MAIN BODY
Fall of Western Roman Empire
The reason behind the fall of Western Empire was the emperors of the Empire were
concerned more about their safety rather than the safety of the Empire because the discipline
which used to be maintained there was corrupted which made the emperors there anxious
(Kaegi, 2015). There are many theories given by different people on how the fall happened.
Many people who are historians still trying to figure out the real cause of the issue some of them
believe that it was because of control of political power over a territory. The major extent that the
empire gone through on the basis of geographical area was under the ruler Trajan. He ruled a
state which was stretched from Atlantic to Armenia. The population of the people there was huge
in numbers which helped them to get soldiers which were trained and disciplined. Power of the
ruler allowed them to maintain the difference between wealth and status on an extreme basis. It
is believed that the rulers of the Empire had lost their strength to exercise the control in an
effective manner in the areas which belong to Western Region. They failed to rule the Empire
and all that area was divided as they lost their strength which also resulted in the concerns such
as health of the population, economy of the empire. The decline which happened there took more
than 100 years and it began from the year 376. The culture of the Empire was based on the
consistency of the economy. The supply of the water there was not hygienic and the connectivity
of sewage was not proper which led all the garbage on the streets openly which also affected the
health of the animals. It is believed that before the fall each family was needed to have at least 6
children so that they can maintain their population. The reason behind that is the rate of infant
mortality was high as there were many diseases and lack of treatment of medical facilities at that
time. From the year 150 the climate there started to get worse which also led to many deaths and
the opposite rulers took advantage of that and try to invade the empire many times. Many
disasters took place there such as civil wars, Plague of Cyprian. For a short amount of time the
Empire was divided into Empires from East and West that is Gallic Empire from West and
Palmyrene Empire from East. It is also said that corruption in the army and finance was one of
the factors or reasons behind the fall. Till the time the fifth century came they were not capable
to rule the Empire. Apart from that they did not have any kind of resources so that they can
control their courts. They were considered as one of their remarkable resurgences of the power of

people. The bibliometric analysis deals with research on the main topic of decline as well as fall
of the western Roman Empire in connection with climate changes. It is stated by author that a
multitude of paleoclimatic data from different geographical sites, indicates a climate change or
shift away from stability of previous century (Climate and the Fall of the Western Roman
Empire, 2018). Some authors argued and said that some environmental changes and situations
like drought in Central Asia and on set of a cooler climate in North-West Eurasia may have put
Germanic tribes.
