Important factors of Language development and literacy
Parents are observed with some common worries about language development of the
children. However, the interesting fact is that the most important factor associated with
language development of the children are the family and the community. According to the
sociologists, a child gets the basic education from their families only. A child is very much
vulnerable to adopt the behavioral attributes of the parents and the family members they
spend the most time. They tend to adopt or mimic the style of communication the family
members possess. The second most important factor of language development is the
community the child live within. Community is the home for different experienced persons
and they are considered as the assets of the community (Korpilahti, Kaljonen & Verkasalo,
2016). Children spend a major amount of time within the community members from where
they learn about the community culture that also helps in enhancing the language
development.
Secondly, the biological beginning is another factor that impacts the language
development of children. It is based on the nativist theory of language development. The
theory demonstrates that acquisition of language is a process of gaining capacity to perceive,
produce, and utilize the words for effective communication (Vroman, 2018). The theory
stresses on different competitive perspectives to dominate the feature of language acquisition.
Biological or nativist theory demonstrate that language development is based on genetic
programmed structure. One of the famous names of this field is Noam Chomsky. According
to Chomsky children born with an innate device of language development. Contrarily
Vroman, (2018), mentioned about learning with playing. This study develops a firm
connection between physical development and language development. Children increase the
ability of language development by performing some activities with proper assistance of the
educators or the parents.

Basically, from the psychological lens, it can be said that children are born with the
ability to express their selves to acquire self-satisfaction. Psychologists demonstrate various
stages of language development. It begins with mumbling to complete sentence formation.
Children are born with these tendencies to acquire language with the growing age to meet
their need (Symons & Ponzio, 2019). Hence, the parents need to practice good activities for
effective language development among the children. The parents need to communicate
properly with the children and perform related activities with their kids to bring effective
language development. For example, the practice of read aloud will be a better option to
provoke the child to develop language (Korpilahti, Kaljonen & Verkasalo, 2016). Hence,
combining the discussion it can be said that, the factors that impact on the procedure of
language development by the children are – family, community, biological factors, and some
inborn tendencies. From the view of psychology, it can be said that the children develops
their language according to the chronology of the age (Bishop et al., 2017). However, an
undeniable fact associated with language development varies according to the family
practices. A positive and healthy family brings positive language development among the
children.
