There are different individual learning needs that are important to be identified and met.
For instance, people with hearing problems have a need of more visual learning tools. Similarly,
people who have mobility problems require accessibility within rooms. All these aspects could
appropriately be identified through interviews, as well as initial assessment.
In addition, identification of these needs are important to identify so that more personal
attention is given to these requirements that helps in enhancing motivation of these individuals,
as well as to ensure equality within the company and provision of equal opportunities.
In context of addressing these needs, the support which could be given is to install ramps
within the infrastructure in order to ensure mobility of specific individuals. Moreover, more
presentation and graphical presentations must be provided to provide training to people with
hearing issues (Beuran and et. al., 2016).
Task 2
2.1 Explain ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
It is imperative to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for individuals to
satisfy their diverse needs. For instance, physical needs of individuals include proper equipment,
ventilation and room temperature. To enhance the safety, the tools must be tested prior to usage.
As for ventilation, the working environment must suit the diverse needs of individuals so that
their engagement is intact. For this, heaters and air conditioners must be presented in venue's
facilities.
To ensure support, social and learning needs would be addressed. In context, of former,
the seating arrangements would include periodic rotations, which would help in enhancing the
interaction within individuals. Moreover, for the latter, SMART outcomes would be formed,
which would help in setting up targets for each learner for their performance. To support the
same, regular feedbacks would be given along with communicating the expectations in terms of
eyelash extensions to ensure effectiveness within their performances.
2.2 Explain importance of promoting appropriate behaviour and respect for others
In the field of cosmetics and beauty, it is imperative that appropriate behaviour and
respect is promoted within the company appropriately. For instance, inclusive teaching

behaviour is promoted. The reason for this is because it would allow them to develop a sense of
inclusion, along with ensuring a proper structure within the company in terms of ethics and
lawful working (Anstey and et. al., 2016). Promoting proper behaviour and respect would help
Eyelash Technician Trainer in maintaining effective and healthy environment at workplace and
enable each individual to treat other people respectfully. It would also assist in keep all the
trainers happy and satisfied and ensuring more participation of each individual in training. In
Beauty industry, appropriate respect and behaviour would be accomplish through instituting

Task 3
3.1 Explain how the teaching role involves working with other professionals
While working in the beauty industry, it is necessary for individuals to work with other
professionals. Working with other professionals will include liaising with learning support team
in order to address the specific learning needs, attending meetings and contribute towards
problems or issues under discussion, co-tutoring or team teaching with other staff members,
communication with administrative staff members in order to make sure that learners have been
enrolled with relevant awarding firm etc. Hence, for Eyelash Technician Trainer, the most
prominent professionals are managers and technicians. It would be expected to provide the
performance reviews to managers for further action plans to ensure improvement. Moreover,
additional support from mangers would be required when there would be bad performance
reviews, that would require a professional insight. As for technicians, the information about
different techniques, tools, along with queries associate with the same would be communicated.
In this, the additional support would be associated with training learners about new tools and
techniques related to eyelash make up (Deissinger, 2015). Support of manager would help in
providing training to trainees effectively and prepare professional of eyelash extensions to work
in beauty industry. So, trainers needs to work in cooperation with their trainees, managers and
other professionals throughout his/her career.

4
Document Page
There are several boundaries that are evident between the teaching role and other professional
ones. For instance, there might be a situation where tools such as Lash Tweezer might cause
problems. Hence, this might pressurise me in mending the same quickly by stepping into the role
of a technician. Moreover, another situation could be becoming too friendly with learners which
might cause ineffectiveness in terms of provision of support. Thus, it is necessary for me to be
familiar with my limitation as I cannot support the learners outside their working environment,
as it is not part of my professional ethics as an Eyelash Technician Trainer. It is very necessary
for me to be friendly with trainees and provide them with appropriate support so that the issues
that they face while training can be resolved effectively. It would also help in ensuring their
more engagement in training session which enables me to provide them with adequate learning
so that they will be able to apply eye lash extensions in proper and effective manner.
3.3 Describe points of referral to meet the needs of learners
It is necessary that all the needs of learners are quite effectively addressed and for which,
sometimes it is required that some referrals are also given to them in order to improvise their
state of living. For instance, one point where intelligent judgement could be exercised is in the
case of immigration difficulties. For this purpose, they would be referred to embassies and
immigration officials that would be tending to their needs. Moreover, in case of substance abuse,
several organisations, for example National Health Service or certain rehabilitation centre would
be referred to employees who need to overcome the problem (Crispino and et. al., 2015). A
teacher sometimes may find out the requirements of some learners that influence their learning
process. These problems may include transport, money or family issues. The capability to help
learners with numerous problems may have in a teacher, however, some problems of learner
may call for assistance elsewhere like in the illness case. Thus, it is necessary for teacher to
always have awareness regarding the places to refer a learner relying on the issue he/she is
facing. Apart from this, in order to meet the requirements or needs of learners effectively, some
other points of referrals includes ensuring that topics and materials are presented in such a
manner that these are erogenous to equality and diversity, use of appropriate terminology or
vocabulary while communicating with learners, awareness regarding limits of responsibilities
etc.

