This document is a student's project proposal for the FADM3004 Final Major Project, focusing on the theme "Romance to Revolution - The World of Faberge." The proposal includes a reflection on the student's foundation journey, outlining learned techniques, strengths, and weaknesses, particularly in the context of exhibition analysis. It details the research methodology, employing a realism philosophy, deductive approach, and mixed research methods. The project involves primary research through visiting the exhibition and secondary research via literature review. The student plans to gather feedback from peers and academic mentors to ensure successful project delivery, emphasizing the importance of practical observation and experimentation in research to provide authentic content for real-world investigations. The proposal concludes with a proposed research sources, bibliography, and project action plan with a timeline.

Romance to Revolution - The World of Faberge
Section 1: Review (approx. 150 words)
In this section, reflect on your foundation journey – what techniques have you learnt?
What are your strengths and weaknesses? Tell us about what you have experienced on
the foundation so far.
I have learnt about the exhibition techniques based on the Romance to Revolution - The World
of Faberge. It includes the learning techniques about the ideas and creativity that was shown in
the exhibition relating to the area of Romance to Revolution - The World of Faberge. The
journey was all about the visiting and seeking knowledge about new things that has several
strengths and weaknesses. For example, my foundation journey is based on the gathering
about the information which are demonstrated in the exhibition. Therefore, strengths includes
that the demonstration done in the exhibition was almost perfect because it was easily
understood by me that how the entire management is being done. Weaknesses includes that
the illustration done in the exhibition was not in a sequential manner so it was becoming
difficult for me to integrate and make relations among the objects kept in the exhibition.
Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 250 words)
Explain your approach to the theme. Give an overview of what you plan to
include in your portfolio – what techniques will you use? What primary and
secondary research will you conduct? What final design outcome will you
create?
The current plan will include the entire research methodology onion model. It has total six
layers. Research philosophy is the uppermost and first layer of the model. It includes the
positivism and realism along with the interpretivism and pragmatism research philosophy.
The current research will use the realism philosophy. Research approach is the second layer
of the model. It includes the deductive and inductive research approach. The current

research will use the deductive approach. Research strategy is the third layer of the model. It
includes the experiment and survey along with the case study and action research. Moreover,
grounded theory and ethnography along with the archival research are also covered in
research strategies. The current research will use the experiment strategy. Research choice is
the fourth layer of the model. It includes the mono and mixed along with the multi methods
of research choices. The current research will use the mixed method of quantitative and
qualitative choices. Research time horizon is the fifth layer of the model. It includes the
cross sectional or short term and longitudinal or long term research time horizon. The
current research will use the cross sectional or short term time horizon. Research techniques
and procedures is the sixth layer of the model. It includes the data collection and data
analysis methods such as primary and secondary types of data collection methods in
research techniques and procedures. The current research will use both the primary and
secondary research in the form of literature review and experiments by personally visiting
the exhibition.

Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 100 words)
Evaluate and assess what you have planned to do in the previous sections – will you get
peer feedback? Will you get feedback from the Academic Mentors? How will you ensure
you are successful at delivering your proposed project?
I have planned to conduct the entire research based on the personal experiment and deliver the content as per my
gatherings of the data collection in order to represent in a more authentic manner. I will make sure that I could
get the positive feedback from the peers and academic mentors. I will make sure that I will deliver my proposed
project in a successful by personally reviewing all the data that is drafted into the information with proper
justifications and evidences for better and strategic representation of it.
Conclusion: It is concluded that experimentations and practical observations in research is
an important concept to learn and study so that its applications can be applied in the real
world investigations. This is because it helps in providing the real time facts and authentic
content to deliver for further research as per the needs and requirements. Therefore, it is
important to investigate about the exhibition in a practical form so that the research can
be based on the actual data and statistics.
