Business is an entity which is engaged in commercial, industrial or professional activities. These
are the activities where individuals are engaged in introducing and selling the goods and
services to generate revenue from it (AbuJbara and Worley, 2018). Business communication
means the process of communicating for the purpose of business transactions for ensuring
mutual understanding and for the benefits of business. It is the kind of a communication to
maintain the relation between the sender and receiver with and enhance the common
understanding in business. The chosen an organisation in this report is Pearson plc. Pearson
Education is a British and education publishing and assessment services to schools and
Corporation. It is founded in 1844 and headquarter is located in London, England. The report is
being discussed about the impact on the company by the external environment with the help of
different models. The report is also discussed about the competitive position of the organisation
through porter's five forces model.

Strength the company has numerous strength which helps them to thrive in the
Marketplace (Goryushkina and et. al., 2019). It is among the best leading Organisation in
industry as they protect the market share in the existing market and penetrating new market
(Aichhorn and Puck, 2017). It has a strong brand portfolio. The company has great
brand portfolio where they can easily expand their business into a new product categories.
Weaknesses the company has to improve their strategies of choosing the market (Leung,
Sun and Bai, 2017). They have a limited success outside core business it is the leading company
in the retail sector industry but has to face challenges in moving to the other segments of
products and services in the present culture of market.
Opportunities: Company has new environmental policies where they can enhance their
Technology and gain more market share with the new innovative product categories (Bowden,
2020). New customers from online channel the company used to attract new customers buy
satisfying their needs and wants in an effective manner.

Threats: The Company has faced new to regulations of the environment under Paris
agreement could be threat to the certain existing product categories. The enterprise has a thread
of their competitors and there attractive strategies. Increasing trend towards invasion in the
American economy leads to similar reaction from the other government which has a negative
impact on the international sale of the company.
PESTEL analysis
It isn't tool which used by the companies to analyses the Macro environment of the
organisation. It stands for political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal
factors that impact the external environment of Pearson PLC.
Political factor: It is the factor which helps in determining the external factor which has
an impact on the performance of company (Tölkes, 2018). They have any antitrust laws which
have an effect on publishing the books.
Economic factors: Pearson has to face the external factors such as inflation rate saving
rate interest rate foreign exchange rate and economic cycle which helps in determining the
aggregate demand and investment in an economy (Locatelli and et. al., 2020). It has an impact on
the competitive advantage of the firm.
Social factor: the culture of the society and the ways of doing things has an impact on the
culture of an organisation. The standard of education and the level of education in the Pearson
Company an impact on the organisation.
Technological factors: The trends in the technology have disrupting various Industries
across the board. Publishing the books has an impact on the structure of the cost. Rate of
technological diffusion is also high.
Environmental factor: every market has different rules and Standards of the environment which
has an impact on the profitability of the firm. It also depends on the place where company is
offering their products and services (Tung, 2017). These factors include weather climate change
changes in the laws and regulations with regards to the pollution of the environment. The
company used to produce their products with the process of recycling it which helps them in

The company has to tackle the threat of new entrants in the competitive market by
innovating new products and services which attract their customers to avail them (Tölgyessy and
et. al., 2017). The company used to less enter dynamic industry which helps them to reduce the
wind use of extraordinary profits for the new forms which discourage them to work in the
industry.
Bargaining power of suppliers
The company has to buy raw materials from numerous suppliers. Suppliers are dominant
position which can decrease the margin of the company and enhance their profitability from the
market. This can be done by their negotiating power to extract higher price from the forms which
overall increase the profitability.

The customers are often a demanding lot and the company main aim is to satisfy their
needs and wants in an effective manner which will result in the profitability of the firm. The
buyers want to buy best offering available by paying the minimum price as much as possible.

The company has to innovate the new products in market to meet a similar customer needs and

The company has to develop different strategies which help them to survive in the

The company has faced major issues during the operations of the business. The company
has faced many competitive Enterprises which use to offer same products at the lower price
(Stienmetz and et. al., 2020). This resulted in losing the customers trust towards the products and
services which are offered by the company.