2.2 Explain importance of selecting teaching and learning approaches, resources and
assessment methods
There are different reasons as to why teaching and learning approaches, resources and
assessment methods must be selected. For instance, they have diverse learning styles, which
requires approaches to be as per these aspects. Moreover, they might be suffering from physical
issues such as hearing problems, which then needs effective selection of teaching and learning
approaches. As for eyelash extension training, these approaches would be group discussions,
PowerPoint presentations and tutorials, which would help in serving needs of different
individuals within the organisation (Hunter, 2018). With the help of group discussions,
individuals or learners will be able to gain more knowledge on application of eyelash extension.
As group discussion includes various members with diverse skills and knowledge, it would be
beneficial for learner in gaining deep knowledge. Apart from this, power point presentation
approach helps learners in learning in most effective way by seeing images and pictures with
adequate description of the study area. Moreover, selection of appropriate assessment methods is
important as it helps trainer in analysing the extent of knowledge that learners gain by attending
the learning session. Utilization of appropriate resources for teaching and learning is crucial as it
helps in providing learning to learners in an effective way.

constructive and periodic feedbacks would be the technique which would be utilised by adopting
personal interviews, which would help them in analysing their shortfalls and motivate them to
work them appropriately. Apart from this, application of appropriate motivational theory can be
helpful in motivating and engaging learners in learning sessions. In addition to this, selection of
appropriate communication and learning style will provide an ease to learners to understand
what trainers want to say. Instead of using other style, use of visual learning style would be more
effective for learners in gaining adequate knowledge regarding the area in an effective manner.
Moreover, use of positive competition in learning session would help in encouraging more
learning. In context of Eyelash Technician training, it is very necessary to ensure that all the
students are work collectively and the groups are fair and balanced. So, ensuring collective
working is also the way to engage and motivate learners appropriately.
2.4 Summarise ways to establish ground rules with learners
Ground rules within the organisation are very important for Eyelashes technician training,
as it is a task of precision and effective focus. Hence, the several ways to establish these include
involving the learners in brainstorming sessions to make the rules, getting it approved by higher
authorities, setting up punishments and appraisal criteria, as well as periodic communication of
the same to learners. This could be done through group discussions and negotiations, which
would be beneficial in setting up agreed upon rules that contribute within the company
effectively (McGrath and Powell, 2016). By group discussion, various ways to set up ground
rules with learners can be determined by trainer which helps in establishing and implementing
the most appropriate rule. Apart from this, group work or team work would also be a benefit of
establishing ground rules with learners. This helps in encouraging group working and performing
the task in most appropriate way. An another way for Eyelashes technician to establish ground
rules is to work together with learners by the discussion and negotiation process. It allow learner
to recognise the thing which is acceptable and which is not, providing them a sense of
accountability. This also allows learner to initiate collective working and encourage some
aspects like respect for others, listening etc.
GROUP C
Task 1
1.1 Explain the purposes of types of assessment used in education and training
9
Document Page
There are different types of assessment used in education and training within Eyelashes
extension training. For instance, initial training is one type, purpose of which is to ensure
induction of individuals towards becoming an eyelashes technician. The needs that are required
to be identified in this aspect are their learning styles. Another type of assessment is holistic
assessment, where each aspect such as knowledge, skills and attitudes are assessed. Its purpose is
to appropriately assess the overall competence of individuals. Apart from this, holistic
assessment covers various job specification of qualification aspects at the similar time. This type
of assessment is more quicker and efficient and enable learners to integrate performance and
knowledge. In education and training, the main purpose of holistic assessment is to accomplish
quality assessment systems. In this, multiple sources for gathering information are utilizes on
eyelash extension and to administer feedback to guide and support learning. Summative
assessment is a formal type of assessment which is devised by an awarding firm will recognize
the qualification. This assessment is little stressful and a learner sometimes fail in result. Its
purpose is to evaluate the learning of a learner in the end of instructional unit through comparing
it against standard.
1.2 Describe the characteristics of different methods of assessment in education and
training
It is highly imperative that the characteristics of each method of assessment in education
and training are identified in order to understand the nature of them effectively. For instance,
group discussions are participative, which requires all members to be included within discussions
of eyelashes extension training. Moreover, tests is another assessment method, characteristic of
which is that it could be calculative. Another assessment method are multiple choice test, which
are quite objective with multiple choices provided in one question. Presentation is the another
assessment method in training and education as it offers individuals to insert shapes, images,
animation, transitions etc. which in turn helps trainer in accessing the knowledge of learner. This
aids in gaining more attention of the learners and provides an opportunity to individual to
establish herself/ himself at workplace. Apart from this, case study is also a method in which
trainers ask to learners to evaluate a situation which is hypothetical, an incomplete event or an
actual situation and resolve the issue. To acquire good results, a positive attitude from trainers is
require. Providing constructive feedback, sharing goals and listening skills will assist the learner
to enhance their skills and to continue with next step of training.
10

