Introduction
Babysitting service is useful in Nelson because there is no proper organization and services are
provided from Auckland. The findings of this study will demonstrate the ease of setting up a
business of babysitting in Nelson. The aim is to explore the feasibility of babysitting service in
Nelson. Moreover, I will also bring a change in methodology and specifically in data collection
process.

Section One: Literature Review &Secondary Data
This is paper is concerned about reviewing evidence that can help in setting up a babysitting
service in New Zealand. This service is in high demand in this country and people are getting
interested in caring for babies when their parents are out of their home. In this place, most of the
parents are working and they need a babysitter to take care of their babies. Due to this reason,
they are ready to pay a minimum of $19.85 per hour to a babysitter (Harwood & Tukonic, 2017).
Many organizations are providing this service at present and this aspect has increased the market
competition. As the demand for babysitters is high, it can be stated that setting up a babysitting
service is very feasible in Nelson. Responsibilities of a babysitter are not limited as the service
users determine the roles and responsibilities as per their needs. The basic responsibility of a
babysitter includes loving, caring, feeding, teaching and looking after children of service users. For
setting up a babysitting service, it is required to hire an appropriate person based on their skills
and experiences.
Capital needs to be invested in training hired babysitters before sending them to client's place. On
the other hand, babysitting service providers must understand the needs of parents for satisfying
them. Different kind of people expects differently from a babysitter. Due to this reason, it is
important for service providers to have good communication and listening skills. These
professional skills must be developed in babysitters as well so that they can serve as per the
demands of customers. Qualification is another aspect that is on high demand in terms of
babysitting service. Most of the Kiwi families prefer to have an educated babysitter, who can teach
their child as well (Payne, Jamison, & Snyder, 2018). A qualified babysitter plays an important role
in the development of the child and this is the reason behind high demand of qualified babysitters
in New Zealand.
Most of the babysitting organizations have a well-designed website and social media activities for
attracting potential clients. Setting up this business will be more feasible if the service provider
invests time and money in developing a good website and social media marketing activities. Social
media has become one of the main parts of this modern age and these platforms are being used
by babysitting service providers in NZ. Elton Mayo's Human relation theory can be considered in
managing human resources and customers (Shdaimah, Palley, & Miller, 2018). On the other hand,
system theories can be considered in case of modifying business operations after understanding
the changing needs of customers regarding babysitters.

Section Two: Methodology &Primary Data
In this research, positivism research philosophy has been adopted to conduct qualitative research.
This can help to explore feasibility of babysitting in Nelson, New Zealand. For collection of data, I
am adopting the process of interview of customers that can help me to measure feasibility of
babysitting. Open-ended questions will be asked now to the respondents for gaining clear insights
and in-depth knowledge about the topic. For conducting the interview a questionnaire will be
prepared by me before. Open-ended questions increases capacity of respondents to explain
questions, that helps to gain desired aims of research (McCusker & Gunaydin, 2015). Besides, I am
changing the target population of the research. 50 customers in Nelson, New Zealand will be
interviewed for this purpose. This can help to gather detailed information about the target market.
Hence, feasibility of the babysitting business can be understood. A qualitative approach will be
adopted in this research work and previously both qualitative and quantitative research approach
has been adopted. Primary qualitative research method provides a chance of further probing and
in-depth analysis (Newcomer, Hatry, & Wholey, 2015).
A change in ethical consideration has also been done in this proposal. The data that will be
collected from respondents will be stored safely by using cloud storage. Moreover, only
authorized persons like group members will be allowed to access the data. Sharing of information
will be done under the monitoring of research supervisor. This can ensure the safety of data.
Among the limitations of the study, lack of time is significant.
At present, I am designing a questionnaire that will be used to take interview of selected
respondents. After finishing the questionnaire, I will submit it to the supervisor for feedback and
will make modifications accordingly.

I have reviewed the background of this research as per the guidance to understand how much
feasible is setting up a babysitting business in Nelson?
My research aims are,
How much do the babysitting service feasible internationally and in New Zealand?

How the perception of customers impact on the feasibility of setting up a babysitting service in
Nelson?
I believe that the perception of customers is an important aspect that needs to be reviewed
before setting up a new service. Feasibility of a business depend on the viewpoints of customers
regarding the services or products.
Researchers are studying about exploring the feasibility of setting up a babysitting service in
nelson. They need to pay attention in the following areas,
How much do the babysitting service feasible internationally and in New Zealand?
What customers think about setting up a new babysitting service in Nelson?
How the perception of customers impact on the feasibility of setting up a babysitting service in
Nelson?
Change to this:
Researchers need to collect data from interviewing customers. Respondents will be identified from
Nelson and they will be informed about the research process. After getting their consent, they will
be asked questions regarding their preferences in terms of babysitting. Some resistance may take
place. Respondents may show reluctant to provide authentic and bias-free answers. I will try my
best to avoid all resistances.
Change:
The change in limitations of this study is lack of time and funds. Interview is a lengthy process that
involves huge time and travelling cost. Repetitions of questions is another essential limitation that
researcher should avoid. The format of the questionnaire needs to be designed in such a way that
eliminates the change of bias.
In the final research proposal, I need to give attention to grammar and using New Zealand English.
Moreover, I need to make amendments in the literature review part as this research will be
conducted in a business perspective. Besides, I should use relevant references that can be
accessed by the readers and supervisor easily.
