Introduction
The family structure in the contemporary society now is being affected by the number
of factors such as the economic hardships, abuse, divorce, marriage and abortion (Van
Schoors et al. 2015). Now-a-days the entire structure and purpose of the organization has
changed. Now the family organization faces certain issues and consequences. I personally
feel that the consequences can be either negative or positive leading to a larger or smaller
impact. The political communities are also affected by the family structure as the concepts of
marriage, violence, economic hardships. It took me a long time to understand and know the
issues and the effects of a family are different from different perspectives and also different
in different families. According to the stereotypical structure a traditional family which is a
patriarchal institute that has the structure of a male father, female mother and a children. Due
to the changing times of the society, I got to know that the family and the common family
structure is redefined. Thus, there is a need to develop the culture and the aesthetics that is
directly related to the family structure (Morrissey, Hutchison and Winsler 2014).
Discussion
Concept of Family
I believe that family is a functional and integrated unit of society that is present in the
society for a considerate amount of period. Thus, it has acquired the attention and the
imagination of a number of researchers (Sheidow et al. 2014). Hence, family is a matter of
study for research as they are an important part of the society and the most basic unit of study
in many fields such as social work, psychology, economics, sociology and the anthropology.
It is also a basic unit the family medicine. I personally believe that family consider all the
people living together in one house might be wrong, as it might include kinship without being
shared by people, and might exclude the members of the kin who are away from the family

for a temporary period of time. However, my idea of family has failed to identify certain units
that act as families in an economic, social or emotional sense but they do not usually reside in
the same household (Morrissey, Hutchison and Winsler 2014).
Family strength
As per my opinion, family strength is defined as the set of processes and relationships
that help in supporting and protecting families and also the family members, especially at the
time of change and adversity. The strengths of the family assist in maintaining cohesion in
the family at the same time assists in providing support to the growth and the well-being of
each of the individual members of the family. I believe that the successful families always
focus on the social, psychological functions and economic functions that the families need to
perform. People who can reproduce by themselves through raising kids, which can enhance
harmonious and stable families, is the other element of successful families (Masten and Monn
2015).
Different studies have enhanced the significance of satisfaction with family life and
the importance of achieving positive and also to increase the family strength. There are other
researchers who have focussed on the family strength as a measure of of their ability to adjust
and also to change at the time of crisis. There has been a lot of research that consider social
and economic stress as a major factor for the determination of the family strength (Haine and
Walsh 2015).
Analysis of family strength
I found that the family strength can be analyzed by the positive mental strength of the
parent, household routines, and use of time along with communication and praise,
supervision, monitoring, and involvement. It can also be analyzed by the warmth between the
parent-child and also the supportiveness. Different research studies are there which

specifically link the poor mental health of the parents, particularly some mothers who are
victims of depression and poor quality adjustment of child. The daily basis activities, which
are performed in the family like meals, errands and chores is seen to be linked with outcomes
of multiple child such as achievement in academic, both behavioural and emotional
adjustment and self-esteem (Duncan, Magnuson and Votrubal 2014).
Conclusion
Thus from the above essay it can be concluded that the families that are closely linked
to each of the individual family members experience positive family outcomes. It also
focuses on the fact that the positive family attitude helps to develop a positive growth in the
individual. This will help in the better outcome of the family as they affect the entire family
structure and the individuals who are a part of the family. There are certain measures that can
affect the outcome of the patients such as social condition, financial status, education as well
as the psychological functions.
