INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industry is one of the most important industry of service sector. The industry
provides wide range of services such as lodging, food and drinks, cuisine, theme parks, travel
and tourism, event planning and much more. Radisson Blu, an international chain in hospitality
industry, has been founded 59 years ago in the year 1960. The hotel has its headquarter in 3
countries and has ownership of around 380 hotels. The assignment will include assessment of
responsibility of facility manager as well as how these responsibilities could be build up in the
context of operational aspects. Furthermore, an evaluation of quality and effectiveness of facility
operations would be done.

environment that would maximise the satisfaction of the customers so that they visit the hotel

There are two levels of facilities management are they are as follows:
Strategically – tactically: at this level facility manager helps its clients or customers to
understand the potential impact of the decision taken by them with regard to space, services,
business risk and cost.
Operationally – at this stage financial manager ensure that the environment is corporate and cost
effective for the purpose of efficient functioning of the occupants.
Major roles of a facility manager are as follows::
There are numerous roles of financial manager such as to communicate efficiently with
the people as well as to ensure maintenance of physical operations(Atkin and Brooks, 2015).
Apart from that, identification of potential issues that may arise at the workplace and then
making efforts to resolve them.

management of the hotel is very efficient. They check the quality and outcome of operations on a
regular basis so as to find out the loopholes and take corrective actions so that the company is
able to maintain and grow its shares. Furthermore, lot of efforts and cost is incurred by the hotel
towards the training and development of employees which has contributed in improving the
productivity of the employees and this in turn has fostered the attainment of the objectives of the
hotel effectively and efficiently(Bowie and et.al., 2016).

From the above assignment, it has been summarised that there are various roles and
responsibilities of the facility manager. These roles and responsibilities are not only restricted
up-to the staff but they also extend up-to the operational management of the building as well as
towards customers. Results show that major responsibility towards staff was to identify the
issues at the workplace and make emphasis on resolving them. Furthermore, the responsibility
towards customer is to ensure their safety and security and responsibility towards operational
management of building is to take care of maintenance and repair of building to prevent it from
