Background
A data analyst has the responsibility of overseeing management and analysis of the hospital data.
They have a responsibility of compiling and organizing, analyzing and delivering of the health
data as stipulated by the hospital management (Spence et al., 2017).
Federalism and its importance
Federalism is the process whereby power separation occurs between an overarching government
and the local government. It is important because it allows the state and the federal government
to share power. It also enhances equal but limited power for the government which is the reason
why individuals elect a spokesperson to enable them to have their best interest (Solomon, 2017).
How has federalism affected Affordable Care Act.
Evaluation and medical data analysis has been the average responsibility of a healthcare analyst
with an aim to enhance both the profit and medical services in a health facility, and this is
through status reports preparation, data assessment and well- structured record keeping.
Basically, regardless of whether it is a public or a private hospital, an analyst will ensure
affordable health services are provided as well as making realistic profits. Thus, this paper will
discuss the effects/relationship between federalism and Affordable Care Act.
In a political system constituting separate states or other political units, federalism is the form of
government that joins them while each state maintains a unique territorial government.
According to He, Allison-Reumann and Breen (2018), it is believed that federalism leads in
integration of related but diverse states and ethnics groups. In year 2010, the United States
formed Affordable Care Act that would bring an extension of health insurance coverage. to the
huge number of Americans that could not afford them before. Through federal system a huge

poor of finances to support subsidies on insurance coverage is created and as well giving the
states additional responsibilities to enact these laws.
However, the Affordable Care Act is currently facing threats on a court case aiming at
illegalizing this law and its condition protections, claiming that there has been unconstitutional
mandate by the Congress’s repeal
A Perfect Example
A modern-day example is the marijuana debate. Many states have gone ahead to legalize it
although it is illegal under the federal law (He et al., 2018). The administration of Obama had
eased up while Trumps administration is cracking it down (Norris, 2017)
