After studying the impact activities have on regional growth. The event sector is the
important and acceptable tool to promote the regional development. The purpose of this study is
to objectively examine and illustrate a view of the relationship within both the event sector and
regional growth while also offering an understanding of the history of events and the growing
relevance of the event industry in the current society (Camilleri 2018). The real life examples
from around the world are being used as examples of the tourism field to understand and support
the event industry, and to discuss practical consequences for event management. Different
industries of the event sector are described and addressed in order to help the theoretical debate
about how the event sector is an important and relevant medium for the regional development
facilitation.
Global events are of benefit to regional growth, tourism and the environment. Take the
Olympics and Commonwealth Games for example. These are global activities that raise visitor
spending and readmissions while at the same time raising destination awareness and growing
civic pride (Getz and Page 2016). The events are described in the small regional locations are
clearly advantageous and also play the important role in the growth of tourism and therefore vary
because of the size and scope of the event in regional development however. Global events build
jobs and increase supply of labor, investments and even living standards (Arnegger and Herz
2016). As local economies have adjusted to adjust to global trends, it has become more popular
for hosting the international events and is able to play the vital role in local growth.
An event for celebration, marketing, education or reunion purposes can be defined as
the public assembly. Events could be classified according to their scale, form, and background
(Getz 2014). Three main groups are there in which activities take place. These are private,
corporate and fundraiser events which are explained below.

Private events
The private events are utilized for the single person, who is willing to book the venue like
birthday parties, festival gatherings and wedding as well as wedding receptions. The sector of the
private events us not distinct because of the events, which are being aimed at the reception of
weddings (Raj, Walters and Rashid 2017). The rooms for the private events are booked for
celebrating the wedding events and this is because of the hosts, who want privacy for the events
and who can afford the private venue unlike the other industry like Manufactures, schools and
business. For the people, who want some particular guests for arriving at the venue, private
events are for them. The private events can have the guest lists for ensuring that the venue is not
open for the other public.
Corporate events
For promoting the products and brand, businesses use the corporate events like
Business dinners
Networking events
Ensuring the exercise of the team buildings
Product launches
Conferences
Meetings
Seminars
The industry of corporate events is not the distinct event because of the events to be
aimed at the business. The business and corporate events support the objectives of the business
that includes the corporate communication, management functions and for improving the

business procedures and moral of the organization for increasing the income and profitability
(Lee, Parrish and Kim 2015). This is because of the companies, who are promoting business or
any product by expanding the meaning of the brand.
Charity events
For the individual person, charity events are used for raising the money for the charity of
their own choice by the events like sports events, charitable auctions and society balls
(Oklobdžija 2015). Some of the events of charity can ask for the fundraisers or sponsors for the
partaking in the event for raising the money for the charity and such events are like sponsored
walks, sponsored cycling, sponsored skydiving and sponsored runs.
Various criteria for the event classification are there. The basic criteria classifies the
events as the unplanned or planned events. The unplanned events can be natural disasters and
accidents. The planned events can be the subject of the event management study and this needs
the certain time length, management, executives and the setup. The events can be classified as
per the scope and size. This is possible for distinguishing the four types of events such as:
Hallmark events (Todd, Leask and Ensor 2017)
Mega events
Local events
Major events
Tourism is the travel act for the leisure purpose and recreation and refers to the provision
of the service for achieving the goal. The number of the tourists are rising, therefore, there will
be needs and expectation for the particular experiences. The event role and their importance lay
there in the modern tourism. The events are very essential part of the tourism and this is the

inseparable part of the human society. The provincial and regional events significance can have
the vital attractiveness power of the tourists (Panfiluk 2015). Such events are aimed rarely for
becoming larger. However, with the attraction of the tourists to the future investment and the
event the potential of the tourist will be built. The events in the group will have the professional
staff. The events of the international and national tourist can enhance the reputation and the
attractiveness of the specific destination. Unlike the local events, the main goal is to maximize
the appeal of the destination tourism of the hosts.
The festival of the tourist tempter is the only thing, which is aimed at attracting the
visitors for stimulating the development of local economic. The big bang festival is the
marketing tool, which promotes the myriad of the related activities over the defined area.
Various festivals are tested and analyzed as per the sustainable model of the development of the
local economic for examining the compatibility of the agenda of the model of income, jobs and
sustainability (Duran, Hamarat and Özkul 2014). Though the potential synergies among the
sustainable development of the local economic and the festival tourism are very easy and they
are weak in the practice. The festival tourism can have the potential for making the valuable
contribution to the development of the sustainable local development.
Moreover to the consequences of the economic events, the events have the negative and
positive effects on the host communities. The hosts can revive the social and cultural life for
building the pride of the community, providing the identity sense, enhancing the destination
image. The socio cultural impacts can occur because of the interaction between the destination
area with the population and the tourists. The entire destination becomes very visible as the event
occur. Therefore, this has the real opportunity for developing the socio-cultural impacts (Stylidis
et al. 2014). The dissatisfaction of the host community can threaten the success that is for long

term of any event and in this way the acceptance by the local community is essential for the
event continuity. The cultural and the social effect of the event tourism as the way in which the
tourism event tends to contribute for changing the value system, conduct, family relationship,
moral, creative expression, collective lifestyle, community organization and traditional
ceremonies.
The event tourism is driven by the economic benefit mainly, however, the impacts and
outcomes need to be tested at the societal and personal level in terms of the environmental and
cultural change. The event tourism must be reviewed in the perspective of open system by
identifying the inputs and transforming the outcomes and processes. Depending on the outcomes,
change process and the perspective can be interpreted as the negative and positive impact. The
applied work and the research has been devoted to the economic consequences and the other
results are neglected for multiple year with the development of the convincing and suitable
measures of the intangible consequences (Niedziółka2014). However, the cultural and the social
outcomes are well-understood and the indicators range will be available. Though the effect on
the environment of the tourism and events will be addressed by the researchers. The
environmental effects are hampering the use of the triple-bottom-line approach to the evaluation
of event-tourism. This is basically easier and effective politically for putting the result into the
monetary terms.
Each destination, which wants to enhance the attractiveness of the tourist needs to make
the detailed plan for the tourism development. The plan must incorporate and focus on the
event’s strategic planning if they tend in realizing the potential of the event tourism industry. The
event, which takes place in the particular destination must be planed and developed
systematically and needs to be established as the attraction of tourists and catalyst for the more

enhancement of the animators and the image builders of the event destination. This is very vital,
which the event is organized and planned in the way in which they vary from each other by
considering the aspects, which is the well defined service and can make the event to offer the
recognition in the industry by providing the advantages over the competition that results in the
more satisfaction and loyalty of the visitors. This is very vital in repeating events. The main
aspect of their success lies in the accommodation facility support of the proper standard and the
high level of the cooperation within the tourist agencies. Specific information availability about
the follow-up activities and events with proper activities of marketing.
