INTRODUCTION
In the current scenario, digital technology is enhancing day by day and it has also covered the
business world (Reis et al., 2018). Business organizations are using digital technology in order to
improve their performance and increasing profitability. Digital applications are useful in
supporting business activities. It has been analyzed that there are different digital tools and
techniques which are helpful in managing the business appropriately. Social media is one of the
most effective platforms where the business organization can promote their services and
products. It is also helpful in interacting with the customers and improving healthy relations
with them. The main aim of this assignment is to understand the value of information
management in the digital service organization (Karanasios et al., 2019). There are many
organizations which are providing digital services to the customers. The information
management is helpful in cloud computing, data analytics, Governance, Security and Quality.
The different concepts and framework of information management will be discussed in the
report.
This assignment is focusing on Facebook that is a popular organization (Partridge et al., 2018).
Facebook, Inc. is an American online social media and social networking service company that is
situated in Menlo Park, California. Mark Zuckerberg is the founder of Facebook and it was
founded in the year 2004. This company is working in the industry of internet and having an
effective brand image in the market. As per the evaluation of 2018 around 32,000 employees
are working in the organization. The information management is helpful for Facebook in
providing internet facilities and services to the customers accurately (Levallet and Chan, 2018).

Reis et al (2018) state that digital technology has changed the way of business. Information
management is the key to success in today's global economy. In a digital business organization,
information management plays an effective role in managing data, quality, and security. Rapid
innovation and digitalization have been really beneficial for Facebook in providing better
internet and social media services to its customers (Long, 2018). Facebook is a platform where
people can get connected to each other very easily. The business organization uses this app to
promote their services and products to attract their customers. The rise of the internet and
social media has changed the mindset of the people very much. Information management is
helpful in enhancing the capacity of the organization by which it can attain success in the
industry easily. The information and data that is presented on the page of Facebook, private
account of peoples, software programs and quality are managed by the information
management. It has been found that information management can be used in different
industries but it is having different essentiality in the digital business organization like Facebook
(Hills, 2018).
According to Karanasios, et al (2019) Information management (IM) plays an important role in
Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Governance, Security and Quality. Cloud computing is
Internet-based computing, whereby shared servers provide resources, software, and data to
computers and other devices on demand, as with the electricity grid. It is a virtual space which
maintains the data appropriately with the information management system. Keeping files in the
cloud can be good rather than keeping it in a hard drive (Darnton and Giacoletto, 2018). Cloud
is a systematical framework in which a person can store their data and find it later easily. The
whole process of cloud computing is based on IMS. Facebook is a multinational organization
which is providing services globally so that the organization needs to manage its services
properly. Information management is the most effective tool by which Facebook can manage its
internet facilities and other social media services successfully (Xing, 2018). Google search
engine, eBay e-business platform, Amazon e-business platform, Amazon cloud services, Apple
iPhone, Apple Store application platform, PayPal payment system, Square payment system,

Twitter, Wikipedia, Microsoft 365 cloud computing, Netflix, LinkedIn and other many business
organizations which are using information management in their business to manage their
services and maintaining quality (Rajaraman, 2018).
As per the review of Levallet and Chan (2018) information management is helpful in
maintaining sustainability in the organization. The growth and development of the business can
be done by using information management accurately. Customer satisfaction is the prior
responsibility of the organization that provides digital services or internet facilities (Abrahim et
al., 2018). Facebook can attain different competitive advantages from the market with the help
of information management. There are different roles of IM like the acquisition of information
from one or more sources, responsible for assuring the quality, accessibility, and utility of
acquired information. Information management holds all the essential concepts of
management like planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, structuring, and evaluating.
The important decisions of the organization depend on the gained information. Facebook need
effective information management to gain accurate information and data by which the
company can gain more value and brand image in the market (Partridge et al., 2018).
CONCEPTS OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
The transaction processing system (TPS)
A transaction process system (TPS) is an information processing system that is mainly used for
collecting data in order to test the reliability and consistency of data (Partridge et al., 2018).
This is easily accessible by which the employees can retrieve the information. It is mainly
designed for processing routine business transactions. This system can automate repetitive
operations in large volume. This is one of the most important concepts of information
management which is used by digital business organizations (Tso and Parikh, 2018).

Management information system (MIS)
It is the process of acquiring, creating, and organizing data. The database can be saved for a
long period of time (Tso and Parikh, 2018). MIS is helpful in managing sustainability, growth,
and discipline in the working system. The financial information and data of the business can be
managed easily with the help of this system. The information management system is helpful in
enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.

Decision support system (DSS)
The decision support system is one of the most important systems of the organization that is
mainly used for taking appropriate decisions for the organization (Tajima et al., 2018). The
process of management and operations can be managed by the DSS system. This is majorly
used by the organizations which provide digital services to the customers. Facebook use this
system to make appropriate decisions for the organization (Partridge et al., 2018).

It has been observed that the IMS mainly works on three elements like People, Process and
technology (CHU et al., 2018). This is helpful in managing the people and their data accurately
and this is also helpful in managing the overall process and data of the organization. Apart from
this, IMS is also helpful in involving technology and different techniques in the organization by
which innovation can be enhanced (Aiello et al., 2018).

Modern business cannot survive for the long run without using information management.
There are different concepts and frameworks of information management which are helpful in
managing the overall performance of the business (Mohammed et al., 2018). MIS is helpful in
managing sustainability, growth, and discipline in the working system which is really beneficial
for the organization. It is an effective tool which is used to support processes, operations,
intelligence, and IT. Data collected by IMS can be helpful in taking the right decisions for the
business. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), IT Management, E-commerce are some subparts
of IMS which are helpful in gaining accurate information. IMS is a continuous cycle that mainly
works on six elements like Identification of information needs, analysis, and interpretation of
information, organization, and storage of information, information use, information access, and
dissemination and acquisition and creation of information. It is helpful in keeping the private
information of users safe and secured (Carpitella et al., 2018).
 Information systems capture data from the organization (internal data) and its
environment (external data).
 The database can be saved for a long period of time.

 MIS is helpful in managing sustainability, growth, and discipline in the working system.
 It works according to the situation of the business in order to manage the quality of the
services (Shareef et al., 2019).

The main aim of this module is to create the ability to apply the factors of an information
system in a digital business organization. The information management system is good for the
customers and organization as well (North and Kumta, 2018). It has been observed that using
poor data quality can be risky for the image of the organization and the personal information of
customers can be leaked. The management can get distracted by the poor data quality by
which the wrong decision can be made which is not good for the organization.

The causes of poor data quality can be understood by the above diagrams. The image is
showing the reasons for poor data quality in the UK which can be improved by using an
effective information management system (Tajima et al., 2018). IMS is mainly helpful for
managing the quality of services, sharing and securing the data easily, enhancing efficiency,
gaining competitive advantages, and record management. Facebook is an online social media
and social networking multinational company which provide internet and social media services
to their customers.
There are different web portals and web pages are working on Facebook and they all have
managed with the help of information management system (Darnton and Giacoletto, 2018). It is
the most effective record manager who can manage the accurate records of users and they can
find it anyway. It has been identified that the uses of digital technology are enhancing in every
field and people are getting addicted to it.
The social media is one of the most effective parts in the life of peoples which is helpful in
gaining information on different fields. Facebook provides opportunities to different
organizations to promote their services and products on their page (Rajaraman, 2018). Social
media is an effective way to connect with people and making healthy relations with them
easily. There are many social media apps are available which can be used by users like
WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, and others. MIS is helpful in managing sustainability, growth,
and discipline in the working system which is really beneficial for the organization. It is an

said that information management can be helpful in managing the organization and its data
