It is the duty and the responsibility of the faculty advisor consultant to provide guidance
related to education and consultancy for the students with the successful planning of the
schedules and the recommendation of the courses together with the proper determination of the
appropriate solutions related to education (Pellegrino et al. 2015). The career path that led to the
job profile of the advisor consultants includes some of the following factors. Apart from the
essential qualification and the educational details of the masters degree related to the educational
counseling some of the other requirements for a faculty advisor consultant are the acquirements
of state licensure and the certification of the experience of the work related to advisory
From the details of the interview conducted over a discussion of 20-25 minutes with the
advisor it was evident that the job role of the advisor is quite challenging. The advisor explained
his role of helping the students towards the recognition and the achievement of their educational
goals and stays up to date on the changes of their educational programs. The core component of
the job lies in active representation for the students in the organization or the college. The best
experiences as explained by the advisor in the interview as per his job role lies in the
encouraging and assisting the students towards defining their goals. The most precious thing as
reported by the advisor in his job is to lead and stand as a leader before the students and guide
them in their upcoming challenges of life (Irvin and Longmire 2016). One of the most
challenging part of being a faculty advisor as reported by the advisor is to serve as a resource
person for the alternative solutions towards the problems of confronting the students. While
asked about the day to day issues that the faculty advisor faces in his job profile, the topic and
the issue connected to the use of technology for spreading the success stories together with
analyzing the educational programs was highlighted. The advisor explained how working for

compete and fly down to Suffolk to study their specialization among law, arts, business and
science. Education and degree of education nowadays have become a worldwide business. The
job of a faculty advisor is to guide and convince the students and their parents for pursuing a
particular course which will be beneficial for the student. This furthermore includes convincing
the students to go for a particular program from which the advisor can earn some commissions
and revenues. Considering an own personal career journey, the interview with the advisor was an
eye opener since revealed man things. One of the things that was learned from the interview was
the traits and the skills of leadership of the advisor.
