The concept of family as it is reflected in contemporary society
Family is the building block of every society. However family is a complex structure that
is constructed and re constructed with each coming era. The family was a close knit unit in the
early days. There was an oneness and understanding among each and every individual in the
family (Ammerman and Roof 2014). However the family structure is getting divided into smaller
units in the modern contemporary area. This is an exception in my case. My family is very
supportive towards each other.
Describe family strength framework (link to artifact presentation}
I feel that some of the most important aspects that are present in any family structure are
the affection and the support system that we have for each other. For an instance, whenever my
father falls sick due to his regular headaches, we do not have to worry for anything because my
uncles are always there. Right from my child hood I have seen them helping me, my mother and
my brother in managing all the works. I remember that once I was very sick and could not attend

my classes. My cousin sister made it a point to collect all the class notes from my friends and
stay in touch with the school authority so that I do not face any problem. So, this support system
matters a lot. It is because of this that there is a good understanding among one another.
Once we were out for some important work and my little brother was at home. He was
busy playing so he was unwilling to leave. I and my parents were bit tensed as there would be no
one to take care of my brother. She assured us to not worry at all. She was very affectionate
towards my brother and took care of him in the best possible way (Amin 2014).
Description-It was the time of Christmas and all of us were happy. I remember that everyone in
my family was busy making the arrangement.
Feelings-I remember that right from the morning I felt there was something missing. I was not
really happy from within. I was really sad as my cousin sister was not with me.
Evaluation-The bad thing was that I missed my sister a lot. The good thing was that I knew it
was the only time when I would get a chance meets her again. (Smith, Messenger and Soderland
2017).
Analysis
I feel that this was really a very good and cherishable moment. It was at this moment that I could
see all my family members gather in one place. The joy of this family reunion was immense.
Conclusion
I could have called up sister and talked with her via phone or video call before the start of the
family function so that I could fresh up my mind a bit.
Action plan
I will make t a point to contact all my family members during any family occasion so that all can
be at the same place. I will make sure that I stay in touch with them and give them the
information regarding the date and time of the family function some days prior so that they get
enough time to makes a routine for them (Cunningham 2014).

Analysis family strengths framework can be applied as an approach in healthcare practice
It is an important aspect of the healthcare profession. Many patients might collapse due to
fear or strength. It is during these times that the nurses can ask those questions like "tell me
about your family", "tell me about your husband", "Your family is here to meet you".
These statements actually have a good impact on the patients. Most of the patients say that
they are happy to get such good and supportive families. This helps the healthcare professionals
to realize the psychological and the emotional state of the patients (Tseng and Hsu 2018). They
might ask the family members to pay more attention to the patient. The family members must
always be there with the patients. Even the using of such positive and supportive phrases around
the patient help them to fight with their diseases without losing hope and get better soon (Walsh
2016).
So, it can be concluded that family is one of the most important things in man’s life. It must
be our duty to live with our family members in proper peace and harmony. However in the
modern contemporary society, the family structure is getting deconstructed and fragmented.
However if there is proper affection and support among one another then people can live happily
and cherish the happy memories.
