The purpose of the paper is to construct an extended definition essay dedicated to a
type of person. The type of person will determine the theme of this essay. The type of person
selected for this paper is an extrovert. An extrovert is a type of person, which can be
distinguished through distinctive personality traits. This type or category of a person was
identified by Carl Jung. This type of person starts reflecting personality traits with growing
age. This type of person differs from an introvert.
Divided Thesis Statement: An extrovert is considered a people person due to the
characteristics involving gregariousness, energetic and assertiveness.
II. Gregariousness
a. Support: Extroverts are considered to possess the ability to talk to people or groups
with ease due to the quality of holding on their confidence The nature or characteristic of
gregariousness results in healing someone's loneliness and make people feel cared for.
Gregariousness is the quality that involves the nature of being warm and genial1. The quality
of gregariousness helps in the contribution of the social environment by the reflection of
positivity, compassion, and interest.
