‘Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it’, a very well said comment on the term
beauty. It takes time for people to understand the concept of beauty for there are various reason
people build a presumed concept of beauty (Murray, 2013). There are various way intellectual
have tried making the world aware of the true meaning of beauty. The important factor about it is
understand the reasons for the intellectuals to make other people aware of the true meaning of
beauty. Since there are various deviated meanings of beauty, this essay aims to discuss the
extended meaning of beauty.
Beauty is often defined by the symmetry of the face, by the age, color, bone structure,
race, gender, body shape and weight. These definition is derived from the media that portrays the
popular culture or trends that every person is running behind (Vashi, 2015). These are the
perception of the capitalists who for their benefits set trends which in return attract more people
in buying that particular good or service. Beauty is much more than the cosmetic beauty. A good
personality can be called a beautiful or can be called having a beautiful personality. A good
personality is a person who is friendly, helpful and cheerful. Every person loves to be with a
person who would be able to bring the best out of them (Fiske et al., 2018). A person that makes
other person feel good is a person who can be called beautiful. For example, every person cannot
spread positivity around them, people able to motivate other person would be able to make the
change in his or her surroundings. A person cheers his or her family, friends and people around.
It’s the trait of the person that involuntarily makes the other people love the person and feel
good. Various culture, society, region and individuals have different perception of beauty.
However, trait of a person which makes other people feel good can be under the concept of
beauty.

It takes time to understand that the true beauty have very less to do with the face or the
way a person looks. It is mostly dependent on the way a person is as a human being. Another
trait of human being that truly defines beauty is the trait of helpful. A helpful person is beautiful
to all the people (Tooley, 2013). Often it is made believed that beauty is a personality
characteristic that is ascribed or possessed since birth. Beauty can be said as an ascribed
character however it can also be achieved. Kindness makes a person beautiful. Although there
are million people who are called beautiful at the first sight, beauty can take time to recognize as
well. Often beauty is not recognized at first encounter but identified in the difficult times of life.
A person can practice kindness in order to become beautiful as being beautiful is a beautiful
feeling. For example, little acts of kindness such as helping an old person cross the road or
sharing food with someone hungry will certainly be an act of kindness and way to become
beautiful.
A beautiful person is certainly the person who is true to themselves and their soul.
Honesty is a characteristic that makes a person beautiful. An honest person is perceived beautiful
however it is important to mention that it is not only to others but also to self (). A beautiful
person would be someone who is self-confident, rue to self and others. These qualities can make
self and others happy along with beautiful. For example, a person failing to understand the
beauty of honesty would be a person who lie in order to have some benefit. A person telling lie
will not be considered beautiful and it is because people will not be pleased to see a person who
lie. A person can become honest by avoiding the act of telling lies. Speaking truth not only
makes a person beautiful but also trustworthy.
Beauty is not something that is tangible but it is a feeling. It is essential to know the difference
between the societal definition of beauty and the beauty that is felt by heart. A person possessing

traits such as a good personality, helpfulness and honesty are what makes a person beautiful. it is
the only because beauty is in feeling the pleasant and these qualities makes other person feel
good when they are around the beautiful person.
