ARE FEMALES MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN MALE ENTREPRENEURS
Introduction
Female entrepreneurship has gained huge recognition in recent past. In today’s era of globalization,
women have emerged in different kinds of entrepreneurship roles. However, effectiveness of females as
entrepreneurs in comparison to male counterparts is still in question. The research work proposed herewith
emphasizes on judging success of women in their role as entrepreneurs.
Are females more successful than male entrepreneurs?
As per the study of Barclays (Preston, 2015), it has been
revealed that only 42% of women claim that their businesses
are prospering. On the other hand, same ratio in case of male
entrepreneurs accounts to 62%. However, businesses run by
women are reporting higher pre-tax profits as compared to
ones operated by men. Females are getting equal attention in
all the areas therefore; they get huge assistance when they
desire to establish a business. Further, women tend to be
more sociable than men hence; they are more capable in
promoting business among the customers. This also gives
them the opportunity to connect with different people.

RATIONALE
In today’s era of growth and development, women are taking up different roles
and responsibilities. Government of every economy is trying to promote personal
and professional growth of females. However, there always remains a question
mark regarding success of businesses owned and operated by women. The
laymen comparison of males and females as entrepreneurs is easily available.
Nevertheless, the study supported through facts and figures in context of success
of women entrepreneur is still lacking. The research is therefore planned to be
conducted for carrying a concrete comparison in success rate of entrepreneurship
respectively owned by males and females.
RESEARCH ISSUE
Females have proved their capability from time-to-time to run the businesses
successfully. However, till date they are not getting proper platform to showcase
their capability in business management. Due to male dominance, females are
getting fewer opportunities. The issue lies in a common perception whereby
males are considered to be proficient entrepreneurs when compared to females.
The study presented herewith emphasizes on resolving issue by assessing the
success rate of women entrepreneurs.
