Introduction
Personal development basically includes the skills and competencies which are
required for the objective to achieve growth in the market. For a student to make his or her
career successful, it is very important to learn and acquire new skills which helps in
contributing towards the performance of the organization in a efficient and effective manner.
For this purpose a personal development plan is created that helps in achieving growth. The
report involves the academic skills which are needed for higher education business
management studies, demonstration of effective team working skills for the purpose to
achieve personal and future success and identification of key personal skills and attributes for
academic and future success. The report further involves the reflective statement on being an
effective student of business management in higher education and reflection on how
acquisition of skills helps in achieving growth and success. Lastly it includes two models of
academic and personal development and how it has improved learning.
Portfolio evidence (1)
Goal Setting
It basically involves the preparation of an action plan for the objective to establish
guidelines that can help in motivating and directing an individual. The first step involves
process of planning and plays a very important role in planning. It is very important to
conduct planning in a efficient manner in order to ensure clarity of outcomes and objectives
(The 7-Step Formula for Goal Setting, 2017).
Goal A: For the purpose to increase the chance of goal accomplishment, it is important to
have the required resources and means for the purpose to achieve objectives.
Goal B: For the purpose to increase the goal, it is important to determine the resources. I have
examined that in order to develop my communication skills it is important to attend
personality development program.
Goal setting plays an important role in boosting motivation and achievement of
objectives. With the help of goal setting it helps in measuring individual performance and
taking necessary action. To ensure success it is important to adopt strategic planning for
better understanding.
Step one: It Involves determining a certain method and ensuring clarity and goals that could
be measurable and achievable.
Step two: It involves determining a specific time required to achieve a goal. In order to
achieve goal it is important to determine a specific time period.
Step three: It involves enlisting the items which are needed in order to achieve a goal and it
can be further added during the process.
Step four: It involves preparing a plan that involves actions which are needed to perform.
When it comes to organization by sequence it involves activities and specific tasks.
Step Five: It basically involves identification and assessment of the shortcomings and hurdles
which are important for attainment of goals and objectives. It involves necessary measures
which need to be evaluated for the purpose to eliminate limitations.

Step Six: At this stage it involves the conversion of plans into actions. It basically involves
attainment of tasks and carrying out actions as per the plans to accomplish a goal.
Step Seven: In order to attain a goal, it is important to develop a routine and habit for the
purpose to achieve a certain objective or goal.

It basically comprises of the various methods and approaches which are necessary for
the professional and personal development. In order to enhance the abilities it is important to
adopt new ways. For the objective to achieve professional and personal development it helps
in identifying the best alternatives with the use of theories and models.
VARK Model
It is basically used for the purpose to determine the most suitable plan with the use
various different learning styles. It basically involves categories such as:
Reading/Writing: It involves type of learners who are willing to acquire knowledge with the
help of writing texts and reading content(Müller-Wieland, Muschner and Schraudner, 2019).
Visual: It involves type of learners who uses diagrams, graphics, charts, visuals etc. For an
individual it is important to acquire knowledge for enhancement of skills.
Auditory: It involves learners who are good listeners and can easily retain through hearing
lectures and can grab information that continuously helps in acquiring data and can easily
help them in excel in academics.
Kinesthetic: It involves approaches which are practical for the purpose to facilitate the
learning process.
Mums and Honey Mumford's learning style: Under this learning style it differentiates
learners on the basis of four different aspects that basically involves:
Activists: It involves learners who are concerned with getting new experiences for the
purpose to acquire knowledge and having a better understanding that helps in enhancing the
skills through real life experiences.
Reflectors: It includes learners who are inclined towards attempts, events and conclusions for
the purpose to analyze experiences. They are inclined more towards the attainment of
secondary and primary data.
Theorists: It involves learners who are inclined towards theoretical models, areas of analysis
and evaluation of concepts. It basically includes application of logical reasoning and thinking
of rationally.