1.3 Compare the strengths and limitations of different assessment methods
The above mentioned assessment methods also possess several strengths and limitations.
For instance, while group discussions ensure collective development, it could cause major
conflicts. Moreover, tests are very much appropriate in analysing theoretical and practical
knowledge of learners, however, it might take a lot of time to be analysed and produced as a
feedback. In addition to this, for MCQ tests, due to their objective nature, these could be assessed
quite quickly. However, its major drawback is that it could be very ineffective in judging the
conceptual and practical knowledge of individuals who have opted for eyelashes extension
training. Hence, all these methods have their different approaches, and are suitable for different
scenario which could be involved in the training at different intervals effectively (Hošková-
Mayerová, 2016). Teaching act as source to inherit knowledge and information from others
who teaches. It is a process through which they develop and prepare leaders and individuals
towards success. Also, values, beliefs, behaviour take place in individual life so that a positive
environment occur.
1.4 Explain how different assessment methods can be adapted
The methods mentioned above could effectively be included within the training in order
to address individual needs of the organisation. For instance, group discussions could be used in
order to assess new equipment and tools for eyelashes extensions, which would reflect the
mindset and expressive behaviour of each of the learners involved in the activity.
Another method of MCQ testing could be adopted effectively to judge the conceptual and
theoretical knowledge of individuals. Furthermore, these could also be included in context of
assessing the working culture of the company which is necessary within the beauty industry to
ensure highest consistency within the work.
As for tests, they could be used in variety of manners within the working. For instance,
one test could be associated with real time extension test, which would require all the learners to
adopt different tools and tactics and practice their skills upon dummies for assessment.
Moreover, theoretical tests could also be included within the working, which would help in
assessing how best the individual has knowledge about different concepts, theories, techniques
and processes of eyelashes extension (Majumdar, 2015).
Hence, all these techniques are very crucial and important within the process which are
required to be adopted as an Eyelashes Technician Trainer. Moreover, it is necessary that each of

