Fair work act 2009 can be considered as Australian Law that was passed by Rudd
Government. It is a law which reform for industrial relation system among employee and
employers in Australia. It is one of legislation that provide different types of terms and condition
for purpose of employment in Australia and also set out different rights and responsibilities
among different parties for purpose of employment (Bishop and Chan, 2019). It is one of law
that works as foundation for purpose of minimum standards as well as regulation for
employment that consider in workplace system. This law is focusing on different things which
are mentioned below:
It provide various terms and condition for purpose of employment that allow employees
to understands what is expected from them at workplace.
It consist setting of different rights and responsibility for employers, employees and
organisation in context of employment (What is the Fair Work Act, 2022).
Fair work act includes around 10 provision of National Employment Standard and these
standards are essential for employees to be cover through national workplace relation system
despite of size of business, unique circumstances and industry. Aim of these standards is to
safeguard minimum entitlement of working employee in Australia. It is important for business to
be unbiased in this in areas like right of flexibility working, minimum weekly working hours,
personal care and compassionate leave, parental leave, long service leave, public holiday, annual
leave, notices for termination. These laws are important for business as it allow them to ensure
equality at workplace by removing discrimination. It is also important for business in order to
ensure equal employment opportunity at workplace. It is important in order to provide equal
opportunity to different person to get employment and earn for their livelihood.
These standards will helps me in my specific work role in an organisation. It allow me to
work effectively without any partiality. It is also important for me to be involved in any unethical
practices at workplace by showing biasses among employees. This situation also create problem
at workplace by increasing conflict among staff members (Lambropoulos, 2020). It is important
for any organisation to ensure equality and fair workplace practices in order to increase
satisfaction among staff and also motivate them to work hard for giving contribution for
attainment of goals of company. I will communicate these workplace practices with staff
members in meetings with them and also helps them to understand it. I will also ensure that

every employees at workplace should be treated with equality and respect. It is their right to ask
for same treatment as other employees will get. Any discrimination at workplace cannot be right
in both legal and ethical manner. I will ensure that I will treat all employees in equal manner and
following all workplace by shoeing an examples to them. It will allow me to strictly following
these rules and regulation at workplace. I will also declare rewards and punishment to employees
for purpose of getting acceptance of policies of workplace.
