INTRODUCTION
Family violence is the one that makes the child highly impacted by fear. This is the one in
which there is violence against children at home. They are the ones which get highly affected
mentally and physically. This can create different health issues along with mental problems in
children. In this case study, the Chosen topic is children who are exposed to or a victim of family
violence. In this report, there is a discussion about the children who are a victim or exposed to
family violence. There is a discussion about the childhood experience which is highlighted in the
short term, medium-term and long term impact on the child. There is also discussion about
family, culture and environment which can identify different health outcomes and also impact on
stage of development in children. There is also discussion about the childhood experience which
include intervention along with learning which can advocate positive health outcome for children
(Ziersch, (2017)).
CASE STUDY
Diana is 13 years old and physically violated by her father from childhood during family
violence. Her father is physically abusing her which created mental and physical harassment for
her. Diana is weak in the study and due to this, her father gets angry and violent against her
regarding learning better and get topper in class. This can create physical violence to her and
sometimes it gets highly violent. In the family, she has her mother who is also suffering the same
and sometimes Diana’s father gets highly violent and harms her in a bad way. This leads to
taking Diana to a hospital due to her bad condition for physical treatment. Diana's nurse meets
with her family that is the mother and asks her about the various marks on her body. Diana’s
mother explained her emotionally and this creates interaction with her mother and nurse. This
helps and created better knowledge about Diana’s physical situation. The nurse suggested that
there is a need to keep Diana in holistic care because she is getting mentally disturbed due to
family violence. Due to continuous violence Diana is getting mentally sick and gets fear when
she looks at her father and whenever she hears the voice of her father she gets threatened.

health impact on children
There is a high impact on children which can be either physical or mental health issues
and effect on children.
On children, there is a short-term impact is that they get full of fear whenever Diana
sees her father or listens to her voice. This creates a threat in their mind about her father that
whenever she meat with her father she get physically violated. This creates fear in Diana's mind.
This can lead to mental stress which can crate different thinking which can lead to depression.
In the medium term can she can get used to her father's nature that whenever she meets
her gets beaten up or family violation is there which creates a high impact on her thinking ability
and mental stress. Diana get normally meet with family violence which creates a high mental
impact on her mind and leads to create fear from a person like her father or any other men
(Misheva, (2017)).
Long-term can get threatened and can we get them whenever she likes to meet or listen
to any person's voice which could be threatened with her father. This can create a mindset in her
heart and leads to mental illness. This can create an impact on her mind and can lead to
depression and fear in the future and can mental illness can be observed within her. This is the
one that can lead to a high impact on the mind that can affect physical health along with mental
health.
Impact of family, culture and environment on identified health outcome for children
There is a high impact of family culture and environment on health outcomes for
children. This is the one that can provide better support to Diana. This can help to get a better
impact on a family which is by getting high support from family members who love Diana. This
can help to overcome from fear which is there in her mind related to her father's violence. This
can support from the family which helps to get a better and favorable environment regarding
meeting and playing with them. This can help to get better affection and love for her which can
help to heal in a better way (McPherson, (2017)). There is also a high impact or culture which is
due to the culture and can be there which children should be provided better love and care and
stay out from family violence. This can help to get a better environment of affection love which

