Abstract
The proposed assignment is an application named as Farm Shop. The goal of this application is to
provide functionalities to the client. It consists of many features such as it allows client to select from
various products using the application. One can select from multiple options available from foods to
drinks to gifts. In addition, the application provides clients an option to book the seats in the
restaurants. The application's wireframe are designed using a tool called Balsamiq. This is divided
into 4 parts to make it effective. In the first section, solutions to applications are provided. Then the
second section consists of choices to select among the two designs made previously. The work on
designing the interface will start after selecting the design. Then document will also be created. The
third section will have feedbacks collected from group members randomly. The fourth section will
comprise the interface, designed with respect to the feedbacks collected. Further if the feedbacks are
relevant then it works according to the feedback. The end design will be a product created using the
feedbacks. Further we also have option to improve the interface's graphical user interface.
Introduction
The objective of the application is to provide various functionalities to the clients. The application
consists of various features embedded in it like it allows a customer to choose items f rom the list. It
consists of various categories of items like gifts, food, wine etc. The restaurant can also be booked
using this application. This application consists of a number of features like it allows one to update
the profile of theirs b using the suitable option for the same. This is a user friendly application so
anyone can use it easily. For accessing more features of the application and to create better
understanding of the application one can sign in to the application. For the first time user, sign up is
needed to use all the features (Nielsen & J., 1994).
For developing the interface of the application a tool called Balsamiq is used. The design uses a
model called Nielsen Heuristic. The design is based on the following ten principles, they are: user
control and freedom, efficiency and flexibility of use, etc. A track option is also provided that will
help user to track his ordered product (Rivero, J. M., Rossi, & Gordillo, 2010).
Farm Shop Application Reflection
User interface
The main objective of this application is to provide its users the best of its services. It consists of a
number of options to provide user its excellent interaction. For example, booking of restaurant, it
provides user to book a restaurant and at the same time allows user to see the ratings and other
facilities provided by a particular restaurant. It also has options to make payment. One can make
payment easily using its payment gateway. After paying for the service, the user can client his order.
The graphical user interface of this application is designed with the aim to make it user friendly and
attractive (Shneiderman & B., 2010).

User Requirements
The Farm shop is a user friendly and useful application that allows users to navigate throughout the
application. This covers all the mentioned user requirements. The graphical user interface is designed
in such a way that every feature of it is easily accessible. The user has the option to update his or her
profile at any time. The application is built with strong policies that keep privacy maintained. Thus no
one can get access to use the application without having an account. To access the application one
needs to have their own credentials. The colours at background are kept simple such that it doesn't
interfere in the navigations of the application.
Design Justification:
The interface for user is designed in such a way that it provides its features available to the users at
any time. The font colour used in this application is of black colour and background is kept white.
This is because black colour is easily visible on the white screen of the application. The colour pops
out clearly in this chosen combination. In addition it provides some unique features as well like the
user is allowed to track his order. With this, the user can estimate the arrival time of the ordered item.
The features of this application are only accessible after creation of the account. The Jakob heuristic
model is used as principle model of this application (Noble, J. S., & Tanchoco, 1993).
Factors responsible for designing of the application
In the creation of the above mentioned application, we have considered various factors like user
friendly GUI, requirements of the user and business. The model Jokob Nielson is therefore used to
attain these factors in our application. The main user requirement of the application is to have a very
simple interface of the application so if any new user arrives, it becomes easy to use it otherwise with
a complicated GUI many user will not move forward to use this application due to lack of interaction
(Fults, D. A., & Requist, 1994). Therefore it is demanded to keep it simple as possible. Everything in
this project is designed by keeping every user requirement in the mind. The application design is
based on the following 10 principles, they are:
Freedom of the user
User recognizable
Transparency
User interaction
error handling
Prevention of error
Documentation etc.

An Example of similar application
An example similar to our application is "Hartley Farm". It owns a farm shop and a kitchen. It
manufactures and serves the best drink and food. People there are passionate about the ingredients
which they use. It has its branches over many other places. At farm shop of theirs one can find best of
the local food producer. From kitchen one can find great drinks and food. This also hosts events at
times. One can always get an event there. Apart from this they have won many awards in various
competitions and is one of the most recognised store around the area (Boniface & P., 2017). The farm
shop in this store provides the loyalty card to the customers who have been their customers since a
long time. You can also hire a private place for partying here.
Conclusion
We have successfully created the designing of the Farm shop application. The report consists of brief
description about the interface designing of the proposed application. An application similar to Farm
shop is also discussed in this report. All the business specifications have been discussed in this report.
On moving further, the user requirements have also been discussed very clearly and briefly. The
principle model of this application is also discussed in this report.
