1FEMINIST IDEOLOGY
An ideology that had changed the thought process and points of view of the critics
around the world regarding different incidents of oppressing women in the world. This
ideology mainly focuses on the social and political changes that try to establish or oppose the
idea of equality of gender. This is the idea against the position of the societies supporting all
the changes from the male points of view which often supports the unfair or unethical
treatment against the women (Heywood, 2017). Feminist point of view is the weapon of
opposing gender stereotypes that prohibits women empowerment and positive change in the
situation of women. Since the ideology has been established many theories of social science
have incorporated this idea in effective understanding of their concepts. Among the variants
of this ideology, I feel Marxist theory is one of the most important one. Marxist feminism
speaks for eliminating any type of discrimination among the labour workforce that can
contribute positively in the economic growth of the companies or for that matter the countries
(Mojab, 2015). As the Marxist view focus on bringing balance in the society by empowering
the labour force, sights women empowerment to be one of the essential change in the society.
This is what the feminism speaks for exactly. The ideology of feminism has been understood
by me through my personal experience. In my college where both men and women were
allowed to sit and study in the classes, had a strange rule that women cannot take part in the
college sports or in debate. This idea of seeing women less capable than men was originated
from the social activities and years of male domination. This norms of my college was
abolished after ten years of continuous protest by the feminist group supported by the alumni
association of the college.