Pragmatists: It involves various theories, approaches, concepts and ideas that helps in
evaluation of the applicability and effectiveness.
Kolb Theory: It involves learning styles by Kolb Theory that includes having a deep
understanding of the learning preferences. It basically involves learning styles which are
based on the development of genetics and personal experiences that involves existing
surroundings and trends (Kolb's Theory of Learning Styles, 2020).
The Converger: It involves learners who are related with the application of approaches and
involves excelling in areas for the purpose to solve a specific problem.
The Diverger: It involves type of individuals who uses observation methods and areas of
concrete experience. Under this category it involves individuals who are inclined towards
looking at a bigger image.
The Assimilator: It involves learners who are more skilled in developing theories and areas
of understanding for the purpose to enhance their knowledge. Such type of learners are more
involved in abstract convictions rather than the opinion of people. Such type of learning style
is basically followed by the people that involves engaging in practices of science and
maths(Alnahdi and Schwab, 2021).

Team Work
It basically includes the process of combining team members efforts for the purpose
to accomplish goals in the effective manner. It helps in supporting the employees to perform
a task following a positive approach.
Regulation of performance: Process of team work basically involves assessment of each
individual worker and easily monitor that supports the manager in evaluating and identifying
the employee's performance in the easiest way.
Improving efficiency: It basically helps the business in order to achieve objectives through
conversion of tough tasks into easy and manageable ones. It supports the employee to work
with their best capabilities.
Foster Better Learning Opportunities: It involves providing better learning opportunities
and working as a team(Xu, 2020).
Tuck-man's Theory:
This theory basically states the changes that take place in the leadership style, ability
changes and the relationship changes which usually takes place at every stage of team
development.
Foaming: It is the stage where the individual roles are not set and there is no communication
among the strangers and members and each of them does not actually know about the
company's objectives(Garon-Carrier and Bégin, 2021).

Storming: It is basically the second stage where there is clarity regarding the objectives of
the organization. It basically involves the situation of conflict that may arise due to lack of
agreements among the leaders and team members.
Norming: It basically involves the third stage which involves responsibilities and duties of
the staff members which clearly accepted and defined. At this stage it basically involves the
actions of the team members and the motivation level for the purpose to achieve the
objectives and aims.
Performing: It is the last stage where the team members do not take much guidance or
support from the leaders and work with much efficiency. At this stage, the staff members are
well aware about their duties and responsibilities and respect the opinions of their fellow
employees.

C.R.E.A.M Strategy
It is considered to be one of the highly recommended and the most effective strategy.
This strategy helps and allows the learners to develop their academic skills and helps in
enhancing the skills. Such strategy is usually based upon the five crucial elements that helps
in skill development and promotes effective strategy.
Creative: For the purpose to enhance creative skills, it is important to perform activities with
the help of individual strategies. Creativity skills could be enhanced through use of online
sources and books. In order to develop ideas it is important to read and have better
understanding of the business and reading scholarly articles.
Reflective: When it comes to professional and personal development, the reflective element
plays a very important role and also contributes towards assessment and identification of the
personal weakness and strengths for the purpose to evaluate development and self growth.
The reflection plays a very important role in bringing improvements for the purpose to
achieve personal and academic development.
Effective: Being effective helps in ensuring that action plan and various objectives are helps
in timely accomplishment of targets. It is important to ensure that actions results in
attainment of tasks and development of skills and being effective helps in ensuring fuller
utilization of resources and also helps in saving up time.
Active: This is considered to be the most crucial element in C.R.E.A.M strategy that includes
result oriented activities. It involves short term aims that helps in achievement of long term

Business Management in higher education. Business management helped me a lot in
providing accurate learning and knowledge of business management. Being a effective
student in business management allowed me to gain experience in my career and has
enhanced my skills. Being a effective business management it helped me in exploring various
opportunities and helped in gaining a lot benefits. My degree acted as a valuable tool and has
provided deep knowledge for the individuals who want to become a entrepreneur. The
business management helped in preparing myself for future job roles and also helped in
learning skill related to management which further involves communication skills, how to
manage employees, and team working skills. In addition to that it also helped me in
developing fundamental management skills.
The other management skills i got to learn involves project management, reporting,
problem solving, presenting and leadership skills. In addition to that it helped in getting a
brief knowledge about the business industry. My business management degree helped me
getting detail insights regarding the different industries and also helped in learning about the
various industry reports and market trends that can be implemented in future managerial
positions. During my beginning of the studies i got to learn so much about the different
specialties within the management and overall functions when it comes to business settings. It
also helped in having broader understanding regarding each discipline and getting brief