these techniques are applied to an appropriate extent which would help in assessing different
aspects,s kills and behaviours within individuals.
Task 2
2.1 Explain why it is important to involve learners and others in the assessment process
Within the assessment process, it is necessary that the learners and others are involved
within the overall experience to ensure effectiveness within the same. For instance, learners
would be assessing their scores and different skills closely, which would help them reflect on
things and concepts that are yet to be learnt by them. Moreover, they would also be provided
with ample opportunities in terms of acquiring and delivering feedbacks to the assessor, which
would ensure communication in terms of what is effective and what aspects are yet to be
improvised (Herron, 2016).
In terms of others, peers could also be involved within the assessment process, as they
would have a more personal approach in terms of enhancing the skills and mindset of individuals
working to becoming eyelashes technicians themselves. All these would ensure development of
skills and competencies of learners in a progressive and effective manner, which is beneficial for
the process and would ensure a constructive development of individuals.
2.2 Explain the role and use of peer and self-assessment in the assessment process
Both the peer assessment, as well as self assessment play effective roles within the
assessment process. As for the former, the role which they play within the assessment is
associated with enhancing the engagement of learners, due to more personalised and effective
approach within the process of training. Furthermore, it could be used in several ways. For
instance it could be used anonymously by not revealing the name of the individual who has
provided the feedback. Or, direct feedbacks could be given effectively which would ensure
communication in a personal and one-to-one manner(Pfeiffer, 2015).
As for the role of self assessment, it is very much important as it plays the role of
increasing the awareness among individuals in context of their skills, knowledge and
experiences. Furthermore, another role which they play is for the learners to actively
communicate their shortfalls and decide on the action plan which they wish to take on forward.
In terms of its usage, this could effectively be used by personalised reflections through learning
journals, which would appropriately be reflecting the assessment done by learners themselves,
along with their approach forward.
12
Document Page
2.3 Identify sources of information that should be made available
There are several types of information that Eyelashes Technician trainer must make
available to the learners opting for training in eyelashes extension. For instance, one such
information within the assessment process is related to the assessment standards. These would be
the judging criteria, along with expectations for each learner of how they are expected to perform
throughout the course of training.
Another information in this regard is the specification of timings which would be related
towards accomplishment of the training. This is crucial in terms of highlighting that the
individuals would be required to achieve the set expectations till that time frame in order to pass
the set training effectively (Dubey and Gunasekaran, 2015).
Moreover, guidelines and manuals must also be provided to learners which would be
specifying the approaches which they could adopt to ensure effectiveness within their working
and approach as a trainer.
Task 3
3.1 Describe key features of constructive feedback
A constructive feedback is the one that is factual and yield all the knowledge about the
needed the changes and modification in a systematic manner. Beside this, as an Eyelash
Technician, the strategy of providing a specific feedback on contrary of a journal feedback is
more suitable. The Eyelash technician should properly specify the name of individuals to whom
feedback is addressed and provide detailed information about the accomplished activity and the
task that dose not meet the criteria and expectation. Beside this, some predetermined goals can
also be set for individuals and a two way communication and participation can also be allowed
for learner to comment on feedback that lead better understanding in students and ails facilitates
better result in future. Teaching as informal makes the process easy and flexible between both
party learner as well as person who teaches. But besides this too much flexibility should be
avoided because it can distract the learners from their limit and standard. Professionally people
behave differently when its comes to teaching process. Their way of talking, teaching,
communicating are different from informal way. Thus, it is important for both to know the line
of boundaries between learners as well as teachers.
3.2 Explain how constructive feedback contributes to the assessment process
13
Document Page
A constructive and factual feedback contribute in assessment process through providing a
better guidance to learner and also motivates them to act on the their assessment to have
improvement in their performance. The constructive feedback provides a better control and
check over the work and performance learner and also identify the areas where improvements
can be made to have more efficiency in their performance. Beside this, the control lead by
constructive feedback also ensure focus on targets and outcomes and yield achievement of
objectives on time, thus contributes to assessment process of learners (Eichhorst and et. al.,
2015). Along with this, through feedback areas where mistakes have been made, including the
ways to overcome from the same can be easily identified. This would also encourage learners to
think in critical way, about work and reflect on what need to be done, to provide better result.
The main objectives of constructing a feedback is to justify the learners how marks of them have
been driven. It also promotes effective conversation between learners and assessors for
improvement of grades, with identification of qualities that need to be done in student work.
3.3 Explain ways to give constructive feedback to learners
The two most common ways of giving feedback to learners includes descriptive and
evaluative feedback. Descriptive feedback is provided by a Eyelash technician to improve
learning by indicating to the learner what they needs to improve while Evaluative feedback is
used to measure learners achievements with the help of a score or a grade. Further, use of a
formal written feedback is made when Eyelash Technician wants a proof of work and descriptive
way of feedback is made. On contrary, verbal feedback is used to provide better guidance and
explain the areas of improvement in a more effective way. Use of verbal feedback is better as it
reduce the chances of misconception and also facilitates better communication (Henry, Hill and
Leitch, 2017). Teaching can be in two ways formal as well as informal. As formal/ professionals
person who is in teaching process guides learners in a formal way that means they are highly
expertise and skilled person. Whereas informal teaching occurs that can be done by anyone
based upon knowledge and relationship. Learners behaviour is different in both formal as well as
informal way. Different behaviour and outcomes of people depends upon individual perception.
Thus, a teaching process should be considered as map which gives direction in individual's life
and nurture learners towards their goals as well objectives.
Task 4
4.1 Explain the need to keep records of assessment of learning

Keeping records of assessment of learning is beneficial for both learner and assessor as it
provide documents and records for evaluation of performance and reassess the activity in future.
This, also facilitates a record that helps in analysis regarding which learner needs more help and
guidance and facilitates better understanding about what learners actually needs to improve their
performance in future. Copies of certificates and observations reports provide an additional proof
of learning in case of learner loses their certificates. These assessments help in revising the older
information as well as guidance. Brainstorming can also be used as effective assessment tool
because it assist in making brain and basis of learning strong. Records in learning also assist both
the party teachers as well as learners to re-access the knowledge that was shared and learned. So,
it helps them to improve their basics more strong and guides them that where they have ton

4.2 Summarise the requirements for keeping records of assessment in an organisation
Keeping records of assessment is useful for both assessor and learner but their are some
legislative requirements that should be meet by an organisation before keeping such records.
According to the provisions of Data protection act, 1998, personal data acquired by any
organisation should be processed and stored lawfully and the data should be obtained only for
specified and lawful purpose. Beside this, Personal data acquired should be adequate, relevant
and not excessive in relation to the purpose for which it has been processed and acquired by the
organisation (Abele and et. al., 2015). A proper record of learning and teaching assist in
improving the skills and knowledge of both the party. Formal and informal teaching both are
required to maintain and keeps the record with them so that whenever there is need of older
information, they have access and sources to get that knowledge as well as data. It makes them
aware about their previous and current progress of knowledge. Moreover, maintaining records
also act as backup and which can be used by other learner also. So, it is essential to properly
maintain and keep the records in for teachers as well as learner both.
