Part A
a) In less than one page, justify this project in terms of the Australian Computer Society

Code of Professional Conduct.

As worker in USQDevelopment as a programmer, our team has prepared a project named as

‘EZEE Internet for your Office’. This project is introduced to provide an effective, economical as

well as the efficient Internet environment in office because this project is used to filter the

distractions such as latest weather, real-time news and the social media. This project can be

justified in terms of the Australian Computer Society Code of Professional Conduct with the help

of points given below:

As per the clause 1.2.1 (d) of ACS professional code of conduct, this fact is to be
considered that any profession traverses different other professions and it has

implications for the other social systems as well as organizations so this project is helpful

in maintaining a sound professional environment so that all the activities in business can

be only work related and distractions free (
Leicester, 2016).
As per the clause 1.2.1 (g) of professional code of conduct, the confidentiality and the
privacy of the information of others should be maintained and due to no access on the

social sites, this confidentiality can be maintained.

As per the clause 1.2.6 (a) of professional code of conduct, professionals should take a
calm, informed and knowledgeable stance on their professional work by complementing

their engagement and enthusiasm in it and by using this project all the distractions can be

removed at workplace and the professional’s productivity will also increase.

Hence this project can be justified in the terms of ACS professional code of conduct.

b) In less than one page, comment on this new feature also in terms of the Australian
Computer Society Code of Professional Conduct.

Before the final delivery of ‘EZEE Internet for your Office’ project team leader told us to add

a new feature which enables the administrator to allow several certain connections to bypass

the filtering, but it should also be implemented in the project that all those traffics will be

recorded, monitored and controlled. This new feature is ethical and as per the ACS

Professional Code of conduct. As per the clause 1.2.1 (a) of professional conduct, the people

potentially impacted by the work should be identified and their interests should be

considered. So it is necessary at the workplace so at least administration should have the

access to different social sites so that they can make contacts to the people identify them

affected by the work (
Al-Saggaf, et. al., 2017). There may be requirement of different
surveys to be made online. As per the clause 1.2.1 (c), they will require to advise to the

stakeholders of the conflicts and interests in the organization, for that purpose such access is

required. And these all activities will be recorded and monitored so there are no or minimum

chances of unprofessional behavior by using internet at workplace. The clause 1.2.6 will also

be considered by featuring these new specifications in the project. According to this clause,

the professionalism is required to be maintained at workplace and as the activities of

administration are monitored then an appropriate action can be made on them if they misuse

the internet. As per my point of view, this new feature to be added in the project also

compiles all the requirements of the Australian Computer Society Professional Code of

Conduct.

c) Explain why you will or will not accept the task.
I will accept this task because as we all have made efforts continuously for 24 months to

complete this project but as per the views of team lead a new feature should be added in this

project which can enable the administrator to allow the certain connections to bypass the

filtering. It is a requirement of the feature that all these traffics will be recorded and

monitored. For this purpose I will not need to make any changes or work in this project.

Protocol network analysis tools are required to be used in this project so that all the activities

can be maintained and recorded and this is an easy task for me to do as I am from technical

background. The access to different sites can be provided to administrator. These sites are

required to be unlocked with the customized access and after doing so this additional feature

will be implemented in the task. This is also my ethical duty to follow all the commands

given by my project team leader as he is my senior and as a professional, I m obliged to

follow the commands given by him. This is my professional duty to complete my task with

due care and the attention should be made towards all the aspects of the project. If this

project requires some perfection by adding this feature, it is my duty to complete the task by

adding these features. I will definitely accept this task to fulfill my professional duties and to

make the project perfect as per the requirements of my organization.

Part B
I remember a case at my own organization which as per my point of views was moral but not

ethical. I was working in an IT organization providing IT solutions to their clients. There is a

basic difference between Morals and ethics because ethics refer to a set of rules provided by any

external source such as code of ethics and code of professional conduct. Whereas morals refer to

the principles of an individual on his own that what is right and what is wrong (
Vaughn, 2015).
Talking about my experience at workplace, one of colleague had a lot of work pressure at office

and he was required to complete that work on given deadline. He collected all the information

regarding the client in a USB and took that to home. He forgot to take permission from the

management to do so. He completed his work at home and forgot that USB at home. This

situation created an ethical dilemma at work place. In the given case, this situation was unethical

as it contradicted the code of ethics of the company to maintain the privacy and confidentiality

regarding the client’s information. But it was not immoral as he took such information only to

complete his work on time and had no wrong intention. Hence this is the case study I have

experienced which in my thoughts was moral but not ethical.