During completion of my module, there are various skills which i acquired that will
help and assist me in order to achieve future and personal success. The personal development
helped me in building knowledge, skills and awareness and also helped in developing skills
and competencies for the overall growth and getting success in personal and future scenarios.
In order to achieve growth in future, it is very important to learn new skills that helps in
contributing towards enhancement of my performance. With the help of skills and effective
personal development it becomes easy to improve and motivate and also helps in getting a
clear vision about the future growth. There are various skills which i acquired during my
module which really helped me in achieving future and personal success that involves:
Academic skills: With the help of academic skills, it helped in gaining various learning
opportunities and helped me a lot in becoming a good student. The academic skills includes
preparation, learning, assignment, project management etc. For me to gain a good grade,
these skills helped me a lot during my exams and assignments. With the help of academic
skills it helped in completing my assignments on time. With the help of academic skills it
helped in completing my degree and becoming a good learner and helped in preparing
systematic report and well structured assignments. It helps in getting prepare for my future
career and also helps in boosting my confidence. With the help of effective presentations it
helps in dealing with the stage fear(Carlyon and Naufahu, 2022).
Professional skills: It basically includes those skills which helps an individual to grow in a
career or particular job. It basically comprises of the various habits and competencies that
basically affects the performance of an individual. With the help of professional skills it helps
in making an individual to grab more opportunities in the workplace. During my learning, the
various professional skills that i acquired involved presentation, time management and
communication skills which helped in making a unique identity and with the help of these
skills it helps in achieving success in future and will help in enhancing overall competencies
as a professional. Moreover i realized that i was lacking in some areas that involved
management, research and communication. In order to improve in these areas, i have joined
virtual sessions and working on necessary skills that will help in saving a lot of effort and
time and helps in understanding concepts in a better way(Ludmerer, 2020).
Research Skills: These skills helped me a lot during preparation of my assignments and with
the help of research skills i was able to prepare my assignments and improve my skills that
required references from journals, articles and more.
Time management skills: With the help of time management skills i was able to prepare my
schedules that helped me in completing my assignments in a effective and efficient way and
also helped in creating a positive impact on my seniors and peers in my future career.
Communication skills: It basically involves the ability to communicate in a effective and
efficient manner and with the help of communication skills it helps in having a better

completion of my module and these are considered to be fundamental pillars for every
individual. Few of the skills i already developed naturally over a period of time and some i
gained during completion of my modules. Improvement in different individual areas helped a
lot in maximizing the chances of growth in future. In order to achieve personal and future
success, the skills i acquired involved effective communication which comprises of face to
face communication, phone based and written and all these ensure growth in the future and
maximizes effectiveness of an individual. Furthermore, organization skills helped me a lot in
handling my responsibilities and also it helped in prioritizing my tasks in a effective way. I
also got to acquire negotiation skills that works as a useful tool and will help me in striking
deals with the potential partners and purposes such as securing new clients. Another skill
which will help me in achieving future growth involves critical thinking which is basically a
process of problem solving that will help me in addressing fault points and potential
weakness in future surroundings. It also allows me to find creative solutions for various
problems, recognition of large systems, application and faster assessment of bad situations.

Model 1
VARK learning style model: Under this model it basically helps the students to learn
from the reading, kinaesthetic, visual and auditory learning style. It basically helps in

Reflection: It basically involves the model which is supported by the various methods
in order to learn new things in the most appropriate way. It basically guides me in writing
skills that helps in getting better results and also helps in excelling in my academic

also known as experiential learning theory and helps the students to learn about the four