can be shared and treated with Diana. This creates a better and positive outcome that Diana can
heal better way which is related to her father's fear. Impact of family culture and environment
have a role to overcome from any threat and family violence which that threatened and affect the
physical and mental health of Diana. This can lead to provide better outcomes sometimes when
they meet up with a better environment regarding culture and family (Tran & Van Ijzendoorn,
(2017)).
Impact of childhood experience on learning and development at a different stage of development
According to a case study, Diana is in the adolescence period in which there are different
changes in the body can be biological, psychological and emotional changes can be seen in
adolescence during the age of 13. In this, there can see different development biologically,
emotionally or psychologically which creates different changes and thinking ability related to
any situation in her mind. This is the one that can create a high impact on the development
biologically and helps her to get better physical health. Due to this, there can be different
changes that can be seen easily in her body. Due to family violence that can be changed in the
negative impact of emotional changes which can either be seen by Diana’s behavior and attitude
towards anyone. This creates difficulty for Diana for the development. The psychological impact
can be there due to her family violence which leads to psychological change that men are the
ones who can harm her at any time. During emotional change, there can be there due to her
father which creates family violence and physical violence. This leads to creating depression and
leads to separation from everyone (Gracia, (2017)). This is the one that can lead to mental
sickness and creates a negative impact on the development of Diana. In her life, she has suffered
from family violence which creates a high negative impact on her mind which can take different
psychological change which can lead to a negative attitude towards anything. There is a chance
that there is a high chance that can be there during her development. Her mind can get fear about
her father which can lead to mental sickness and depression. There is also the chance of isolation
from family when there is no support from her family that should be there emotionally and
socially.
Meeting with family and engaging therapeutically and communication strategies to support child
flourishing
When Diana gets highly physically weak due to physical violence and gets admitted to
hospital by her family. The nurse noticed that there are various marks on her body which is a

sign of violence with her. The nurse needs to ask Diana that can help to get better treatment for
her and need to get interacted with her family about the different marks on Diana’s body
(Koziol-McLain, (2018)). Diana’s mother explains the situation and asks her not to complain
about any file regarding the body marks of Diana. This could create high help for Diana along
with her family to nurse should ask everything about Diana and her body marks which are on her
body. The nurse needs to communicate in such a manner with Diana’s family that her family can
tell her everything about the truth related to Diana. The nurse needs to ask about physical and
mental sickness that can help to find out information in a better way and communicate politely to
her family to know about the physical violence and the time from which it started. This can help
to find the solution regarding violence and to help her physically and mentally to get heal which
was impacted due to family violence to Diana. The nurse needs to ask about each and everything
which can help Diana to provide better health and social care. For this, there is a need to know
every information regarding violence and the situation which was there suffered by Diana. The
nurse needs to use better and effective communication that can create trust and family get to
ensure and can help for Diana’s better health and social care. The nurse should advise Diana’s
family that can help to provide better care and every time to Diana. This can help to get heal
from the fear of violence. Nursing staff needs to use verbal and visual communication strategies.
This can help to find out the different marks on Diana’s body (Zhang, (2017)). This strategy can
help to find out different information which is related to the expression of Diana’s regarding
marks on the body. It also helps in finding expression of family members who are associated
with the nurse to accomplish the exchange of information whether they are sharing with the
nurse. This feeling or just talking about casually. This can help the nursing staff to find out that
whether Diana's family cares for her or taken for granted.

who can care about her. This can help to avoid the family violence and physical violence that

could be there by her father. This can help Diana to get early and better recover of physical and
mental health. This care can provide Diana better health regarding physical and mental both.
This can help to get away from physical violence or family violence and get a better environment
that can lead to effective mental health recovery (Väkiparta, (2019)).
Comfort and usual care
There is a need to provide comfort and usual care that can be done by nursing staff by
providing every care for her better comfort that can lead to improvement in the health of Diana.
This can lead to show affection and love towards Diana that can help her to get heal and recover
from the mental stress that she is facing due to family violence (Henry, (2017)).
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that there is a need to stop family
violence which can able to accept an impact on Children's physical and mental health. There is a
need to provide care and affection to the children who are a victim of family violence. In this
report, there is a discussion about the short-term, medium-term and long-term health outcome
impact which can be there on the child due to family violence. There is also discussion about the
impact of family environment and culture which can create an outcome for children. There is
also discussion about the development of a child according to the case study for better mentally
and emotionally. There is also a discussion about the communication strategy that can use by a
nurse to get effective information regarding patient condition and can provide better treatment
and advice to patient’s family to support child flourishing and recommend some intervention to
provide the positive impact of the health of a child.