The VARK model was designed by Neil Fleming in the year ka 1987. It helps the
students to know more about their preferences. VARK stands for Visual, Auditory, Read/Write
and Kinesthetic there are discussed below in detail:
 Visual learner: it means when the students have a visual learning style which can be
done by sitting in front of the classroom. Where they prefer to use highlights diagrams
and creates graphics and take down the detailed note about the topic.
 Auditory learner in this the student used to listen carefully and focus on the tone of the
speech this can be done by listening videos or audio. When the students working in the
group then it is more beneficial for them as they discuss and exchange their ideas which
enhance their process of thinking. It helps in learning two ways where it helps the
students to conclude their work in an effective ways so that they can address all the
questions properly. This helps the individuals to enhance their skills and knowledge in a
better ways. It is beneficial for the writing as it is done by reading and then writing the
matter.
 Read/write Learner: The students must prefer to have to learning in some format. They
have to prepare the short notes a detailed notes which helps them to remember the thanks
for the long run. They can create diagrams auto short statements in some type of
hierarchy. This helps in creating presentations where they can take a quality of
Information and convert them into a presentation format. The teachers must encourage
their students to take copious notes during the classes so that they can remember it for the
long run helps them in solving the issues with that information.
 Kinesthetic learner: It is the best way of learning through hands on learning opportunity.
The student used to spend more times in their schools and more passively learning. This
helps the students to be more active in the classroom. This helps in encouraging the
students to learn more about the subject matters with the utilization of flashcards for
memorizing it for the long run.
The above mentioned is the VARK model which encourages the students to learn in more
effective manner so that they can learn more and helps in attaining their career objective. The

students are required to follow the guidance from their mentors in order to achieve their
objective of life. They are the one which always use to guide properly with their experience.
They help them in attain their productive in a productive ways.
Skills developed
Skills are always used to attain the main objective of career. To complete this report I
have develop many skills and helps me in attaining the main objective of myself. There are
several schools which I have developed in completing the report some of these are as follows:
 Communication skills I have developed my communication skills during the completion
of this report. As during this report I have to interact with my and colleagues to
overcome with the issues which are faced by me. I have developed both verbal and
written communication skills as I had made presentations to determine the impacts of
external factors on the chose an organisation. It helps me in managing the affairs of the
project so that I can learn more about the questions which I have addressed in the
project. When any student has not good communication skills which will be resulted in
failure of the project as the bad the interaction with the other people leads to
inappropriate information regarding the topic. I have used simple and appropriate
language which helps me in interacting in more effective manner and enhance my
quality of work.
 Information Technology: it is skills where I learnt to use Microsoft Office different
programs so that I can easily complete my project. It means when I assigned fro the
report then I decided that I will use Microsoft word to draft my report in a representative
way. This will enhance the quality and representing the report in an effective ways. This
helps in using the best software to address the tasks of the project. This helps me in
saving the cost, time and budgets of mine so that I can quickly complete my project in an
effective manner.
 Problem solving skills: I have learn to solve different problems at the same time this
helps me in gathering information and conduct quality of research to overcome with the
issues which are faced by me during the submission of the project. The problem solving
skills helps me in determine the different strategies which help me in solving the issues.
It is beneficial for the learning and developing my own skills and knowledge this can be
useful to address the future problems in the projects. This helps me in solving complex

situations without any bias and helps in managing the project in an effective manner.
This helps in determining the positive attitude towards the problems and helps me in
delivering the results on time and within the budgets.
 Scheduling and Time Management: I have to develop the strategies which helps me in
managing the time in an effective manner. This leads to save the time and helps me in
saving my other resources. Time management is clearly required to manage the skills to
attain the objective of the project. It helps in determining the well defined plan of the
projects. This leads to the enhancement of the scope of the project. This helps in saving
the time and money of mine so that I can invest less and get more outcome from it.
 Working with others this project helps me an interacting with different kinds of people to
gather the different information to address the question of this report. I have a very great
experience to work in a team during the unit as I have developed leadership skills which
enhance my communication skills which helped me in sharing ideas with others.
