Role of family members of service users in a care home
Family members play very important role in managing quality of the services which have
provided by care workers in NHS. As a family member of a service user I have to play some
basic roles in a care home which have described as under:
As a family member my major role is to give appropriate respect to the rights of care
workers of NHS.
I have to provide appropriate information to service providers about the service user by
which they can provide appropriate service to patient (Healy, 2011).
As a family member, I have to follow the all terms and conditions of the written
agreement which have signed between NHS and me.
Communicating required information about the service user’s daily activities and life
styles to service provider is also a major role in family member.
Payment of the health care services to NHS is considered as a role of family member of
services users (Collins, 2009).
Role of care provider
Care providers play important role in providing quality service to different patients of
care home. I am working as a care provider in NHS. My major roles are:
Providing necessary services to patients as per their physical and mental health is one of
the major role of care provider.
I have to assurer about the quality of the services.
I needs to develop effective communication with family members of service users for
determining the basic needs and requirements of every patients (Role of Health Care
Providers, 2006).
Review of the regular progress of physical and mental health of service users is also
major role of care provider.
Role of external stakeholder
External stakeholders provides appropriate contribution in managing quality of health and
social care organizations. There are different external stakeholders of NHS such as local

authority and council, patients, quality assessors and government, etc. major role of these
stakeholders are described as under:
Local authority and council plays important role in maintaining strategic control at
workplace of NHs which helps in managing the different resources of the organization
such as materials, labour and money, etc.
Patients play important role in improving the organizational performance of NHS.
Role of quality assessor is determining the quality of health care services, developing
quality standards and maintaining high quality of the different services of NHS.
Government of nation play important role in developing different policies, legislations
and regulations for health and social care services which help in improving overall
quality of the services (Identifying and managing internal and external stakeholder
interest, 2015).
