1FASHION INTERNSHIP REPORT
I did my internship from a renowned fashion boutique in Saudi Arabia specialized in
couture wear. The company provides extraordinary services to each of its clients, where the
individual garments are made with a lot of care and skilled expertise of the workers. At the
first day of the internship I was given an elaborate introduction to the company and its owner
by her assistant. She provided me with a tour of the entire building, explaining to me the role
and function of each specific department, starting from textile development, to prints and
embroidery. The building had five storey, where each storey was particularly dedicated for
the functions of a specific department of work. I was also introduced to my department,
which concerned embroideries and pattern making. The assistant made me acquainted with
the head of the department, who in turn explained to me the structure and individual functions
of each member of the team.
After my introduction day, I was put under the supervision of one of the most
experienced members of the team, who was given the charge of assisting me with three
projects assigned to me by the head of the department. In the first week of the project, I
assisted the team with sewing the basic patterns for the embroidery that was to be followed. I
also provided them with ideas on color schemes and fabrics that could be used for the
process.
On the second week of the project I assisted my team with embroidery making. For
this purpose, we made use of a variety of fabrics ranging from cotton, silk and organza. We
tried out different kinds of patterns on these fabrics with different colored threads to provide
the clients with multiple options from which they could choose on the basis of their tastes and
preferences.
On the third week of my internship is was asked by the head of the department to assist the
team with pattern making processes. I got to learn about a variety of new processes and

techniques from the highly skilled and talented members of the team, who readily assisted me
with the tasks assigned to me.
Owing to the training and assistance I received from the team, I could portray my
skills to the head of the department in an efficient manner. For this reason I was given the
responsibility of designing a few swatches for the clients on the fourth week of my internship.
During this process, I made use of the knowledge and experience that I had gathered in the
previous weeks. I also studied the needs and requirements of each client carefully so as to
receive an idea of their tastes and preferences. I made a total of ten options for each of the
three projects on the fourth week, out of which the client selected the ones that they liked the
most for their occasion and purpose.
In summary, by the end of the four weeks of my internship I had become very well
acquainted with the processes of the team I was assigned to and was successful in catering to
their interests and business requirements.
