing system which is able to emulate the decision
making capability of the human experts. Mainly, such kind of system is designed and
implemented for solving complex situations by reasoning through bodies of experience rather
than conventional procedural code [1]. The goal of this investigation is to analyze the key
features of the expert system and identify the importance of expert systems in the companies. In
which a journal paper will be analyzed based on the expert system along with the findings of the
paper. The title of the paper is the application of an expert system: A review of research and
applications that were written by Chee and other authors in the year 2016 [14]. There are various
sections will be covered in this report such as the content of the paper, research methodologies,
issues in the article and so on.
Intention and content of the paper
This proposed research is based on the expert system in which the authors reviewed the
applications of an expert system. The authors argued that the development of AI technology
helps companies for growing their businesses and managing the performance of developed
systems [2]. It is observed that the development of an expert system recorded since the 1970s
and it is one of the effective technologies for solving more complex problems. The major
characteristic of the expert system is that it is an explanation ability to review its own reasoning
and evaluate its decisions. The key purpose of this technology is to achieve an integrated
diagnostic process for air conditioning enhancement that can help the companies for growing
their businesses [3]. With the help of this research, the readers can enhance their skills and
understand the significance of an expert system in the business communities.
It is observed that an expert system is a kind of AI technology which is mainly used to deliver a
mechanism for developing the corporate memory of the firm. The application of an expert
system in various field of discipline has been done in this research and the researchers also
identified different types of expert systems used in the companies. The authors examined that
diagnosis, repair and instruction all these are common categories of the expert system used by

From this paper, it is observed that there are numerous applications of an expert system, for
example, management, engineering and manufacturing, military, medical and so on. From the
previous study, it is observed that currently the education process and training systems are using
expert technology in order to control and manage the complete process [5]. Moreover, the expert
system is more effective and useful in order to facilitate teaching and learning processes which
manage the entire process in an appropriate manner. This proposed research analyzed the key
features of the expert system and the authors also reviewed the opinions of other researchers in
order to manage the gaps occurred in the research [6].

The examination technique is a key piece of the examination which helps the creators for

After evaluating and analyzing the adopted article, it is concluded that military, medical and
business sectors are common applications of an expert system which provide a platform for
managing and reducing problems faced by the consumers. In this research, the authors reviewed
and evaluated the different applications of expert system and also highlighted the expert system
framework used by the consumers. The researchers reported that in the context of business
communities, the expert system could be the master storage system that helps the management
teams for eliminating an issue hiring human experts in the workplace. The findings and results of
this proposed study will be beneficial for the companies and readers can analyze the importance
of artificial intelligence and expert system in the optimization of product developments. It is
reported that the selected paper is relevant to the topic of this Unit because the authors provided
their views on the expert system and its applications which is directly linked to the intelligent
system.

It is summarized that the expert system is an effective and reliable technology which can be used
for solving complex problems in the companies. This proposed research reviewed the concept of
the expert system by evaluating a journal article based on the expert system. In which the
researcher adopted the effective research methods and data analysis techniques which helped for
achieving the goals of the investigation. This investigation included the content of the article,
research methods and other sections which can help the students for enhancing their skills in the
context of an expert system. Therefore, it is stated that using an expert system, business
communities, medicals and militaries can manage and evaluate the developed systems and
enhance the performance of the networks by including AI-based expert system.
